Could this be true? Alan considering withdrawal from Nov 4 contest ?

Former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen is reportedly contemplating the decision to withdraw from the upcoming Presidential Primary on November 4. This comes after a disappointing performance in the recent Super Delegates Conference, according to a source close to the Alan Campaign.

During the NPP Special Delegates Conference, Alan Kyerematen secured 95 out of 961 votes, putting him in a distant third place. Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the frontrunner with 629 votes (68.15%), while surprisingly, Kennedy Agyapong garnered 132 votes (14.30%) to secure second place.

Given the expectations for Alan Kyerematen, who has run for the position of flagbearer three times before, his placement behind Dr. Bawumia and even surrendering the second position to Kennedy Agyapong has disrupted the former Trade Minister’s campaign strategy.

Alan Kyerematen is expected to make an official announcement regarding his potential withdrawal from the contest

In preparation for Mr. Kyerematen’s upcoming address on Tuesday, an inside source from his team shared with 3news.com that they are seriously contemplating the option of withdrawing from the race.

“We have had extensive review of the Super Delegates election, and to be honest, the numbers we registered across the country in the Super Delegates, were not what we expected,” the source said.

“Even though we have publicly expressed our displeasure with the process, the reality is that things are not so good on the ground, and we have to honestly admit and take bold decisions.”

“withdrawing completely, withdrawing to team up with another candidate, or continuing with the process, which doesn’t really look good for us.”

“We have extensively analysed all the three and many, which I am included, are of the view that Chief Alan should withdraw, but we are not sure whether to withdraw and stay on the fence, or withdraw and stay one the fence.”

According to a reliable source, talks have taken place regarding potential mergers with candidates that did not perform well. However, a final decision has not been reached at this time.

“Chief will speak tomorrow, and all options are open, but don’t be surprised if he announces his withdrawal tomorrow.”

According to a reliable source, there is growing disenchantment among the coordinators of Alan Kyerematen’s campaign throughout the country due to the low number of votes he received. These coordinators are advocating for an immediate withdrawal in order to prevent further embarrassment in the upcoming November elections.

“I am among the vocal supporters of withdrawal because it will serve two purposes: it will strongly voice our grievances with the Super Delegates, and it will also prevent us from experiencing further embarrassment in November,” he stressed.

“However, there are others who believe that Chief Alan should remain regardless of the outcome in November, viewing withdrawal as politically incorrect. Despite this, for some of us, the truth is undeniable. We will assess the situation and make a final decision before the scheduled address tomorrow.” the source concluded
