In a bold move to reshape the political landscape of Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to create a new region, dubbed the Kusaug Region, in the Bawku area of the Upper East Region. Apexnewsgh reports
This promise was made by Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, who assured the people of Kusaug that the NDC would leave no stone unturned in achieving this vision.
The proposed Kusaug Region would comprise six districts: Zebilla, Binduri, Garu, Tempane, Pusiga, and Bawku. This new entity would not only redefine the administrative boundaries of the area but also unlock unprecedented opportunities for growth and development.
Former President John Dramani Mahama, who recently launched his campaign tour of the Upper East Region, echoed Ayariga’s sentiments, stating that the creation of the Kusaug Region is feasible.
Mr. Mahama noted that the population and land size of the Bawku area far exceed those of the North East Region, making a strong case for the new region.
As the people of Kusaug look to the future, they are filled with hope and anticipation. Will the NDC’s promise become a reality? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – the dream of a Kusaug Region has ignited a beacon of possibility in the hearts of its people.
