The Upper East Regional Communication Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, has revealed that some individuals aspiring to lead the party in the 2024 general election are making regrettable comments because they have not been part of Akufo-Addo’s government.
Citing an example, Mr. Ayinbisa pointed out Dr. Apraku as one of those who have been complaining. “His problem is that Akufo-Addo promised him and yet did not give him any appointments and because of that, he is not part of the system. That is his problem,” Mr. Ayinbisa revealed.
The Regional Director who was speaking on A1 radio monitored by Apexnewsgh said, these aspiring candidates should have at this point in time focus on convincing delegates of what they could offer and their individual competence than throwing jabs at one another.
“These are internal matters and I didn’t expect anyone to be jumping into national matters unless you are somebody who is very mischievous. At this point, we are talking about who will lead our political party, the NPP. We are not talking already about who will lead Ghana. We have not got there yet”. He stressed
“The message to the delegates should be, look at me as a person and consider my contributions to the party and not what has been done at the national level. Unless you are being mischievous, you would not be blaming someone.”
Mr. Ayinbisa also registered some level of disappointment in the recent comments made by the former Party General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong.
The National Council of the Party is scheduled to deliberate on the Vetting Committee’s recommendations on July 20, 2023. This is according to Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary of the NPP.
