For his kind efforts and humanitarian gesture to the people of the Upper East Region and most especially the vulnerable and the voiceless, Mr. Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen has been nominated to be honored at the 2023 Ghana-Nigeria Achievers Award in Accra.
Mr. Ngamegbulam who has been practicing as a journalist in Ghana for years has represented his country Nigeria well as a good ambassador by way of promoting Nigeria’s good image all these years without engaging himself with things that will dent the good relationship between Nigeria and Ghana.
As part of his humanitarian contribution, Mr. Ngamegbulam a man who has a massive love for Persons with Disabilities after identifying how Persons with Disabilities struggle to access the Regional House of Chief conference hall decided to construct stairways to enable them perfect access to their meeting and programme activities. The project was well appreciated by the House of Chiefs. The idea was to send a signal to authorities especially our public institutions to consider these categories of brothers and sisters by way of adding stairways in their building plan when putting a structure for public use.
However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, almost everything became shattered to both government, private, and business entities, and then, no one was thinking about the survival of the ordinary vulnerable on the streets and Persons with Disabilities. Then, Mr. Ngamegbulam thought of feeding over 150 vulnerable on the streets of Bolgatanga including Persons With Disabilities which was distributed at the Plaza Center.
Through his outfit Apexnewsgh.com, Ngamegbulam has contributed to the welfare of many in diverse ways. During the 2020 general election in Ghana, peace was preached across both mosques and churches. Everyone’s interest was to have free and fair elections.
However, thinking about the contribution he could offer to the region, Mr. Ngamegbulam went on to print dozens of handkerchiefs with peace messages on them. It was delivered to all the aspiring candidates in the Bolgatanga Constituency.
Mr. Ngamegbulam’s message to these aspirants was simple: “As a platform, we wish all of you well in the contest. Please, I am handing over these handkerchiefs to you as a candidate, kindly share them with your supporters especially those at the polling stations, as they are used to clean the heat, when they want to do something funny what was written in the handkerchief will calm them down” The aspirants were so happy with such an intervention.
It is no surprise at all that on the very first organized Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) in the Upper East Region, Mr. Ngamegbulam was honored with the award of Human Rights Reporter of the Year.
