A group of former NABCo trainees, known as the Coalition of NABCo Trainees, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to honor a promise he made to them during his campaign tour of the Volta Region. Apexnewsgh reports
The promise, made on June 24, 2024, committed to paying the trainees’ 9-month arrears, which remain unpaid.
The group expressed their disappointment and frustration, stating that “weeks have passed without action, and silence has followed.” They emphasized that the “broken promises and neglect are staggering,” and they will no longer “remain silent on this matter.”
The coalition highlighted the struggles they face due to the unpaid arrears and the unfulfilled promise to mechanize the scheme, which has left them “struggling to survive in the grim economic outlook under your leadership.”
The group has urged Dr. Bawumia to “honour” his promise and release their “outstanding arrears” without “further delay.” They also demanded the “immediate payment” of the outstanding arrears.
The coalition’s statement serves as a reminder to the NPP flagbearer and Vice-President to fulfill his commitment to the vulnerable former NABCo trainees.
