Filson Amankua, a member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, who is equally interested in the regional chairmanship position in the upcoming party internal election has said, the NDC as a social democrat are interested in driving V8 and building mansions.
According to him, “…a socialist man shouldn’t be seen driving V8, they have to go for Kantaka pick up to prove to people that you are a socialist. But unfortunately, they will sleep in their big-time mansions and some of them, their wall can build two classroom blocks or more than that with the security gadgets. So sometimes, they shouldn’t tell us they are socialist because they are also enjoying capitalists and they have a wild test for capitalism. So, it is a blend. As time goes on, we will be able to operationalize our beliefs and that time will come”. He said
However, Ing Awankua further revealed that NPP as a capitalist party is still focusing on supporting the businessmen and women to enable them expand the economy by way of creating incentives for them to thrive and blossom.
On the other hand, Mr. Amankua who is vying for the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) Regional Chairmanship position commended the Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia for buying nomination forms for all aspirants at the just ended polling station elections.
