In our ‘extra time’ of the program, we never expected regrettable things like this to repeat itself. That notwithstanding, I can unequivocally say that management is equally worried about the situation and is doing everything possible to resolve the ensuing issues. However, we CPTP Trainees cannot understand any reason(s) as to why our stipends are not paid. This is the season we were all looking forward to — to enjoy the Christmas with our family but only to be faced with this unexpected situation. I understand the sentiments, frustrations and hardship that Colleague CPTP Trainees are going through. I will as a leader, forget my pains and encourage my colleagues to keep fingers crossed as we anticipate payments for all eligible outstanding arrears. Without mincing any words in registering my displeasure, we can all complain and criticize management. However, let’s use constructive approach in going about this. As the saying goes, “two wrongs doesn’t make a right”. Some residents of Bolgatanga Municipality and Bongo District of the Upper East Region have lauded their representatives in Parliament following the action they claimed their MP took on their behalf during the Monday E-Levy debate. According to the minority in Parliament, the introduction of the E-Levy would disproportionately affect lower-income people and those outside the formal banking system who relied heavily on mobile money transfers, reducing overall economic activity. However, the disagreement was further triggered by the absence of the speaker, Mr. Alban Bagbin even as the house finance committee tabled the motion. The speaker had delegated his deputy to take over the house proceeding following his absence on Monday afternoon. The opposition members were irritated when the deputy speaker stood to vote on the E-levy tax. Upper East Regional Minister wishes Christians a Merry Christmas
The Upper East Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu has extended a Christmas message to Christians across the region. We are not only grateful for the birth of Christ but also offering thanks for the conduct of peaceful co-existence among ourselves. We may have had varying expectations about what we want from God, but our ultimate desire should be to see a stable and unified nation by the grace of God, we have crossed the period of certain anxiety and looking up to a prosperous future ahead”. However, he also admonished Christians to be mindful of HIV and AIDS for the prevalence rate in some parts of the region is very high. STEPHEN YAKUBU- DECEMBER, 2021 The world and Christians in particular await the birth of Jesus Christ, the savior of the world on Saturday 25th December, 2021. The day is very significant as it reassures humanity of God’s unflinching love. Out of this love, God offered to become man in all things but sin, in order to draw the universe towards salvation. Our response at Christmas is definitely one of gratitude and thanksgiving for the gratuitous love of God. We rejoice and are glad for the sheer humility of God in becoming man for our sake. We take respite in the fact that the new born will show us the way back to salvation and make the world a better place. For us in Ghana, this Christmas should mean a lot to us. We are not only grateful for the birth of Christ but also offering thanks for the conduct of peaceful co-existence among ourselves. Aludiba Foundation donates to the Christian community in Pusiga towards the 2021 Christmas Celebrations. The Aludiba Foundation has donated 200 25kg bags of rice and 83 cantons of cooking oil, and 1,000 pieces of plastic to the Christian community within the Pusiga District today, 22nd December 2021. The donation is towards this year’s Christmas celebration. The DCE of Pusiga and the Personal Assistant to Hon Hannan (Mr. Haruna Abdul-Basid) handed over the items to the beneficiaries at a brief ceremony in the Assembles of God church in Pusiga on behalf of the Founder and chairman of the Foundation, Alhaji Abdul-wahab Hanan Aludiba. Chief Hanan is also the CEO of Ghana Buffer Stock Company. The DCE seized the opportunity to applaud the Aludiba Foundation for the kind gesture, which (to him) is a Christian support screen. He articulated the desire and resolve of Alhaji Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba to continuously support the Christian groups and individuals in the District, the region and the nation as a whole. It is the wish and desire of Alhaji Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba that we all live in peace and harmony and observe the sacred celebration of Christmas, he added.
