CLOGSAG Declares Nationwide Strike Over New Salary Structure

Apexnewsgh

The Civil and Local Government Service Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced a nationwide strike, effective Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Apexnewsgh reports

The strike is in response to the government’s failure to implement the new salary structure for its members.

In a notice dated July 2, 2024, signed by Isaac Bampoe Addo, Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, all staff members have been directed to stay away from work until further notice. The strike action is a result of the government’s inability to meet the demands of CLOGSAG, despite previous agreements and assurances.

The new salary structure has been a long-standing issue, and the association has been engaging with the government to resolve the matter. However, the lack of progress has led to the declaration of the strike. CLOGSAG is urging all its members to comply with the directive and stay away from work until the issue is resolved.

The strike is expected to affect local government services and other related institutions across the country. The association is hoping that the strike will prompt the government to take immediate action to address their concerns and implement the new salary structure.
