During his recent visit to the palace, Naba Halidu Bariche, the Chief of Kulungugu, had made an advance appeal with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah. Apexnewsgh reports
The Chief made a three-fold plea to the NDC, aiming to address the needs of his neglected community.
Naba Bariche passionately requested the creation of a separate constituency for Kulungugu and its surrounding areas, emphasizing the potential for more focused development and representation for his people.
The Chief further expressed concerns about the neglect of his community in key government appointments. He urged the NDC, particularly under former President John Dramani Mahama’s potential leadership, to consider his people for significant roles, hoping to bring about a sense of inclusivity and empowerment.
“When it comes to key appointments, my people has been neglected for far too long. I therefore wish that you consider my people when it comes to government appointments”. He stressed
Lastly, the Chief emphasized the critical issues of infrastructure and security. He specifically requested the rehabilitation of the Missiga-Kulungugu road, which is currently in a deplorable state. Additionally, he appealed to the NDC to help restore peace in the area, particularly addressing the long-standing Bawku conflict.
The Chief’s requests deeply resonated with the NDC’s values of unity, stability, and development. As a social democratic party, the NDC has historically championed the causes of marginalized communities and promoted national development.
