During the 13th BONABOTO Biennial National Delegates Congress, the BONABOTO National President Prof. Samuel Awinkene Atintono clarified issues of misconceptions about the organization.
Over the years, BONABOTO as an association have received numerous criticisms from those viewing their activities as tribal and enemies of development within the region.
However, addressing the media after the first section of the congress on in Tongo on Friday December 29, Prof. Atintono emphasized that BONABOTO is a non-partisan association which is committed to advocacy and development.
He stated that BONABOTO’s role is to speak up about issues that are important to them and the community they serve. However, he made it clear that the organization is not against anyone but rather focused on promoting development.
Prof. Atintono further urged individuals from Tongo, Bolga, Nabdam, and Bongo to reconsider their negative comments about BONABOTO, highlighting the importance of unity in order to gain support.
The 13th Congress had the theme “Promoting Peaceful Co-existence, Environmental Protection, and Sustainable Development in Northern Ghana,” reflecting BONABOTO’s commitment to these vital areas.
