Gather boldness, confidence to speak against situation that challenges you – Duncan Williams

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, Founder and General Overseer of the Action Chapel International, has urged Christians to arise in prayer and speak to their challenges. In a sermon at the Prayer Cathedral, on the theme: “Your Words Matter; Never Hold your Peace,” he said in challenging times like the COVID-19 crisis, it was important for believers to intensify prayers of intercession to seek God’s face in the challenges they faced. He urged them to be courageous in challenging times and boldly speak to their problems for a change. Archbishop Duncan Williams said being courageous was not the absence of fear but the ability to take action irrespective of fear. “Gather the boldness and confidence to speak against the situation that challenges you,” he said. The Archbishop said holding services through virtual platforms was convenient to many but not comparable to “corporate worship” and prayed for situations to normalise for Christians to meet and worship as a family. “I pray that one of these days we will all come together and fellowship in a corporate atmosphere,” he said. LGBT+: Let’s handle this issue the way a loving and angry God would handle it–Edward Adeti

Investigative Journalist with EIB Network and based in the Upper East Region, Edward Adeti has poured his view on the controversial LGBT+ Issue. According to the Facebook post issued by the investigative Journalist Edward Adeti captured by Apexnewsgh.com “We need no reminder that we cannot escape God. If you are gay or whatever else, you shouldn’t be proud of it; run to God if your efforts can’t help it. If you are anti-gay, handle it the way God would handle it, with love though angry”. Below is the full post on Facebook:  My Take on the LGBT+ Issue Those who do what is wrong may succeed in convincing Caesar but they cannot run away from God. God cannot be wrong and we cannot escape Him. Let us say no to the wrong they do but let us do so with the warning and the love of the same loving and angry God. The tone of my statement is informed by the tearful confession of somebody who knew God frowned upon his act but said he felt hopelessly trapped in an unwanted body and felt helpless in that trap. The person looked close to suicide. Even if Caesar grants you liberty by permitting you to do what God says is wrong, this freedom has no future. Let’s handle this issue the way a loving and angry God would handle it. We need no reminder that we cannot escape God. If you are gay or whatever else, you shouldn’t be proud of it; run to God if your efforts can’t help it. If you are anti-gay, handle it the way God would handle it, with love though angry. It reminds me of when I caught a poor-looking judicial service worker on tape extorting money in the line of duty. I decided to warn him and to leave him after I had caught him. I freed him because he was so destitute and near-homeless that, if he got sacked, his already-poor children would suffer and he himself might die shortly after. I observed that he did what he did not because he was greedy but because he was needy. So, I left him. Afterall, I’m doing my investigations in the interest of the needy against the interests of the greedy. Nobody is perfect yet. Let us continue to pursue perfection and what is right. Let us help those who are not happy being in their state just as God, our Source, would. If we fail to handle things well, we will blame ourselves for that failure. Let us remind them also that people may convince Caesar today but in the end they cannot escape God. And if you are an office holder and you have accepted any form of inducement to use your position to encourage people to do what God says is wrong, the regrettable end of the matter, remember, is not going to be between you and Caesar; it is going to be you and this same God. There is a Day to account. Let us tell them it is wrong because God says so. And let us tell them with love because the same God is Love. Trust me, God did not create any soul to exist in misery. There is hope for everyone. Let’s handle things as God Himself would today. Tell them it is wrong. Say it as God says it is. Condemn the sinful practice but tell them with love. Save those who want to be saved. They are your own. Don’t ‘shoot’ them. Let us tell them it is far riskier to disobey an unchanging God than to seek and grab approval from a fallible Caesar to do something God does not accept. Let us tell them and let us tell ourselves (the other species of sinners) that there is hope to escape what is coming. Those who will hear gradually will hear. I put full-stop here by saying our passion should not leave our compassion behind. Prediction: Chelsea and Manchester United match prediction

After sharing the spoils with Southampton, Chelsea will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Manchester United at their Stamford Bridge. The Blues have been producing fine showings ever since Thomas Tuchel took over the reins, and, no doubt, they are capable of securing a top-four finish. Chelsea are eyeing their third consecutive win at home in the national championship, but the game against the Red Devils will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Defender Thiago Silva should be the only absentee in the home team. Man Utd, on the other hand, faced no difficulties in a 3-1 win over Newcastle United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops aim to keep their title hopes alive, but beating Chelsea in London is easier said than done. Even though Paul Pogba is the only absentee in the away team, share of spoils is on the cards. This match will be played on 28/02/2021 at 16:30 Prediction: 1-1 Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Contact: 0555568093

Prediction: Leicester City and Arsenal match prediction

All eyes will be on King Power Stadium when Leicester City and Arsenal take on each other in the Premier League round 26. The Foxes are enjoying yet another season to remember, with the team sitting in the third position in the standings. Brendan Rodgers’ men are on the right track to book their place in the Champions League, but they need to keep on impressing if they are to secure a top-four finish. Justin, Fofana, Perez, Praet, and Morgan remain sidelined with injuries, while Maddison should be fit to face Arsenal. The Gunners, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Man City. Arsenal have been producing fine displays in 2021, and seeing that Aubameyang has found his goalscoring touch of late, both teams to score betting option should be considered. Thomas Partey should be the only absentee in the away side. This match will be played on 28/02/2021 at 12:00 Prediction: 2-2 Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Contact: 0555568093

Prediction: Crystal Palace and Fulham match prediction

Selhurst Park will host Sunday’s London derby between Crystal Palace and Fulham, the two teams who defeated Brighton and Sheffield United respectively at the weekend. The Cottagers did well to keep their survival hopes alive, but they need to keep on making progress if they are to avoid relegation to the Championship. Fulham are desperate to climb to the safe zone in the Premier League standings, and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against their local rivals. Ademola Lookman, who scored the winner at the weekend, will be the man to watch in the away team. The Eagles, on the other hand, are stuck in the middle of the table, meaning that they have little to play for in the season finale. The visitors want this win more than the hosts, who will be without key player Wilfried Zaha in the London derby. This match will be played on 28/02/2021 at 12:00 Prediction: 0-1 Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Contact: 0555568093

I won’t legalise same-sex marriage in Ghana – Akufo-Addo breaks silence

President Akufo-Addo says it will not be under his presidency that marriage between persons of the same sex will be legalized in the country. The President’s pronouncement comes in the wake of pressure on the executive arm of government to come clear and state its position on activities of persons who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer. (LGBTQ+) “For same-sex marriage to be legalized in Ghana, it will not happen in my time as President”, Akufo-Addo stated emphatically. President Akufo-Addo made the remark at the St. Micheal and All Angels Cathedral in Asante Mampong during the installation of the Second Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Ghana.     “I have said it before, and let me stress it again, that it will not be under the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo that same-sex marriage will be legal”, he stressed. The recent opening and subsequent closure of an LGBTQI office in Ashongman in Accra generated public conversations on the issue. While some say the practice when allowed will serve interests that are abhorrent to the culture and values of the Ghanaian people, others have insisted that the rights of LGBTQIs must be protected like anyone else. Many religious bodies, Parliamentarians, Ministers-Designates, human right advocates, supporters of the movement and other relevant stakeholders, in particular, have all waded into the debate for the legalization or criminalization of homosexuality in Ghana. Nana Addo on homosexuality in 2018 This is the second time President Akufo-Addo is publicly declaring his stance on the controversial subject. ‘ In 2018, the President gave the first of his indication that he will never amend the laws of the country to allow for same-sex marriage. For him, such consideration was never on his government agenda. He made the declaration at a similar church ceremony during the synod of the Global Evangelical Church in Accra. It followed an interview the President granted with international news network, Al-Jazeera on Ghana’s position on homosexuality. What the police has said The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanuh has said LGBTQI activities remain illegitimate in Ghana. As a result, the Police as law enforcers would continue to apply Ghana’s laws on such issues. Mr. Boanuh maintains that until the constitution acknowledges LGBTQI, his outfit would not condone the activities of LGBTQI persons in the country. The police chief gave the caution saying: “Currently, there are some laws on LGBT in Ghana. We in the police will enforce the law as far as the limits of the laws are concerned. Therefore, as long as those laws remain in our statute books, we are going to enforce them. If the people of Ghana by way decide that they are going to legitimize it and is taken off from our books, we are okay with it. But until that is done, we will ensure that the laws are complied with”, he said. The IGP has thus advised that while at it, people must not to take the laws of the country for granted as the police would not spare anyone who flouts the law saying “let us not take the laws into our own hands”. “The whole point I am making is that we should not take the laws into our hands. Whatever may happen, we should leave the security agencies to use the applicable laws to deal with the situation,” he added. citinewsroom Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. You’re in contempt of the people, retract and apologise for your comment – Kwaku Azar tells Judicial Service

Professor Stephen Kwaku Asare, known popularly as Kwaku Azar, has lashed the Judicial Service of Ghana for their letter to media houses ordering the media to pull down and clear from their online platforms “hateful, spiteful, vengeful and incendiary” comments about the Justices of the Supreme Court of Ghana. According to him, the Judicial Service needs to retract their statement which has an effect of the gagging freedom of expression over the ongoing Election Petition at the Supreme Court. “The Judicial Service is in contempt of the people and it must retract and apologize for the comment with urgent dispatch,” Kwaku Azar stated in a Facebook post on Saturday 27 February 2021. Azar expressed shock that the Judicial Service would use the taxpayer’s money to hire the services of a private attorney for the purpose of issuing “threats to the taxpayers and to demand their silence on how it performs its public functions!” “I know this is Ghana, where power is knowledge, right and might,” Kwaku Azar observed. “But this is too much of an aberration and abomination even for us! Justice emanates from the people and is administered on their behalf by the Judiciary”. He continued: “It is, therefore, way below the belt for the judicial service to characterize these same people as uneducated and ill-informed, merely to justify a self-serving stricter view of permissible criticism of judges or the justice system. “The deeply flawed characterization is reminiscent of that used by a British Judge in 1899 to justify why committals for contempt by scandalizing the court is obsolete in the UK but is fit for use in small colonies, consisting principally of coloured populations (McLeod v. St. Aubyn ([1899] AC 549, p. 56). “The characterization is not just demonstrably false and utterly needless but it also appears to be a calculated effort to shield the judiciary from public accountability.” Kwaku Azar indicated that those behind the letter to the media which is very “contemptuous” have lost the right to serve in their positions, and that “they ought to resign from the service or, failing that, be fired.” Prof Asare further stated that in other jurisdictions where public scrutiny of the courts is at a higher level, the judicial services of those nations will not dare issue such a statement to those described as the fourth estate of the realm. “The people will not stand for it and will demand, insist and obtain their instant resignation or firing. We must do no less!!!” he stressed. Ghanaweb Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Contact: 0555568093

I will make sure some individuals at Sports Ministry go to jail – Isaac Dogboe

Former Bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe has sworn to cause the imprisonment of some officials at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Dogboe in social media post vowed to ensure the said persons go to jail. “I’m going to make sure some individuals at the Ministry of Sports Go to Jail. Mark It On The Wall!!!” Dogboe tweeted. Dogboe’s post was however silent on the reasons for which he would institute legal action against the persons. No name was also mentioned in the short post made on Twitter. Dogboe recently confirmed that his father Paul Dogboe is no longer part of his management team. In a Starr FM interview that Dogboe confirmed that he has made changes to backroom staff and his father was a victim of the changes. “Right now I’m self-managed, no more managed by my dad, a lot happened over the years and since I took control I said to myself, It’s time to restructure and rebuild some of the bridges that were broken.” He stated further that no malice was attached and that he still has a very good relationship with his father. “A lot of people are putting our situation in a negative light. The only thing happening between my father and me is that he’s no more training and managing me and I don’t see anything negative about that”, he said. “I informed him of my decision to want to be in charge and everything is fine, I hold my family in very high esteem. I believe if there’s any problem between myself and my father, I believe he can call and sit me down as a son and talk to me.” Ghanaweb Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications.
