I have seen the video and read much of the commentary from party folks on the banter of words between Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and the reckless puppet who is unfortunately and really undeserving regional chairman for the good and warm people of the Bono region. Our brothers and sisters from the DMB side of our internal politics are all in praise for the reckless if not extreme foolishness exuded by a chairman from their camp going such a needless tirade against the person of Hon. Ken. 2. Many are focused on the responses and conveniently ignoring the causal action of Abronye in the whole discussion. Come to think of it, was all the insinuations and pesky rhetorics really needed at this forum? Did he not meet with the Prof Oquaye committee? What sense does it make to a whole regional chairman worth his sort seeking to bruise the wounds of a party in pain when the overarching objective for this tour is to see to what extent possible we can sooth the pain and heal the wound. The focus I surmise was to settle scores thus try to be a hero for his pay masters. 3. There is a clichè that posit that ” if you turn yourself into grass, you will be grazed by the donkey”. Hon. Ken’s reaction was not only spot on but served as warning to the effect that the arrogance, impunity and recklessness that did bring us to our knees will not be allowed to go unchecked and untreated. If you condemn such bold and firm response, you may not only be biased but part of the bigger problem we have in this party. 4. What distinct features must every leader possess and exude to be able to lead a country of ‘I- knows’ like Ghana? Such should be what some have called sterling paradoxes; a leader must be friendly yet firm and fearless, respectful yet resilient, calm yet courageous and such qualities can go on and on and on. That is exactly what Hon. Ken displayed; from the outset of this tour, he has been consistent with his messaging of unity, respect for all and commitment to changing our wrongdoing of the past that brought us this low. He has done same with the humility one can ever expect from a leader of his kind. He did so manifestly with his usual honest and firm disposition. 5. What changed in at the Bono region? The leadership of the party sat there unconcerned and allow one individual attack the person of another without restriction or caution. Let’s be fair folks, did we expect Ken to suddenly be come dumb when his hard earned reputation was brought to disrepute? Hell NO! Imagine for a second that he did, the propagandatabloids of ‘yaanom’ would have been awashed with commentaries of how they have succeeded thus further exercerbate the matter beyond what we are deal with now. 6. Hon. Ken demonstrated firmness, fearlessness and forthrightness with the issue and we all should be honest to appreciate that. 7. If that was an NDC verse NPP, are those criticising Ken noe telling me they would support thaof of the NDC? That’s the hypocrisy I am trying to point out. This is not arrogance, this is fairness and no one should want to stretch this. Indeed no one is happy of the fallout but this yet again tells of the quality of the current leadership we have running the affairs of this party.
