Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change (M4C) Forms Alliance with Various Groups to Contest 2024 Elections

In a bid to shake up Ghanaian politics, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen’s Movement for Change (M4C) has joined forces with several political entities and individuals to establish a grand alliance and run in the upcoming 2024 general elections. Apexnewsgh reports

The M4C has successfully negotiated a partnership with the National Interest Movement (NIM), a political Civil Society Coalition helmed by Dr. Michael Abu Sakara Foster, a former flag bearer of the opposition Convention’s People’s Party (CPP), as well as other political groups and individuals.

This new coalition, dubbed the ‘Alliance for Revolutionary Change’ (ARC), aims to engage all Ghanaians from different backgrounds, specifically targeting the youth and women, regardless of their religious, political, or ethnic affiliations. The goal is to unite and mobilize citizens to elect the first independent candidate as the President of Ghana.

In a statement released on April 4, 2024, Alan Kyerematen, the founder of M4C, emphasized the alliance’s mission to break the cycle of poverty and steer the country towards a brighter future. He criticized the long-standing dominance of the NDC and the NPP, noting that these two parties have failed to adequately address the country’s developmental challenges during their combined 32 years in power.

Kyerematen highlighted the divisive nature of Ghanaian politics, the winner-takes-all mentality, and the lack of continuity in government projects as key issues that have negatively impacted Ghana’s progress. He revealed that the ARC plans to launch on April 17, 2024, with the objective of forming a Government of National Unity that includes representatives from various sectors of society.

To achieve this goal, Kyerematen emphasized the need for fundamental constitutional reforms, including improvements in governance, public sector accountability, management of natural resources, and a shift in mindset and attitudes among Ghanaians.

The formation of the ARC represents a significant development in Ghanaian politics, signaling a potential shift away from traditional party politics towards a more inclusive and collaborative approach to governance.

With the upcoming 2024 elections on the horizon, this new alliance could reshape the political landscape of Ghana in the years to come.
