Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has donated GH¢20,000 towards the construction of the Bolgatanga Central Mosque project. Apexnewsgh reports On Friday, May 17, 2024, Dr. Bawumia joined his fellow Muslims at the Bolgatanga Central Mosque for Jummah prayers as part of his campaign tour of the Upper East Region. During the prayer session, Dr. Bawumia requested special prayers to be offered to the Almighty Allah for his victory in the 2024 election. The Upper East Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Yussif Umar Imam, received the donation and expressed gratitude to the flagbearer for his selfless service to the cause of Allah and humanity. However, a citation was handed over to him by the Muslim leadership acknowledging some of his contributions to the community. Prayers were also said for the leadership of the country, seeking God’s guidance and protection, as well as for the sustenance of peaceful co-existence among citizens. Bawumia to pay Divisional Chiefs, and Queen Mothers “Living Wage” if elected

Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to amend Section 63, D of the Chieftaincy Act of the 1992 Constitution to empower traditional rulers to support the governance of Ghana. Apexnewsgh reports Addressing the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs in Bolgatanga as part of his campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia promised to pay Chiefs, Divisional Chiefs, and Queen Mothers a “Living Wage” if elected as the next President of Ghana. Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of healthcare, stating that the government’s Agenda 111 Complete Hospital project aims to bring healthcare delivery to the people’s doorstep. He announced that seven of these projects are being constructed in the Upper East Region, with some at various stages of completion. Additionally, he pledged to upgrade the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital to a befitting regional hospital. The Vice President also promised to establish District Mining Committees, where chiefs would play an active role in issuing mining licenses to small-scale miners in all mining districts.
