Those who take you to IMF cannot break the 8–Kennedy Agyapong
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has said the New Patriotic Party cannot win the 2024 elections with the same faces taking the country to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a financial bailout. Engaging Party members at the ongoing NPP National Constituency Officers Welfare workshop at Koforidua in the Eastern Region Friday, Mr. Agyapong expressed disgust about the move by the government to seek a bailout from the IMF. “You are sitting here and you are smiling. IMF? What are we going to say again? Somebody texted me that I shouldn’t say anything about the IMF, I shouldn’t say anything about IMF? I will say it”. “Going into IMF is just like giving over power to NDC without a contest straightaway. Because the noise makes and I chew my own words back when I said NDC Went to IMF because of their mismanagement of the country or the economy”. “So, if NPP is going to IMF what am I going to say again? So, breaking the 8 is going to be tough. You cannot use the face of those who took us to IMF to break the 8, I won’t work. My message to you is simple, you cannot read my lips, and am not scared of anybody in the party, I will tell you the gospel truth.” Those who take you to IMF, those same faces cannot break the 8. UER: Fresh GJA executives sworn in
Recently elected executives of the Ghana Journalists Association in the Upper East Region have been sworn in by the Upper East Regional Supervising High Court Judge, Justice Charles Adjei Wilson, yesterday, Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Bolgatanga High Court. William Nlanjerbor Jalulah, General Manager of A1 Radio, was sworn in as Upper East Regional Chairman for the GJA. Fatima Sandra Astanga-Anafu, a journalist with the Ghana News Agency, (GNA) was sworn in as Vice-Chairperson, while Albert Sore, the Upper East Regional Correspondent for the Multimedia Group was sworn in as the Regional Secretary for the GJA. Joshua Asaah, News Editor at A1 Radio was also sworn in as the Treasurer of the Association. 4 other co-opted members were sworn into various positions. Speaking to the media after the brief ceremony, the Regional Chairman of the GJA, Mr. Jalulah reiterated his promise to make the Association more attractive to journalists in the region. “Over the years, the Association has not been so attractive to members or journalists. As a result of that, our number is not encouraging. Coming into office, we were aware of some of these things so we are looking at working towards making the Association attractive to journalists who otherwise are not members to join.” He again reiterated his commitment towards finding an office space for the GJA in the region.
We need to critically look at the analysis, before we can target some seats not all –Abayage
Former Ghana’s Ambassador to Italy Tangoba Abayage has said, If the party is going to give itself a very modest and realistic target in times of Parliamentary seat in 2024 elections, the party must critically look at their analysis, to identify the causes of their past abysmal performance. “I think, first of all, we should look at the analysis is important, the analysis will be able to tell us… and the analysis shouldn’t be raw data and it shouldn’t just be quantitative analysis, it should be qualitative”. She insists “There should be reasons why we got what we got from polling stations that should be able to tell us we performed terribly, but from the analysis this is why we performed terribly, if only we could get these things that made us performed terribly fixed, we will be able to annex the seats”. We should be able to do that and then, do targeting of some particular seat, not all seats, there is no way we can win all. Navrongo: 7 out of 10 elected constituency executives were from my camp–Tangoba Abayage
Former Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage has refuted claims that the camp of late Kofi Adda won the majority of Navrongo Constituency Executive positions at the just-ended internal party constituency elections. Speaking during a One on One interview at Dreamz Fm a local radio station in the Regional Capital Bolgatanga monitored by Apexnewsgh.com, the former ambassador said, out of the 10 elected Navrongo constituency executives in the just-ended internal party elections, 7 were with her camp. “David Samari was with me, he was in our camp, Jacob Ncho is in our camp, David Anafo was with us, Ganiu was with us, Dan. B was with us, and Dennis was with us. How many were elected? 10, and out of the 10 elected, 7 were with us and these are all the people who were elected. 3 were elected who were not with us. Even the 3 who were elected, who were not with us, one of them eventually fell off, and am not going to mention names. So, two are hardcore of Kofi Adda’s camp”. Giving her response during the program, she admitted that is a difficult task to be responding to such debates because she believes they need to move on as a party. “ Is very difficult for me to say this because I want us to move on for goodness sake. This whole Tangoba –Kofi Adda thing has hurt us. If we are wise, we drop it and forget that thing about somebody’s team won and somebody’s team lost, it is Navrongo that won”. Tempane DCE hands over housing facilities as part of Temde relocation process
The Tempane District Chief Executive (DCE) Issaka Anabida has commissioned a housing facility at Kugzua as part of the relocation project for houses affected by the construction of the multipurpose irrigation dam at Tamde. According to the DCE, the said facility is for the Tengindana of the community. Mr. Anabida told the media, that the fully furnished housing structure has 14 bedrooms with a master bedroom, 2 kitchen apartments, 2 baths, two KVIP toilets (detached), two lobbies, 2 stores, and nice-looking furnished corridors. The facility is nicely graveled with quarry chippings. He said, the land for the said structure was released to the contractor on November 7, 2021, and as of July 1, 2022, it’s ready for use. However, expressing gratitude for the kind gesture from the Assembly, the beneficiary thanked the DCE and government for responding to their calls.
