Stranger Hands Stonebwoy a Brand-New Land Cruiser V8 Within 72 Hours of Their First Meeting

It reads like something out of a movie,  but for Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy, it is a moment he lived, and one he is still struggling to fully believe. In a candid interview with Kafui Dey, the award-winning musician revealed how a chance encounter with a complete stranger in Nigeria ended with him receiving the keys to a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser V8, free of charge, within just three days. The story began simply enough. During a trip to Nigeria, Stonebwoy stepped outside his hotel for some air,  a quiet moment to decompress away from the demands of his career. It was there that he struck up a conversation with a Lebanese businessman named Rai, a man he had never crossed paths with before. What started as casual small talk quickly deepened into something more meaningful. In the course of their exchange, Stonebwoy opened up about the personal sacrifices he had made in the pursuit of his musical ambitions. He told Rai that he had sold two of his own vehicles — a beloved V8 and a Range Rover,  to raise the funds needed to stage a concert. It was the kind of raw, unfiltered honesty that can only come from someone who has truly put everything on the line for their dream. The revelation clearly left an impression. Not long after their conversation, Rai reached out with an invitation. Within 72 hours of their first meeting, Stonebwoy was handed the keys to a brand-new Land Cruiser V8,  no strings attached. “I had never met him before. In less than 72 hours, everything changed,” Stonebwoy recounted, the disbelief still evident in his voice. For the musician, the moment carried a significance far beyond the material value of the gift. It was, he said, the first time in his life he had ever received a car as a present,  and the experience moved him deeply. More than anything, he said, it reinforced a belief he has long held close: that perseverance and faith have a way of drawing unexpected blessings into your life, often from the most unlikely of places. CAF President Mourns Dominic Frimpong as Football World Grieves Berekum Chelsea Tragedy

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has added his voice to the outpouring of grief following the death of Berekum Chelsea winger Dominic Frimpong, extending his deepest condolences to the player’s family, teammates, and the wider Ghanaian football community. Frimpong, just 20 years old, lost his life following a reported armed robbery attack on the Berekum Chelsea team bus as it made its way back from a Ghana Premier League fixture,  a senseless act of violence that has sent shockwaves through football circles across the continent. In a letter addressed to Ghana Football Association President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, Motsepe did not mince words about the weight of the moment. “It is with profound sadness that I learned of the armed robbery attack on the bus of Berekum Chelsea, returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture, which claimed the life of a 20-year-old winger, Dominic Frimpong,” he wrote. Speaking on behalf of himself and the entire CAF body, Motsepe reached out to all those touched by the tragedy. “Please pass my personal and CAF’s deepest condolences to the family, friends, and teammates of Dominic Frimpong and to the Ghana Football Association,” he said, before offering a message of spiritual comfort to those in mourning. “May God comfort and console his loved ones and the entire Ghanaian football community. CAF is with you during this sad and painful period.” On the ground in Ghana, the Ghana Football Association confirmed it is in active contact with the club and the Ghana Police Service as investigations into the attack continue. Authorities have been urged to spare no effort in bringing those responsible to justice. For a young man who had his entire career ahead of him, Dominic Frimpong’s death is a reminder of the fragility of life,  and a loss that Ghana football will feel for a long time to come. GFA Completes Vehicle Rollout Across All Football Structures Under FIFA Forward Programme

Ghana’s football administration has taken another step toward building a stronger, more connected game at every level, as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presented five vehicles to key operational units under the FIFA Forward Programme,  completing a nationwide logistical rollout that now covers all regional structures and major technical and administrative bodies. The five vehicles have been allocated to two Regional Football Associations, the Technical Directorate, the GFA Headquarters, and the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence,  units that play a central role in the day-to-day running and long-term development of football across the country. The latest distribution builds on an earlier phase of the programme in which eight of Ghana’s ten administrative football regions received double-cabin pickup vehicles. At the time, the Association signalled that further vehicles would be made available to the remaining regions and key units, contingent on how responsibly the initial fleet was managed. With this latest presentation, the GFA has made good on that commitment, extending logistical support to every corner of its operational structure. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, GFA leadership made clear that the vehicles are not merely administrative assets; they are tools for driving football development on the ground. The fleet is expected to support match monitoring, programme organisation, and the growth of grassroots, juvenile, and women’s football across the country. At the Technical Directorate and the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, the vehicles are also expected to improve the efficiency of logistics and administrative operations. With the keys in hand, however, came a firm message from the Association. The GFA urged all beneficiary units to ensure the vehicles are used strictly for official purposes, properly maintained, and managed with a sense of responsibility, a reminder that the privilege of support comes with an obligation to account for it. The initiative forms part of the GFA’s broader drive to improve infrastructure and operational efficiency within Ghana football, and signals a renewed focus on ensuring that the structures supporting the beautiful game are as strong as the game itself. Hundreds of MoMo Agents Storm MTN Office Over Blocked SIMs, Frozen Funds

Anger boiled over at an MTN Ghana office in Darkuman, near Komkompe in the Greater Accra Region, as hundreds of Mobile Money agents descended on the premises in a furious protest,  their livelihoods frozen, their funds trapped, and their questions met with what they say are unsatisfactory answers. The demonstration was sparked by the sudden and unexplained deactivation of the agents’ merchant SIM cards, some of which reportedly hold millions of cedis in funds. For the affected agents, the blocking of their SIMs was not just an inconvenience; it was a direct assault on their businesses and financial security, and they were not prepared to suffer in silence. One of the agents at the centre of the storm, Kwabena Manu, recounted the moment the crisis began. At around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, he received a message from MTN informing him that his SIM had been blocked due to an alleged breach of contract. The message, he said, did not explain what that breach actually was. With no clarity and no warning, his SIM, and the funds on it,  were simply gone. Manu said he initially assumed the problem was his alone. It was only when he arrived at the MTN office and found hundreds of fellow agents in the same predicament that the true scale of the situation became apparent. What had seemed like an isolated incident was, in fact, a sweeping action affecting a large number of operators across the network. The agents’ attempts to seek answers quickly ran into a wall. Officials at the office reportedly told them that the blocked SIMs could only be reactivated upon clearance from the police or an order from a court of competent jurisdiction,  a response that did little to calm the mood of the crowd. Determined to find a resolution, the agents took their grievances to the Odorkor Divisional Police Command. But there too, the path forward proved frustrating. Police asked them to provide details of the alleged contract breach,  the very information that MTN had failed to supply. When the agents turned back to MTN for the relevant contract documents, they were reportedly told to seek redress in court. Caught in a loop with no clear exit, the agents are now calling on MTN to come to the table and engage with them directly. Their message is urgent and unambiguous: their funds remain locked, their businesses are at a standstill, and they want answers, not courtrooms. Source: Apexnewsgh.com
