Stephen Ntim, Kwabena Agyapong to be named ministers in Akufo-Addo’s new govt – Report

Information from a very reliable source available to MyNewsGh.com indicates that party stalwarts like Stephen Ayesu Ntim, Former National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP); Kwabena Agyapong and Dan Botwe are likely to be appointed as substantive ministers in the new government of Nana President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Samuel Abu Jinapor now Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo and Sylvester Tetteh, Member of Parliament(MP) Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency are also expected to be appointed. Our sources indicate that following the abysmal performance of the government in the just-ended elections, there has been the need to bring on board some of the old folks who have strong roots in the party in order to avert a disconnect that played to the disadvantage of the NPP. According to a classified report, one of the reasons for the performance of the NPP in the just-ended election was due to poor connection of the appointees to the grassroots of the party as conceded by Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong. He believes that appointees’ arrogance gave the party problems in the 2020 elections as they constantly stayed off from the persons who worked tirelessly to ensure its victory. The maverick politician says the party’s base was not treated fairly and going forward, it is imperative that such things do not happen. He disclosed that contracts were given out to stalwarts in the NDC by Akufo-Addo’s appointees when people who had sacrificed for the party wallowed in impoverishment and pain. “Some things make me angry. Can you imagine that even Rawlings was given contracts? Look at the way we treated the party people. Look at the work Akufo-Addo did, he cannot do everything that is why he appointed these people but arrogance is what they satisfied. When Rawlings coughs then they start to run.” Meanwhile, the Ashanti youth is calling for more ministerial positions for the Ashanti Region. They argue that some appointees were based outside the country and only returned to take up appointments. A number of Ashanti youths are also rooting for Kwabena Agyapong to be included as he has served the party so well over the years. As a former Campaign Manager for Nana Addo and former General Secretary of the party, it was in order that he is appointed into the government, they argued. Sources also say since Stephen Ntim is from both Bono and Ashanti regions, and with his commitments and connections with the grassroots of the party, it will serve the party well if his effort is recognized in the second term of Nana Addo. Dan Kwaku Botwe who is also the MP for Okere many argue, is also a grassroots man to the extent that he deserves even the position of chief of staff to help galvanize the party for victory 2020. I never threatened President Akufo-Addo on UTV – Bulldog

Artiste Manager, Bulldog has explained into details his comment on United Television last Saturday about President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo refusal to pay customers of gold dealership firm, Menzgold. The artiste manager making a submission on UTV’s United Showbiz said that suggestions that customers invested at their own peril hence, cannot hold the government responsible for the inconvenience caused them is unacceptable. “We’ll get our monies back else Nana Addo will run; he won’t finish his 4 years. I’m telling you. He won’t finish his 4 years,” he said. The comment has however been widely spread on social media with many indicating Bulldog threatened the President of Ghana. However, making another appearance on the ‘Best Entertainment Show’ on Okay FM Monday morning, Bulldog said his comment has been taken out of context. To Bulldog, he was not threatening the President but drumming home the need for the government to pay the Menzgold clients. “We were talking about the Menzgold issue last Saturday on UTV and my thing about Menzgold is not a hidden agenda. I was a customer of Menzgold which I have a lot of money there. I’m part of over 800, 000 people who got their cash locked up there so I’m aggrieved and anytime the issue comes up, I speak with passion and highly emotional. I can’t actually hide it until the right thing is done. “So, the issue came up for discussion which I indicated the money will come else the President will run. I meant the pressure we will give him would surely amount to him giving directive for our monies to be paid. We can even decide to march to the Jubilee House in a very peaceful protests or we won’t stop talking – that was the run I meant and not the interpretation people are giving all over.” He added, “I can never and ever threaten the President. First of all, it is not in my power to do that. I don’t have any personal issues with the President and anytime I refer to him, I refer to his office. “There has been a few times I have applauded him on developments under his tenure, people seemed not to value that but rather this. I recommended him for the Year Of Return agenda but this Menzgold thing has to be worked on.” Justice Walker Junior, Contributor Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. NDC Accused NPP For Masterminding Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey Recent Robbery Attack

National Democratic Congress Volta Regional Secretariat has said they believes recent attacks on Kwame Dzudzorli, the Member of Parliament for the Keta Constituency are politically initiated. it has emerged that the newly-elected Member of Parliament, suffered two robbery attacks in separate operations since winning the elections in December, the recent incident happening on Sunday, when some suspected armed robbers attacked the Gas filling station belonging to the MP. The first robbery incident which left the MP and his family brutalized as they made away with some monies, took effect on December 11, 2020 at his Anlo-Afiadenyiga residence by unidentified gunmen. However, after the recent attack on Sunday, the NDC is pointing fingers on members of the NPP and they believes the attacks have been carried by persons believed to be members of the New Patriotic Party’s vigilante group who are not happy with the success the MP has chocked. In a statement issued by the party’s regional secretary, James Gunu on Sunday captured by Apexnewsgh.com, the party maintained that the act was a deliberate attempt to reduce the party’s parliamentary seats in the just ended December 7, elections. “We consider this armed attack by suspected NPP hoodlums as part of the grand scheme by the Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP to reduce our majority seats in Parliament and President John Dramani Mahama’s overwhelming win in the just ended Parliamentary and Presidential elections. These armed attacks such as the armed invasion of the house of the NDC MP-elect for Jomoro Constituency tend to follow a similar pattern,” the statement said. “These barbaric and sadistic acts also bear the fingerprints of an organized, planned, well-rehearsed sinister agenda of the Akufo-Addo-led NPP to divert attention from the stolen election. It is also our contended position that these midnight attacks by such insidious armed NPP militia are being executed with the tacit support of the NPP leadership with the view to kill, seize and destroy our pink sheets. The diabolic and evil agenda is to use these as a pretext to mount legal challenges in order to reduce the NDC parliamentary strength,” the statement added. However, the Volta Regional Secretariat has promised to give persons who help to arrest the perpetrators an amount of GHS 10,000. John Boadu fast gaining notoriety for ‘talking by heart’ – NPP’s Lawyer Nana Yaw Osei

Private Legal Practitioner and a former member of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Disciplinary Council, lawyer Nana Yaw Osei has berated his party’s General Secretary, John Boadu, describing him as one that talks without recourse to critical reasoning, MyNewsGh.com reports. Speaking on Kumasi-based Abusua FM with senior media practitioner, Kojo Marfo on the station’s political talk show dubbed ‘Bresosem’, the NPP stalwart explained that utterances from persons within his party led to the defeat of their nominee in the just-ended parliamentary speakership election. Citing an example of John Boadu’s speeches, Lawyer Nana Yaw Osei stated that statements like publicly denouncing the Fomena MP, Lawyer Andrews Amoako Asiamah and further asking him to reapply to join the party if he so wishes to be a member so they can take him through the process is but a few examples of some utterances of his that is dearly costing the NPP. “Kojo, on this matter, one of the people that should be blamed is John Boadu. John Boadu is gaining notoriety for speaking by heart. He should be measured in his public utterances,” he accused. Background Former MP for Nadowli Kaleo, Alban Sumana Bagbin of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been elected Speaker of the 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic. He won through a chaotic, closely contested secret ballot in the Chamber of Parliament on Thursday, January 7, against the NPP’s nominee and former Speaker, Prof Aaron Mike Oquaye. One of the oldest serving MPs polled 138 votes against his predecessors 136 with one legislator failing to vote. Mr Bagbin makes history for being the first Speaker of Parliament who is not selected by the governing party. As the blame game continues on why the NPP failed to have their nominee being elected as Speaker of the house, Leader of the New Patriotic Party caucus in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has disclosed that bribes were paid to some members of the NPP to vote against Prof. Mike Ocquaye. Jan 6-7 is about Carlos and Ursula and not about J Jinapor, Muntaka, and Sam George et al– Gabby Asare
