The President of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs and the Paramount Chief of the Chiana Traditional Area in the Kassena-Nankana West District, Pe Ditundini Adiali Ayagitam has appealed to members of the Association of Educational Accountants Ghana (AEA) to ensure proper checks and balance in the procurement process to reflect their motto of integrity and accountability. Speaking in an address at the Association’s 2019-2020 national annual conference held at GNAT Conference Hall in Bolgatanga, the Paramount Chief observed with checks and balance, hidden lapses and malfeasance can easily be identified and rectified to execute their profession with high ethical principles and also work within the tenants of probity and accountability. The 2019-2020 National Conference and annual general meeting were on the theme “Strengthening Controls in Public Financial Management in Ghana Education Service, the role of the Accountant. The Association of Educational Accountants Ghana (AEA) appealed to the government through the Ghana Education Service (GES) to challenge its members with promotional benefits to motivate them. The association wants its members who are Chartered Accountants to be promoted to the position of Payroll Auditors at various Educational Institutions. GES accountants drawn from all the sixteen regions of Ghana were admonished to give the best technical advice to the headmasters and develop a good rapport with them whilst, helping to monitor the work of the teachers, especially the non-teaching staff since the non-teaching staff give much credence to the accountants and take instructions from them more than the headmasters and their assistants. They were charged to ensure value for money in the management of resources at their disposal by strictly following procurement laws. The leadership of the association said they will present a paper on an anomaly to TEWU of TUC Ghana concerning the promotion of Principal Accountants to the rank of Deputy Chief Accountants without a responsibility allowance. They noted that the association was in talks with TEWU of TUC to see how GES could occasionally pay for the cost of its member who may want to pursue professional academic courses. Touching on the need to practice within the professional ethics, members of the association especially the young ones were urged to see their academic advancement as a stepping stone to achieving the professional heights. It’s dangerous to think we’ve won- Info Minister

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, over the weekend, admonished NPP campaigners not to think the 2020 election is an already done deal. Leading a street and House Campaign in Akyem Ayirebi in the Eastern Region, Mr. Nkrumah warned that the opposition NDC should not be underestimated in their ability to hoodwink Ghanaians in the last two weeks of the election. ”We have worked hard, but the most important thing now is to avoid complacency and ensure all-pro NPP registered voters cast their ballots correctly on Dec 7” he said. Distributing handbills and educating voters on how to vote, Mr. Nkrumah warned that any NPP member who assumes the election has been won already poses a danger to the cause of the party. ”We need to work hard because our future as a country depends on this election. All of us must work as though we were still in opposition. We must not stop knocking on doors, visiting shops and lorry stations until we secure a wide margin victory for Nana Addo and his MPs” he added. JUST IN: NPP Members Defacing Their Candidate’s Billboards In Bolga East

Apexnewsgh.com is learning that there is an ongoing misunderstanding between the governing Constituency party executives and District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Bolgatanga East Constituency. Information picked by Apexnewsgh.com has it that supporters of the NPP seating Constituency Chairman David Akologo and supporters of the District Chief Executive Emmanuel Abole are not in a good relationship even as the country is heading to the December 7 poll. This misunderstanding has seen them in recent times bewitching themselves in one unfortunate way or the other. In a recent Facebook post sighted by apexnewsgh.com early hour of Sunday, November 22, 2020, which was posted by Aide to the DCE Adugbire Adoliyine Cletus following the continuous act of defacing their own party billboards bearing pictures of their own Parliamentary candidate who doubles as the current DCE. “Please, the disgruntled NPP members in Bolga East Constituency who are going round defacing our billboards should please show up for an amicable settlement.” Some time ago in October, the Aide to the DCE on his Facebook wall accused the NDC in the Bolga East and supporters of Dr. Dominic Ayine of perpetuating such act, which NDC and their Parliamentary candidate Dr. Dominic Ayine later refuted the accusation. However, Apexnewsgh.com is also learning that out of the 17 Party Constituency Executives in the Bolgatanga East Constituency, the DCE who is the Parliamentary candidate only feels comfortable working with 3 of the Executives.
