The information has it that sixteen people have died instantly after two KIA Granbird buses collided at the Akim Asafo stretch of the Accra-Kumasi highway in Ghana.
The victims in both collided vehicles who passed away on the spot are comprising of 13 males and 3 females and dozens who sustained damming injuries were conveyed to the Suhum Government Hospital and Akim Asafo Health Center for urgent medical attention.
Meanwhile, according to the police, the regrettable accident occurred at about 1:30 am Friday with the driver of a KIA Granbird bus with registration number GT 5629-18 being of the casualties.
According to the police, they narrate upon reaching a section of the road at Akim Asafo junction, the driver made an unsafe overtaking without observing traffic from the other side. And it was on that process he crashed head-on with the other KIA Granbird bus with registration number GE5510-15, the driver unfortunately, is also now dead.
