The Deputy National Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has said that he prefers watching the match between Manchester United (ManU) and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) than responding to the manifesto amendment of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Obiri Boahen told Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com in exclusive interview on December 2, 2020.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday, December 1 announced an amendment to their manifesto and has since promised to absorb the fees of students who will be admitted to the various tertiary institutions across the country in the next academic year.
According to Mr. Obiri Boahen,
“NDC manifesto amendment is a clear indication of a bunch of politicians who don’t read through whatever they present to Ghanaians. They are confused from the flag bearer to their constituency office, they are all confused. I have never heard throughout my life as a politician, I have never heard of an instance where you can amend your party Manifesto, I mean you don’t do an amendment to party Manifesto, assuming that is even practicable, it will come when they are implementing the Manifesto but not when you are in opposition, you have not had the opportunity to be in power and you are yet to go into elections, then you come out to amending portions of your manifesto. That is irresponsible tactics.”
“The NPP has never done such thing in the party history, as for NDC is a novelty. Do I even need to waste my time with such discredited and unreliable politicians when in the next hours or minutes I will be ‘watching Manchester United and PSG’, I don’t need to be wasting my time on them.” He stressed
