In a bid to promote peace and stability in the Upper East Region, journalists from the region have pledged to use their platforms to project peaceful messages. Apexnewsgh reports

This commitment was made during a training workshop organized by the USAID AGREE Activity, which focused on conflict-sensitive reporting, the causes of conflict, and how to handle conflicts as media practitioners.

The workshop, facilitated by Albert Sore, provided a platform for journalists to share their individual views and knowledge on conflict and how to avoid it.

Participants at the training workshop were also given the opportunity to engage with officials from USAID AGREE Activity, who threw their support behind the journalists and challenged them to come up with innovative ideas to achieve the project’s goals by March 2026.

As part of the media engagement, journalists were taken through a fact-checking process and introduced to various tools to help them unravel misinformation and disinformation.

The importance of checking headlines and publications for hate speech, a major cause of conflict, was also emphasized.

However, at the end of the workshop, the journalists had gained valuable insights into conflict-sensitive reporting and were equipped with the necessary skills to promote peace and stability in the region.
