Alhaji Adia Imran Tanko, the Regional Patron of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Zongo Caucus Coordinator, has made a generous gesture by donating 1000 T-shirts to support the Zongo communities. The Deputy Regional Organizer, John Nyaaba, received the donation and later handed it over to Salifu Alukuba, the Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator. Following same procedures, Nyaaba also handed 500 T-shirts to Aminu Shaibu, Bolga Central Zongo Coordinator, specifically for the Bolgatanga Central Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Isaac Adongo, and the Zongo communities. The remaining 500 T-shirts were distributed among other constituencies. The People Of Bolga Central Deserve An Unqualified Apology From Tv3
The recent article alleging that Hon. Isaac Adongo, Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, declined an invitation from TV3 for a debate is entirely inaccurate and misleading. In contrast to these assertions, Hon. Adongo diligently endeavoured to accommodate TV3’s community manifesto program, adjusting his schedule on multiple occasions to meet their requests. TV3 consistently neglected to adhere to the agreed-upon schedule, repeatedly deferring the event without apologising for the inconvenience. The constituents of Bolgatanga Central deserve a sincere, heartfelt and unconditional apology from TV3 for the heinous lack of respect shown to them. Below is the chronological sequence of events that transpired that day: 1. The program was extensively advertised by TV3 to be conducted between 6 am and 10 am. 2. On the day of the program, TV3 disappointingly failed to show up at the scheduled time and neglected to notify me and my constituents. There was a complete lack of communication to inform us about any change in plans. Thereafter, we received information through unofficial channels that the program had been rescheduled to 2 pm and then to 4 pm. Despite this, TV3 failed to appear and neglected to inform us once again. This lack of professionalism and consideration is unacceptable and improper and has thus caused significant inconvenience. 4. Subsequently, we were again informed through an unofficial communication channel that the event had been shelved to commence at 8 pm. Upon the arrival of the TV3 van, it was observed that the venue needed additional seating for the stakeholders attending the program. 5. NDC party executives had arranged for the rental of plastic chairs for our members. Upon the arrival of the chairs, some opposition members from the NPP mistakenly assumed that they were provided by TV3 and attempted to occupy them, leading to resistance from our executives. Upon my arrival at the venue, I observed the absence of the TV3 host and their team, as well as a delay from the parliamentary candidate on the other side. 6. At that moment, I was informed that TV3 had rescheduled the program for the following day. 7. I would like to reiterate that I had unequivocally communicated my decision not to participate in the program after TV3 had rescheduled without my prior knowledge and consent. We feel deeply disrespected by TV3 due to their significant lack of organisation and professionalism, particularly given the esteemed reputation they uphold. Hon. Adongo is firmly committed to engaging with his constituents and upholding transparency and accountability. His decision to abstain from the debate is a direct result of TV3’s organisational shortcomings and failure to communicate appropriately rather than a reluctance to engage with his opponent.
