Germany faces severe storms across the country
There has been a severe damage in parts of Germany as a result of flood and fallen trees. Report say, rail traffic is mostly affected across the country, and as a result some routes are shutdown. In some parts of Germany, there have been storms after the heat of the past few weeks. From the centre, south and south-west of Germany, roofs, fallen trees, flooded cellars and hail damage to buildings have already been reported. Deutsche Bahn spoke of considerable restrictions in train traffic nationwide and lifted the train connection for trips planned today and on Friday. Cause Fajri who was Obese Died According to information from the RSCM, the cause of obesity Fajri died due to multiple infections. The RSCM admitted that they had tried optimally in nursing Fajri so that he would return to stability, but multiple organ failure occurred due to septic shock. “Multidisciplinary therapy consisting of specialists in intensive care (intensivis), pulmonary, cardiac, digestive, nerve, skin, vascular surgery, nutrition, medical rehabilitation, and other health workers has optimized all efforts to treat MF (Muhammad Fajri) so that he returns. stable,” said the RSCM Press. But he still didn’t want to go to the hospital, so that eventually his condition worsened, so he was taken to the hospital,” said the specialist. Anesthesia RSCM Sidhartha Kusuma Manggala. “So indeed Mr. MF’s own condition when he came to our hospital was indeed in a bad condition,” he continued. Lung and heart problems are getting worse Sidharta said that in the last month Fajri had started unable to sleep on his back. He said that when he entered the hospital, Fajri already had medical problems related to cardio respiration or lung and heart problems. “After that, Mr. MF, after being here, the tightness was getting worse, so he needed breathing assistance. Drive Electric Initiative will prevent Ghana from becoming a dumping ground for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles—Energy Ministry
The Energy Ministry has revealed that Drive Electric Initiative will prevent Ghana from becoming a dumping ground for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles which are becoming outmoded in the European Union and other countries He said, with Ghana’s ambitious target of achieving renewable energy commitment under the Paris Agreement, the country will not only be spearheading the drive for electric vehicles but leading Africa into clean and sustainable energy production and utilization. According to the Deputy Minister of Energy Hon. Herbert Krapa who was represented by the Deputy Director at the Ministry of Energy Mrs. Doris Doudu, the recent report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) makes it clear that the world has less than 10 years to switch to renewable energy to avoid catastrophic climate change. “It is not so much a “lifestyle choice”, but a necessity for survival for everyone to switch to Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the next few years and contribute to the reduction of global warming”. He acknowledged the Drive Electric Initiative as an innovative move by the Ministry of Energy and the Energy Commission to achieve the following: Increase electricity demand sustainably to match supply as a way of partially addressing the electricity generation over capacity; To prevent Ghana from becoming a dumping ground for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles which are becoming outmoded in the European Union and other countries; and To usher in an era of green and sustainable technology for the future and help to deal with environmental pollution as vehicular population grows. Ghana is blessed with several petroleum discoveries in recent times. Significant amounts of gas discoveries have also been made. Our current installed capacity of 5400MW is significantly more than our current peak demand of about 3700MW. At this current rate, Ghana will need to create demand within the system to take the excess supply of electricity.4 In addition to current oil and gas discoveries, the solar energy potential is enormous and can be harnessed to provide clean and sustainable energy for mobility. Responding to the question ‘why electric vehicle’? the Minister said, “Climate and emissions concerns have brought the adoption of EVs to the forefront in recent times. The governments of some of the biggest automotive markets around the world have not only declared their intentions but have taken bold steps to embrace EVs to take dramatic steps to curb emissions. France and the United Kingdom (UK) are looking to ban the sale of gas and diesel-powered vehicles beginning 2023 and completely by 2040. China, the largest auto market in the world has publicly started charting a plan for an all-out ban on vehicles powered by internal combustion engines”. He believes is time for Ghana and Africa to follow suit and make plans towards embracing electric vehicles ourselves in order to harness our enormous solar energy potential productively to meet our climate emission targets while simultaneously providing clean and affordable means of transport. “The Drive Electric initiative will enable us to increase our electricity intake and as such increase the much-needed demand we need to reduce or eliminate the payment of high-capacity charges while meeting our climate targets”. Giving a brief information about Electric Vehicles the Minister says studies have shown that it takes about three to ten minutes to fill up a petrol or diesel engine car at a filling station with enough fuel to travel about 300 miles, costing about $35 in the USA. To travel 300 miles in a small EV passenger car would need three full charges of a typical 25kWh battery used to power these vehicles costing about $2.50 per charge in the USA with electricity priced at $0.10 per unit (kWh). The enormous savings one makes on using EV is so huge compared to petrol or diesel engine vehicle. The low energy cost is one of the attractions of owning an EV. What will the Drive Electric campaign offer Ghana? The National Energy Transition Framework as part of its decarbonization activities seeks to promotes and ensure the use of electric vehicle as an alternative cleaner efficient means of transportation. The use of electric vehicles in the country will promote renewable energy and also contribute to reduction in pollution. As is already apparent, pollution in cities is killing people, affecting the physical and mental development of children and raising a case for the urgent need to change to EVs, walking, cycling, and electric mass transit. Ghana will be one of the first to set an example that West Africa and for that matter Africa can be a part of the success story of electric mobility. Baseline study by Energy Commission reveals that; The Energy Commission put together the Baseline Committee made up of; Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Energy, Energy Commission, Ahenkorah &partners, PURC, KNUST, GRA, ECG, DVLA and GRA to establish a baseline report for the EV industry in Ghana and to equip public and private sector institutions working in the EV space with the knowledge and tools required to steer progress in the e-mobility space in Ghana, drawing on surveys and research in the sector. Findings from the survey Ghana has four level 2 charging stations, available to the public but all are located in Accra. One POBAD charging station located at the A&C Mall in East Legon, two Porsche charging station located at Palace Mall and Kempinski Hotel respectively and Total Energies charging station located at 37. Survey results indicate that the skills for EV servicing i.e. maintenance and repair are in short supply in Ghana. Only three (3) EV dealerships reported having functional service facilities and well-trained technicians. But many more dealerships are willing to venture into EV maintenance with the appropriate training and support. There is huge gap in terms of awareness of the benefits of e-vehicles and its evident in how most Ghanaians react to owing an EV according to survey results among EV owners. The Influx Of Fulanis To Nangodi And Nabdam Communities Is A Threat To Peace And Security In Nabdam District—Mike Zure
It has emerged that the people of Nabdam have started registering displeasure with the current influx of Fulanis in their community forest. In a tagged Facebook post written by a patriotic Nabdam citizen Mr. Mike Zuri on Thursday, June 22, 2023, he raised concerns about the mass movement of Fulanis last week from Sherigu and Bolgatanga stadium to Nangodi as a result of the recent clashes between the people of Sherigu and the Fulanis. Mr. Zuri without missing any words has described the Fulani’s movement as a serious threat to the peace and security of Nabdam, insisting that this must be resisted without fear or favour. READ HIS FULL STATEMENT BELOW: The recent influx of Fulanis to Nangodi and some communities in Nabdam is a threat to peace, lives, livelihoods, farms and the environment in Nabdam. These Fulanis fight our people, steal our animals, destroy our farms, rob our people, threaten and or rape our women and destroy our environment. Many armed robbery cases occuring in the forest in Sekoti and between Nangodi and Bawku District are attributed to Fulani people. Many cattle are being stolen daily in the Nangodi forest where some Fulanis are based. My family experienced this in 2009 when eight of my father’s cattle went into the forest to graze and were stolen. Another horrifying experience is when about five years ago, my elder brother who is a Headteacher was attacked together with others in the forest and robbed. My brother tried fighting back but had no support from the other victims and was beaten badly. It is by God’s grace that he survived the cruel beatings and did not die. I understand since 2021 to date, there has been an alarming rate of Fulanis invading Nangodi and some Nabdam communities. The mass movement of Fulanis last week from Sherigu and Bolgatanga stadium to Nangodi as a result of the recent clashes between the people of Sherigu and the Fulanis is a serious threat to the peace and security of Nabdam and this must be resisted without fear or favour. I am told there are ongoing community meetings to appropriately address the Fulanis invasion. I support the initiative and say bravo to the organizers of the ‘Fulanis Must Leave Forum’ (FuMLeF). I commend the vibrant and vigilant youth of Nangodi for resisting attempts by the police to resettle the problematic Sherigu Fulanis in Nangodi. Let us continue to stand strong and fight to defend our land. The majority of our people are farmers and depend daily on the land for survival, therefore it would be unfair to allow the Fulanis to deprive us and our future generations of our very existence. We can recall with pride, the sacrifices, commitment, bravery, and foresight of Mrs. Stella Yembilah and Dr. Yembilah when they led the Nangodi community to fight against the settlement of Fulanis in Nangodi forest in 2002. We salute Mrs. Stella Yembilah and Dr. Yembilah and the youth of Nangodi for their foresight and fight to drive out the Fulanis from Nangodi forest either wise, the story of Nabdam would have been worse than the Fulanis crisis in Agogo, Ejura, Bongo, Sherigu, etc. In the 2002 Nangodi-Fulani clashes, three young men from Nangodi were wrongfully put in police cells for two weeks. Luckily Mama Stella Yembilah rang Lawyer Ambrose Dery (the current Minister of Interior) who traveled from Accra to Bolga to secure bail for the boys. I wish to also salute Tii Yarigbil (Yidaan), Mogbon Kumdah, Bawah Kumdah, Mahama Yenzie, Paul Yadoug, and the following Tengdaanas; Nyamgbe Babil, Tenga Tule, and Nyak Tobig-Rorgh for showing great commitment to the 2002 fight against the Fulanis and for standing firm by Mrs. Stella Yembilah and Dr. Yembilah when they were put at Police Counter back. The battle against Fulanis was won two decades ago and we should not allow Fulanis to be resettled in Nangodi to make the sacrifices of our fathers and mothers to be in vain. The Police, Regional Minister, and ECOWAS do not feed the people of Nangodi and therefore they should not support the Fulanis to deprive Nabdams of our livelihoods and existence. Most of the kidnappings, killings, and security problems in Nigeria are allegedly caused by Fulani people and we don’t want the same to happen in Nabdam District. The Fulanis should leave our forest. WE WANT PEACE IN NABDAM.
