NDC stands a strong chance of winning the 2024 presidential poll and securing a legislative majority– EIU

According to the report, the National Democratic Congress may win both the presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana in the 2024 general polls. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) made the prediction in its latest report released on Friday, April 28, 2023. “The NDC, therefore, stands a strong chance of winning the 2024 presidential poll and securing a legislative majority,” EIU noted. Poor governance and economic hardship are largely, the concluding factors for the expected voting patterns. EIU, however, noted that, irrespective of who retains power, it expects Ghana’s policy to continue to focus on ensuring macroeconomic stability. The report also captured that the new government will face similar economic challenges its predecessor encountered. “The next parliamentary and presidential elections are due in 2024. Under constitutionally mandated term limits, the incumbent president, Nana Akufo-Addo, cannot run for a third term, and he has pledged to comply. “In early January the trade and industry minister, Alan Kyerematen, resigned and announced his bid to become the NPP’s presidential candidate. We expect the contests to secure the presidential candidacies of both the NPP and the NDC to be highly competitive, with several high-profile figures expected to contend. John Mahama, the former president, launched his campaign to secure the NDC presidential candidacy in March. However, the NDC could also choose to revitalise its prospects with a fresh candidate, such as Kwabena Duffuor, a former finance minister, who has also declared his intention to secure the party candidacy. Northerners deserve to be treated with respect-Frank Fuseini Adongo

The former Upper East Deputy Regional Minister Hon. Frank Fuseini Adongo has added his voice following the ethnocentric pronouncement made by Mr. Hopeson Adorye against Northerners. Apexnewsgh.com report According to the former Deputy Regional Minister “Northerners deserve and should be treated with respect.” We deserve gold for our many years of service to the NPP.” Hon Fuseini in an interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Friday, August 19, 2022, asked his people from the North to disregard such pronouncement from a party member who should know better, especially when the NPP is already fighting to overcome the NDC manufactured negative perception that the NPP belongs to the people of Akan. “I want my people to understand, that what Hopeson stated was an individual mistake, not an NPP mistake. What he said cannot represent the views of the NPP’s nearly 5 million members, which is why he has accepted responsibility for his actions by apologizing,” he said. However, describing Mr, Adorye’s pronouncement as a ‘reckless comment’, the former Zebilla legislator urged all sons and daughters of the five northern regions to forgive Mr. Adorye for his unfortunate loosed talk which does not represent the NPP’s position as a political party. Dr. Adongo expressed worried that the opposition NDC, will use Hopeson Adorye’s remark to knock the heads of NPP against the people of the north in the 2024 general election. Mr. Adorye is reported to have said during the walk, “The NPP has a tradition. Our tradition is Busia, Danquah and Dombo. Danquah represents Eastern Region and the bottom (south), Danquah represents Ashanti Region and the Bono areas, while Dombo represents Northern Region. The Dombos are always in the mix and fit as running mates to either a Danquah candidate or a Busia candidate. That tradition must continue.” However, the Hon. Fuseini said: “President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had demonstrated beyond all reasonable doubt that he had the people of northern Ghana at heart and that “he has been in excellent connection with the northerners.” Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. IMF: NPP man lambast government leadership, questioned whereabout of the men.

One of the controversial outspoken member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Wilson Dabuo, has questioned the whereabout of the men his party claimed they have. Dabuo dissatisfaction resurrected after the official release from the office of the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo through the Information Ministry instructing the Finance Minister to engage with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He said, “I believe the President will at this time show some leadership. Change the team A, as the country awaits the IMF arrival. Not only is there hunger in the country, there’s also a pure sight of anger!” Read his full Meta post below: The Wind of  Change that blew across Ghana in the runner up to the 2016 election was such manifest that the opposition then and now government had the goodwill of the people. Motivated by such goodwill, the citizenry were told thatthey have the men and women to deliver. I dare ask the question,Where are the men and the women? Where are they that we can’t see them at work? If this is the team A, they obviously  have not been satisfactory enough! Or it is only the President that see their respective performance? Like the Black Stars of Ghana, we always blame others for our lack of good  showing. Thus, weBlamed COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war. But never thought for once that the team players are core structures in this whole meltdown. How on earth can a President with a cream of competences around him wish to play certain midfielders when indeed there are obvious injuries? I agree we turn to the IMF but until this team of persons around the Presidency are changed, like the joke of the e-levy, the IMF cannot be a panacea either.I believe the President will at this time show some leadership. Change the team A, as the country awaits the IMF arrival. Not only is there hunger in the country, there’s also a pure sight of anger! Source: apexnewsgh.com
