NDC’s Simon Aworigo Reaches Out to Constituents with Inclusive Developmental Policies

In the bustling town of Navrongo, excitement filled the air as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Simon Aworigo, made his way to the Naaga and Kologo communities. Apexnewsgh Reports His presence sparked hope among the residents, as he outlined the party’s ambitious policies to tackle the pressing developmental issues plaguing the area. Expressing gratitude to the national and regional executives for their visit, Aworigo warmly thanked the communities for their warm welcome. He emphasized the urgent need for change in both the presidential and parliamentary elections, citing eight years of hardships and struggles under the current administration. During his address, Aworigo shed light on some of the key challenges faced by the communities, including the lack of electricity in certain areas due to uncompleted rural electrification projects, unaddressed appeals for hospitals and secondary schools, and the persistent issues of deplorable roads and rampant armed robberies. To address these challenges, Aworigo presented the NDC’s comprehensive solutions. These included plans to upgrade infrastructure by improving roads such as the critical Bolga-Shirigu-Naaga route, creating youth employment opportunities through a 24-hour economy, implementing a free policy for the first-year students who gained admission in the university, establishing farmer service centers under the agricultural facility, and introducing a women’s development bank to empower women in the community. Focusing on the critical issue of youth unemployment, Aworigo highlighted that lack of opportunities was the primary concern. Research has also supported this, showing significantly higher unemployment rates among the youth compared to the adult population. The NDC’s policies aim to directly address this pressing concern. As the December elections draw near, Mr. Aworigo’s compelling message of change and development resonates deeply with constituents in the Navrongo Constituency, igniting a sense of hope and determination for a brighter future. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), recently embarked on a 3-day campaign in the Upper East Region, dubbing it a “retail campaign.” This grassroots approach aims to connect with people directly in remote communities, allowing him to grasp the challenges they face firsthand. By doing so, Asiedu Nketiah demonstrates his commitment to understanding the needs of the people and fostering meaningful relationships. Source: Apexnewsgh.com/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen/ Navrongo

PNDC/NDC portable water provision unbreakable Asiedu Nketiah claims as he joins Navrongo PC to commission borehole in Doba

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), praised his party’s commitment to providing portable water across Ghana. He expressed his confidence in the party’s ability to address the crucial need for water in the Navrongo Central constituency in the Upper East Region. During the commissioning of a borehole constructed by the Navrongo Parliamentary Candidate, Simon Aworigo Akibange, Mr. Nketia highlighted the importance of water and its role in bringing life to communities. He referred to the PNDC and NDC’s track record of prioritizing water provision, which helped to eliminate Guinea worm disease during the PNDC period. Mr. Nketia acknowledged the efforts of past NDC presidents, including President Prof. Mills and President John Dramani Mahama, in continuing to focus on water provision. He emphasized the need for consistent attention to water pollution throughout different administrations to achieve the goal of water for all. Engaging the media, Mr. Simon Aworigo Akibange, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Navrongo Constituency, announced that he has started fulfilling the borehole promises he made during his campaign. During the commissioning of a borehole in the Doba community, Mr. Aworigo addressed the issue of water scarcity in his constituency, particularly in rural areas. He expressed concern about the impact of this problem on women and children, who spend a significant amount of time fetching water instead of engaging in productive activities. “It is a rural constituency and as many of them, water has always been a challenge. It takes away the time of our women, for young pupil to be in school, they spend most of the day carrying water for household activities, whereby women who should be spending productive time engaging in something that will bring income to the house will always go looking for water. It is the reason why when I was going round campaigning during the primaries, it came up and very strongly that they needed water and I felt that it is important I begin by providing that water I promised will do. In fact, this is an ongoing programme and it is not stopping now”. He stressed Recognizing the urgent need for water, he pledged to continue implementing his promise to provide boreholes in the constituency. This project consists of multiple phases, with the first phase consisting of 16 boreholes. “It is just the first phase of 16 of them, there is a second phase that is going to be roll out soon. The phases are not finished until we cover every part of the constituency that needs water in Navrongo central”. He emphasized the importance of clean water in preventing waterborne diseases and ensuring the health and well-being of the community. Furthermore, he criticized the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for making empty promises and asserted that the NDC has a track record of delivering on its commitments, both in government and as an opposition party. NDC Primaries: 7 freshly elected Parliamentary Candidates you must know in the Upper East Region

In the Upper East Region, Seven (7) fresh faces have emerged as parliamentary candidates elect for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in various constituencies. In Garu, Dr. Winsum Anaba, the former Medical Director for the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, who was sacked by the NPP shortly after they assumed office snatched the seat from the incumbent Albert Alaazuga Akuka with no mercy. In the Chiana/ Paga constituency, Mr. Alamzy Billa snatched the seat from the incumbent Mr. Thomas Addah Dalu. Navrongo also brought a new face in the person of Simon Aworigo Akibange, the man who returned from the United Kingdom as the NDC- UK Ireland Chapter secretary to claim a Parliamentary seat he believes belongs to him. He beat the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Navrongo Central Constituency Sampson Tangombu Chiragia and emerge victorious. On the part of Binduri, Lawyer. NDC Primaries: Navrongo Central Constituency and what the outcome is likely to be after counting of ballot

The Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be going to the poll on May 13, 2023, for their internal flagbearership and parliamentary primaries. Apexnewsgh.com, as part of our usual public view seeking ahead of party elections in the Upper East region, has conducted extensive views and opinions from the people of the Navrongo Central Constituency regarding the National Democratic Party internal primaries Sampson Tangombu Chiragia: ‘Is a tax expert. Before becoming an MP, he was working at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). He is an auditor’. ‘He has been the Pilar or the cornerstone of Navrongo politics. He contested Mark Woyongo in the 2012 primaries and lost. He has been the party financier for long’. ‘Sampson has been consistent when it comes to loyalty, he has been very supportive of the party. Basically, this is the strength he has over other candidates’. ‘He has also organized some health outreach, bought motorbikes for the health directorate, renovate some schools, secure some furniture, and also bought computers, and math sets for BECE students’. ‘He is the one who has made the party attractive in Navrongo because those days, people were not interested to be known as part of NDC’. ‘When Kofi Adda came, a lot of people were afraid and no one could win Kofi Adda because Kofi Adda was having the people at heart and he was able to win the heart of Navrongo Central until Kofi Adda left the political scene that is when a lot of people are now beginning to show interest’. We gathered Simon Aworigo Akibange: Is the NDC UK Ireland Chapter Secretary. He has been assisting the party in certain ways. He adopted the party some time ago and was giving the party Ghc 400.00 every month. ‘Aside from that, he even bought laptop for the party and some other accessories that will help equipped the party office’. The contest is between Simon and Sampson. He has come with a different tribal Rambo style campaign because he is a Nankana by tribe. He is said is their time, according to those from Nankana’s speaking areas, they equally want to test the Parliamentary position as the people of Kessena have tested for long. No ‘Nankana’ person has become an MP in the history of Navrongo. So currently, the contest is between the Sampson faction and the Simon faction. Sampson is gaining some ground because of incumbency, if not that, it wouldn’t have been easy for Sampson. Because Sampson has not managed so many things well. A lot of people are not happy with the way he goes about doing things. Dr. Jacob Paarechuga Anankware;   “His contributions to the party are well-reorganized. He has been able to award brilliant but needy students in his constituency.  Dr. Jacob contested the current MP in 2018 and lost. This is his second contest together with the MP”. Lawyer Pius Ayemva Avio: Is a party member in good standing. But we also gathered that contribution-wise, they say, they cannot point what he has contributed to the party. However, in this contest, factionalism cannot be swept under the carpet as far as Navrongo is politics is concerned. Currently, they are able to get a Nankana person who is Simon Akibange. Remember, the 3 people contesting from the Navrongo area are coming from the Kessena-speaking area. They are telling delegates that this is the time to get their share of the Parliamentary seat. The people from Nankana speaking area are claiming their roads are deplorable and has not been given any attention because they have not gotten the opportunity to serve as MP in the history of Navrongo party politics. Our Prediction: We observed that the incumbent Sampson Tangombu Chiragia is facing a tough battle. We observed that the Nankana factor used by Simon Aworigo Akibange as a campaign message against the incumbent is becoming a very dangerous weapon causing much harm to the incumbent because delegates are buying into such ideology. We observed that votes from the Kassem-speaking area will be shared among the 3 candidates Sampson Tangombu Chiragia, Dr. Jacob Paarechuga Anankware, and Lawyer Pius Ayemva Avio. The signals we have received show that if the incumbent didn’t play his game perfectly well, Simon Aworigo Akibange might take that advantage.   However, upon all these signals and controversies, we are still confident the incumbent MP will emerge victorious at the end of the day with his only saviour being the power of incumbency. For the Flagbearership, John Dramani Mahama will get over 75.5 percent ahead of his other contenders Dr. Kwabena Duffour, a former Minister of Finance and Mr. Kojo Bonsu, a former Mayor of Kumasi will share the rest of the votes. Apexnewsgh.com is noted for its accurate predictions of local elections so far within the Upper East region. Please, these are views collated, the views expressed here were not our decision we engage those who matter. Our good wish goes to all candidates.
