The youth wing of the National Democratic Congress in the Greater Accra Region has politely asked President Nana Akufo-Addo whether he expected them to use a bread knife from Mrs. Akufo-Addo’s kitchen instead of the machetes they were seen using during their clean-up operation at former President John Mahama’s residence in Accra. “If that was the case, what stopped him from sending any of his wandering elephant-size presidential staffers to make them available to us?” a statement signed by Amorse Amos Blessing, Regional Youth Organizer, said. President Akufo-Addo condemned their act: “It is my honest hope that the machetes and weapons brandished last week at the residence of the NDC’s presidential candidate, the former President John Mahama, are not signs of things to come in the run-up to the 2024 elections elections”. “If it is, I can assure them that they will find no success with them”. President warned. The youth further question why the President did not send his own staff to assist them. This response was prompted by the President’s concern that the use of weapons during the clean-up might signify potential violence in the upcoming 2024 elections. The President emphasized his commitment to preventing any individual or group from destabilizing the country and undermining the peace that citizens currently enjoy. NDC defending the indefensible, an act of ill-will, preposterous and cheap politicking–UER-NPP Comm.
The Communication Directorate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has described the demand for justice for the 8 dismissed Chiana students by the NDC Youth Wing as a malicious attempt by the NDC and its cohort to make President Akufo-Addo look bad in the eye of Ghanaians. The statement says “Any political player worth their sort in Ghana that appreciates the modus operandi of state Institutions or willing to learn same would have known that the President had no prior knowledge of the decision of the GES”. Read full statement below: The statement signed by the Regional Communication Director of NPP Peter Ayinbisa further says, “In spite of this, when the attention of the President was drawn to the dismissal of the students, he immediately intervened rendering the dismissal null momentarily”. RE-NDC YOUTH WING DEMAND JUSTICE FOR THE CHIANA 8 The Upper East Regional Communication Directorate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sighted with disbelief a press statement from the NDC youth wing calling for the reversal of the dismissal of the Chiana 8. While it is factual that the decision to dismiss the recalcitrant students was in conformity with the code of conduct of the GES, it is an act of ill-will, preposterous and cheap politicking from the NDC to seek to defend the indefensible. The malicious attempt of the NDC and its cohort to drag the President into issues of this nature is unfortunate, unfair and unreasonable. Any political player worth their sort in Ghana that appreciates the modus operandi of state Institutions or willing to learn same would have known that the President had no prior knowledge of the decision of the GES. The GES like all other state institutions did what was deemed right in accordance with its institutional regulations to tame and dissuade the unbecoming behaviour of the Chiana 8 and their ilk. It is trite knowledge that insults, satire, invectives that offend the dignity of a public official are punishable by law. In spite of this, when the attention of the President was drawn to the dismissal of the students, he immediately intervened rendering the dismissal null momentarily. The swiftness and compassion of the President in this matter should be the focus of our political discourse while without reservations condemning the unscrupulous behaviour of the affected students by all.The disposition of the NDC in this case is not only shameful and a ‘low-blow’ to our democratic credentials, but a seeming attempt to ‘weaponize’ the youth of Ghana against this government. Indeed, the NDC is depleted physically, depressed mentally, despairing spiritually-their ability to stand the record of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is all gone; the only thing left is to support conducts that our constitution and customs abhors without shame. We in the Upper East Region commends the President for his gracious magnanimity while calling on our daughters and sisters at the center of the case to go and sin no more. Beyond the rules and regulations that guides our conducts in public and private institutions, we are Ghanaians and such misconduct stinks in our culture. Let’s together help build a better future for the youth. Signed Hon. Peter Ayinbisa AyamgaDirector of Communications (U/E/R). Delete any motivation or inspiration of joining politics to amass wealth for yourself—BTU TEIN President to Youth
Akoogo Solomon Apeawin the TEIN President at the Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) has advised colleagues inducted Tertiary Education Institutions Network of NDC (TEIN) Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) to delete any motivation or inspiration of joining politics to amass wealth to themselves but to be of public good, service and useful to society. Mr. Solomon Apeawin gave the free advice when addressing the congregation during the occasion of welcoming new students of Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) into the intellectual wing of the party. “Dear young man/woman, let your motivation or inspiration to join politics not be to amass wealth to self but to be of public good, service, and use to society. We’ve all got just one Ghana and if we don’t build it with good values, and the right moral principles of nationhood, we shall all be called FAILURES in time to come”. He said. Adding his voice to the current state of the nation under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, The BTU TEIN President believes that: “Indeed there is a VAST difference between a POLITICIAN and a LEADER. In the past decade alone I am sure you have seen the ‘differentials’ if asked, between the NDC and the NPP. His Excellency the incoming President, John Dramani Mahama deserves to be canonized as a LEADER and undoubtedly, the same CAN NOT BE said of President Nana Akufo-Addo who has woefully failed Ghanaians”. He said, if the youth of today wants plays politics of anything goes then, there is a need to change such a narrative for a better tomorrow for the country at large. Let’s campaign assiduously as Jehovah’s Witnesses campaign to win souls– Osman Ayariga
Osman Ayariga an interested aspiring candidate for the position of National Deputy Youth Organizer in the upcoming internal party election of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has informed members of TEIN at the Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) that there is a need to activate the Jehovah’s Witness style of winning souls as a campaign method ahead of the 2024 election. “We need to go out and campaign assiduously as Jehovah’s Witnesses campaign to win souls, we need to go out and campaign to win the next election”. He stressed However, Mr. Ayariga said, in as many members of TEIN will be ready to be used to recover power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), those given the opportunity must give some level of assurance to the TEIN members that, they will not turn their back on them as usual. “I see that what they require from you is assurance. Assurance that when they fight out of their right to bring the party back to power, the arrogance of the power will not eat our leaders. They just need assurance that when they come to you for help, you will not shut your door on them. They need the assurance that when they come to you for ordinary NSS posting, you won’t tell them that, this is not a party office but is a state office, they need assurance that when they come to you for nursing re-posting, you will not tell them that, I ran the office as a state office and not a party office, they need the assurances from you that when they come to you for a scholarship you will give them stories, this is the assurance they want”. He stressed He said, all they need as TEIN need is to be empowered, “we won’t come chasing for the position you acquired, we are tired of every day Ghc 100.00, Ghc 200.00 or these small monies here and there, we need to be empowered”. Alhassan Bashir Fuseini popularly known as Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sagnarigu Constituency in the Northern Region
If you take a flute to blow your achievement, someone will use a whistle to blow your deficit A.B.A Fuseini mocks Akufo-Addo’s govt
Alhassan Bashir Fuseini popularly known as Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sagnarigu Constituency in the Northern Region has told the Governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) that with the current hardship bedeviling the country if they like, they take flute to blow your achievements, someone will use a whistle to blow their deficit. Apexnewsgh.com report Mr. A.B.A Fuseini punch the governing New Patriotic Party on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) while addressing newly inducted TEIN student members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). Addressing freshers of Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) TEIN members, the Sagnarigu legislator said: “I can say without any iota of hesitation that NPP today is like a house that is collapsed and you don’t ask whether the roof is still standing. Like you said earlier, if one dies in the market, there is no need of announcing his or her funeral. It is clear that the country today is waiting for the NDC to come back and rescue this country under His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. “Today as we speak, Ghana has acquired an enviable status as the riskiest country to lend money to. Recently, if you look at the rating agencies, Ghana has been downgraded to CCC+ negative outlook, indeed what the international community is telling us is that our economy is a junk and you know what a junk means”. He further pointed “As we speak today, there is a huge revenue shortfall from government, from the 2020 budget when they estimated about 14.6 billion and if you cannot match your revenue to expenditure, you are going to develop a deficit and this NPP government has run a deficit under the ages of 4th Republic and still getting worse”. He stressed Meanwhile, talking about the country’s inflation, the MP described it as the highest in many decades one can think of. “If you look at our inflation today, which measures the changes in the price of goods and services, is the highest in many decades you can think about. Officially, we are supposed to be doing about 32 inflation but unofficially from the people that go to the market every day, we are totaling around the 40s and 50s”. “If you look at the exchange rate, just two days ago, the dollar crossed a Ghc 10.00 mark”. “You see, my brothers and sisters, if you take a flute to blow your achievement, someone will use a whistle to blow your deficit” He concluded. NDC Youth Wing Rejects 2022 Budget
To The Ghanaian Youth, Times are really hard, especially for the Youth; there is no better way to put it. The 2022 budget presented by the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta earlier this week failed to address some of the existential threat facing young people and our determination to rise up from poverty through hard work and enterprise. Like many of you, we are alarmed and disappointed that such a heartless budget will be presented by the New Patriotic Party government, after all preparing a budget is one of the most basic responsibilities of any government. But it appears no innovative and critical thinking went into the preparation of this budget, thus falling short of addressing our needs as a people. More importantly, for the Youth of Ghana, this budget was far from our reality, our hopes and aspirations. Reading the entire document, one cannot ignore the singular theme that reflects in those hurriedly written lines; the hardheaded and irresponsible posture to the plight of the Ghanaian people. It is not surprising how Ghanaians have responded to the thoughtless budget presented for the 2022 fiscal year, and rightly so because the scourge of this budget will be borne by the people. Everywhere, when budgets are presented, it inspires hope amongst the masses, as it offers government’s thoughtful and considerate blueprint to alleviate the suffering of the people and improve on the socio economic wellbeing of the masses. What our finance minister presented is far from that and a direct ‘insult’ to the Ghanaian people especially our industrious young people. To our young people, you are right to be disappointed in the budget presented for the FY2022 as it does not include a comprehensive plan to create jobs for the many young people out of school without jobs, vocational or professional skills in this hardened economy. In the absence of creating jobs and equipping you with the right skills to be employable, this administration must not look to further burden you with more inconsiderate policies that will make life more unbearable for us. Government has no justification whatsoever on the position it has taken. We empathize with you and oppose vehemently these new taxes and increases in some levies as well government fees. We recognize that Majority of entrepreneurs who rely on electronic payments to run their businesses are young people and this draconian tax will adversely affect you. Thus the proposed 1.75% levy on electronic payments will be counter productive. We are sorry that this government, under the guise of widening the tax bracket is oblivious to our plight as young people and has resorted to taxing every service that makes our lives easier. Rest assure that we stand with you on this, we will oppose this! While this government has failed you, we ask that you do not give up especially on your dreams even in these hard times. We have requested through Leadership that the Minority Group in Parliament works to reject the budget in its current form. Every NDC MP will be committed to this course earnestly. Any other outcome will be ab inconvenienti. In the spirit of camaraderie, we will also be presenting a petition to parliament on why the Youth of Ghana is against the 2022 budget. It is our firm belief that everyone, on both sides of the House must work together to reject this budget as it is antagonistic to the Youth of Ghana. There is the need to increase government’s revenue but it is a lame approach to tax almost every service and product that is used by young people to achieve that. Government must find a way to patch up the revenue loopholes and come up with an innovative way of effectively collecting taxes. It is their responsibility to implement the right stop-gap measures and comprehensive plan to generate more revenue rather than resort to a tax driven agenda to exploit our already drained pockets. While we wait and observe what will be the Legislature’s position on this budget, government must focus on efficiently generating revenue by considering innovative schemes to ensure tax is collected effectively and accounted for, while creating jobs and opportunities for young people. As young people, it is imperative that our capacity, and human potential is developed and harnessed properly; government must be held accountable if it cannot do this simple thing. What we want as young people is a government that is considerate of our plights and will work hard to ensure our lives are better and not the opposite as we see with this insensitive government. To all young people , we encourage you to summon your political courage and add your voice to this advocacy. This budget is dangerous to our progress and detrimental to our hopes and aspirations.
