The Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held a five-hour long questioning session with Kennedy Agyapong, a potential flag bearer for the party, on Tuesday August 29, 2023. The questioning was in response to comments made by Mr. Agyapong during a special delegates meeting in which he stated that he would challenge President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at any time.
Mr. Agyapong expressed his concern over his agent being chased from the election grounds during a telephone call. In an effort to address the challenges that arose during and after the elections, the party’s Disciplinary Committee summoned Mr. Agyapong and others to answer questions regarding their comments.
The General Secretary of the NPP condemned isolated incidents and asserted the party’s commitment to upholding the integrity and fairness of the election process. Various individuals including Raphael Patrick Sarfo, Charles Dokyi Yaw-Addo.
Honorable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has been summoned to appear before the Disciplinary Committee of his political Party to address allegations and threats made against certain individuals in a video that has gained widespread attention on social and mainstream media. This move is in accordance with constitutional provisions.
Mr. Agyapong attended the meeting at the Party’s Headquarters in Accra, where he was questioned by the committee for several hours. While he has chosen not to disclose the details of the meeting, he has assured the public that he will hold a press conference to provide further information.
