Dr. Bawumia Surprises Bawku with Mampruli Language, as he Preaches Peace for Togetherness.

In a surprising move, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia addressed the people of Bawku in their native Mampruli language during a campaign rally, leaving the crowd enthusiastic and receptive to his message. Apexnewgh reports This marked the first time Dr. Bawumia had engaged with the people of Bawku in their local dialect. Continuing his campaign in Binduri, Dr. Bawumia again spoke in Mampruli, offered his peaceful message to the beloved people of Binduri to love one another. He further advised them never to allow the opposition NDC intimidate or divide them as a people, urging the people to reject former President John Mahama’s bid to return to office. He emphasized that the country deserves a new leader, not a “second-hand failed President.” Dr. Bawumia criticized the NDC’s poor performance, highlighting failed initiatives like SADA, which spent over Ghc 100 million with little to show for it. He listed several areas where the NPP has outperformed the NDC, including agricultural growth, industrial growth, job creation, trade balance, and infrastructure development. Dr. Bawumia challenged former President Mahama to a debate to compare their records, but claimed Mahama is “afraid.” The Vice President’s message was clear: Ghanaians deserve better than a return to the past. “We have done better in every sector of the economy,” he said. “Let’s move forward, not backward.” Dr. Bawumia’s use of the local language and his emphasis on the NPP’s achievements resonated with the people, leaving a lasting impression on his campaign trail. However, he appeals to the people of Kusag area to vote all the NPP Candidates in the Parliamentry ticket and  himself as the next President. Source: Apexnewsgh.com

Binduri: NPP Aspirant Disqualified Shares Interesting Evidence As He Seeks Injunction Against Abanga

In a blow to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, a disqualified parliamentary aspirant is seeking an injunction against the acclamation of the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Binduri constituency. ApexnewsGh reports The NPP is set to conduct parliamentary primaries on January 27, 2024 in constituencies with sitting MPs. Abdulai Abanga, the only individual who showed up to contest the MP position in Binduri, is facing legal action from Alex Amolbogri Avoka. Avoka, through his counsel Richard Abaaduko Adazabra, is seeking an order of interlocutory injunction to prevent the NPP from holding the upcoming Binduri NPP parliamentary primaries and from acclaiming Abanga as its parliamentary candidate. The application was filed at the High Court in Bolgatanga on Tuesday, January 23. The court is scheduled to review the case on January 25, 2024 at 9:00am. The outcome of this legal action will determine the course of the parliamentary primaries in the Binduri constituency. In a surprising turn of events, a disqualified parliamentary aspirant in the Upper East Region is seeking an injunction against the acclamation of the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Binduri constituency. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold parliamentary primaries in constituencies with sitting MPs on January 27, 2024. The disqualified aspirant, Alex Amolbogri Avoka, has taken legal action against the NPP through his counsel, Richard Abaaduko Adazabra. Avoka is requesting an order of interlocutory injunction to halt the forthcoming Binduri NPP parliamentary primaries and prevent the party from acclaiming their chosen candidate, Abdulai Abanga. Avoka’s disqualification stems from a letter sent by the Regional Party executive, signed by Regional Secretary Elvis Figo. The letter states that they were instructed by the National Party leadership to disqualify Avoka due to alleged forgery of signatures and thumbprints on his nomination forms. Meanwhile, Avoka is accused of reducing his date of birth to qualify for a reduced filing fee and falsely claiming to have a Bachelor of Business Administration (Human Resources) from the Christian Service University College in Kumasi. When contacted about the allegations, Avoka dismissed them as false and stated that he had been on the party’s ballot in 2019 without any issues being raised. He believes that his disqualification is a result of the incumbent MP, Abdulai Abanga, fearing potential divisions within the party after the election. NDC has no moral right to criticize ongoing Astroturf in Binduri–Peter Ayinbisa Peter Ayinbisa-Regional Communication Director NPP (Left) Abdallah Salifu-Regional Communication Officer NDC (Right)

NDC has no moral right to criticize ongoing Astroturf in Binduri–Peter Ayinbisa

The Upper East Regional Director of Communication for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Region does not have the moral right to criticize the ongoing Astroturf in the Binduri constituency and any other parts of the region, because they failed woefully without giving the region even a 4 by 4 Astroturf when they had the opportunity to produce a sports Minister Mahama Ayariga a resident of the Upper East Region. Mr. Ayinbisa was responding to the claim made by the NDC Regional Communication Officer Abdallah Salifu, who during an interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Monday described the ongoing construction of Astroturf by the Binduri Member of Parliament Abdulai Abanga as “4 by 4 Astroturf’ Meanwhile, responding further to the claim made by the RCO, Mr. Ayinbisa questioned the NDC record in Binduri as far as sports development is concerned since 1992. “He is saying that the Astroturf is 4 by 4, what is your record in that constituency in terms of sports development in that constituency? They have occupied that seat since 1992 and they have not built a 4 by 4 Astroturf facility in that constituency. Just within two and half years, Hon. Abanga has lobbied and they have brought the Astroturf facility to Binduri Constituency and he is complaining. If he likes, he should call it zero Astroturf, we all know they have not done anything for the people of Binduri they have not given them any sports facility”. “Let me put it on record, that what we are seeing is phase one of the project, phase two will come and it will contain many more recreational areas within the constituency and I want to assure NDC, by the time we are done with what we want to do Abdallah himself will run to Binduri to exercise to become more fits than he is currently. He will definitely stop going to magani and go to Binduri”. Ayinbisa stressed He said, the NDC promised to build a sports stadium in the region and they ended up doing nothing. “Mahama Ayariga was a Sports Minister and he did nothing and today, we are building an Astroturf in Binduri, We are building Astroturf in Pusiga, we are building Astroturf in Bolga and we are building a mini Sports Stadium in Navrongo. So, we are building four (4) Astroturf within this region”. “The NDC did not build any single Astroturf in the region since 1992. So, they don’t have the moral right to talk about that”. He stressed Meanwhile, pointing out some of Hon. Abanga’s contributions to his people of Binduri within just a two years interval in office, the NPP Regional Communication Director Mr. Ayinbisa said: Medical equipment comprises of beds, mattresses, wheelchairs, and some other medical equipment that I might not be able to mention on this platform. No MP for Binduri has ever presented medical equipment to the hospital and I deer them to produce any records of any of their MPs, Ministers, or Deputy Ministers having procured any medical equipment and supply to the Binduri Constituency and that is what Hon. Abanga the lone ranger of this region, the single MP for this region is doing for the people of Binduri. “The MP has supplied over 700 dual desks to schools in Binduri. Look, am here in Bongo and am looking at what my MP has done and I can tell you and bet you my last pesewas that Edward Bawa has not supplied up to 700 pieces of furniture to schools in Bongo, he has not even supplied up to 300 furniture to schools in the district. I have not seen, I have not heard that he has supplied furniture to schools in our district up to 700 and that is what the MP for Binduri has done”. he stated The NPP Regional Communication Director maintained that Hon. Abanga thinks about the Children, “he thinks about the future of children and that is what he has done in the constituency. So, if you sit in your corner you think the MP has done nothing. I am telling you on authority that the MP has drilled over 35 boreholes, he drilled a good number before buying the wreck but after buying the wreck, he has drilled over 35 boreholes”. “The claim by Abdallah that, the wreck is his personal one, what is wrong about that? Don’t we use our personal benevolence to help communities? This is an MP whose colleagues used their Common Funds or used the loans they were supposed to use to buy V-8 vehicles to have comfort by driving around the country, coming to the constituency to show off, sitting comfortably and going around the constituency. This is an MP who decided to discount his comfort by using the loan he was supposed to use to buy a V-8, he added money from his personal resources to buy a wreck to drill boreholes to the benefit of the people. What is wrong with that? He asked Meanwhile, Ayinbisa also maintained that, It is only the NDC who doesn’t do that, “they are always waiting to use government-made resources, they are always waiting for the normal allocated resources before they can do something for the constituency”. Mr. Ayinbisa told Apexnewsgh.com He shared some phone footage of medical equipment supplied by Hon. Abanga Source: Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana For publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email apexnewsgh@gmail.com

Mahama govt wanted to fund Bolga -Bawku with road tolls levy– Abdulai Abanga

Deputy Minister for Ministry of Works and Housing Abanga Abdulai has said, that the NDC John Dramani Mahama government wanted to fund the Bolga-Bawku road with the collection of Ghc1, Ghc1 road tolls. Mr. Abanga was responding to the press release issued by the Regional Communication Bureau of the Opposition of the NDC in the region on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. The NDC press statement issued against Hon. Abanga said: “The attention of the NDC Regional communication Bureau has been drawn to a very wicked and mischievous lie by the MP for Binduri constituency that, President Mahama cut sod for the Bolgatanga -Bawku -Pulmonkom road three times”. “According to the non-performing MP “President Mahama came to that area to cut sod for the road not once, not twice but thrice or so and the road was still there” section of the press release says. Meanwhile, Speaking to Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on ApexnewsGhana flagship developmental programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” on Thursday, September 29, 2022, the MP stated, that the Mahama government wanted to fund the Bolga-Bawku road with the Ghc1, Ghc1 road tolls and they say I shouldn’t complain about it. Whether the sod was cut once twice or thrice, that is not the meat of it, that wasn’t what I was dragging at, I wanted the people of Upper East to appreciate what the NPP government has done for them and because of that, the NPP deserved more. He stressed The Deputy Minister said, if the NDC were interested and very serious in delivering services to the people of the Upper East Region, they would have gone to secure a loan, a facility from a bank to fund that road. “How do you place a project like Bolga- Bawku Pulmakum road the funding to be finance by Road Fund? If you are really someone who is interested in the welfare of the people, the nature of that road, if the government then were interested and very serious in delivering services to the people of the Upper East Region, they would have gone to secure a loan, a facility from a bank to fund that road”. Referring to the Kwame Nkurumah Interchange popularly known as Accra Dubai which was constructed by John Dramani Mahama. The Deputy Minister questioned why the NDC refused to use a road toll levy for the circle interchange project but rather chose to frustrate the people of Upper East with the road tolls on an important road such as Bolga-Bawku road. “You remember the popular NDC Dubai in Circle? How do they fund it? They went for a loan. So, the Accra people are more important than the Upper East people? The Bawku people were refusing to travel back home because of the nature of that road and were spending 4 hours on that road. I was very surprised the NPP was treating the people of the Upper East like that. So, I don’t think the people of Upper East Should reward NDC with more”. The people of Upper East should rather reward NPP with more seats for delivering Bolga-Bawku road

The Binduri Member of Parliament Abanga Abdulai says, he still stands by his pronouncement made about NDC’s unseriousness and treatment shown the people of the Upper East Region towards the construction of Bolga-Bawku, stressing that, if the people of Upper East want to be fair, they should rather reward the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with more of the seats from the region. Mr. Abanga made his stance stronger whiles responding to the press release issued by the Regional Communication Bureau of the Opposition of the NDC in the region on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. “The attention of the NDC Regional communication Bureau has been drawn to a very wicked and mischievous lie by the MP for Binduri constituency that, President Mahama cut sod for the Bolgatanga -Bawku -Pulmonkom road three times”. “According to the non-performing MP “President Mahama came to that area to cut sod for the road not once, not twice but thrice or so and the road was still there” section of the press release says. Meanwhile, Speaking to Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on ApexnewsGhana flagship developmental programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” on Thursday, September 29, 2022, the MP said, The bottom line of his statement is not about whether the former President Mahama cut sod one time, two times, three times. “The bottom line of my statement and still stand by it, is that the NDC that the people of the Upper East Region have consistently been voting for is providing very little as compared to what this government for 4 years has done for the people of the Upper East Region. So, the people of the Upper East Region, if they want to be fair should rather reward the New Patriotic Party with more of the seats from the region”. He said: “I sighted the example of the Bolga- Pulmakum road, this road if you are in the Upper East before 2017, there are times that people will say it openly that people who come from Bawku, Zebilla were refusing to travel back home because of the nature of the road. Is just like today, there is no dumsor, people seem to have forgotten that in 2015-2016 there was dumsor that you could be in your offices and there is no light, you will be in your house and there was no light for your fridge, you want to iron your cloth and you don’t have light, and factories had to close down because there was no light. But, today because there is a regular light, people have forgotten that there use to be dumsor was NDC was in power”. “I am saying that before NPP came to power, the Bawku road was a death trap. You have to travel about 4 hours before you get to Bolga”. “Yesterday, I was in my village Bassi and I got up there within 20 minutes I was in Bolga, because the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Akufo-Addo came to power and look for money to construct that road. Today, am sitting in Accra. It is possible because that has been fixed within less than 4 years”. “And they come and they are talking about me not performing, Look, is only the people of Binduri who can determine whether am performing or not”. How do you place a project like Bolga- Bawku Pulmakum road the funding to be financed by Road Fund? If you are really someone who is interested in the welfare of the people, the nature of that road, if the government then were interested and very serious in delivering services to the people of the Upper East Region, they would have gone to secure a loan, a facility from a bank to fund that road. When this government came to power, that is exactly what the government did and the Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia is somebody who took a personal interest in this project. You can ask the contractor they will tell you. And there is a fund available that is why the road was quickly done”. He lamented He said: “…a request was made when the president visited Bawku, the request was made by Bawku Naba and Binduri Naba and we thought up to this time, we would have gotten the personnel’s”. “ We also need to provide them with transport like a pick up for them because this situation we need the visibility of the police and that is why we are appealing to the regional minister to take care of that for us because. With the security, there will be an easy movement for businessmen and women and even ordinary people”. Go deeper, if not you might think there is nothing for your constituency or your district in the budget—Abdulai Abanga told 2022 budget critics

The Member of Parliament for Binduri Constituency of the Upper East Region Abanga Abdulai has challenged opposition critics who claimed the 2022 budget didn’t capture any reasonable thing for the Upper East Region, to go deeper into the budget. Apexnewsgh.com report “If you don’t go deeper in the budget, you might think there is nothing for your constituency or your district but that is not the case. You need to go into the details of the budget”. Speaking to Apexnewsgh.com in an exclusive interview on Thursday, December 9, 2021, Mr. Abanga said, one critical or far-reaching policy he saw in the budget that is goodies for his people in Binduri and Upper East Region at large is the ‘YouStart’ which he thinks will inure to the benefit of the youth in the region. However, he also pointed that the Pwalungu Multi-Purpose dam which he personally described as a game-changer for the people of Upper East was captured in the 2022 budget and funds were allocated for the project. “One critical or far-reaching policy I have seen in the budget that contains goodies for our people is this youth employment solution that has been provided in the budget the ‘YouStart’. This is an initiative the government intends to support over one million youth to be able to set up their own businesses either as individuals, SMEs or groups. What is happening in Upper East currently, is a national problem and our problem is that we have young people who are looking for jobs and they can’t find jobs. So, what we need to do, is to position ourselves well as leadership to get our people ready to take advantage of this policy”. He said Responding to the controversial E-Levy, he said the only way nations across the world could survive is through taxing. “That only way every country across the world survived their economy. In fact, even if the government goes to borrow and come and construct infrastructure, it is the same taxes that the government will collect from the people and pay back the loans. So, we have to decide, if we want to contribute so that we can get more Feeder roads in various constituencies and districts if we want agenda 111 which Binduri is a beneficiary with some other districts in the region. After the construction, we have to recruit doctors, we have to recruit nurses so that when one is sick and he went to the hospital, there will be some people to take care of your health. The Free Senior High School (FSHS) which district is not benefiting from it? In this budget, is going to be taken care of. Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ), who in the Upper East region, have not benefitted from PFJ? So, E-Levy is a way of raising money to support the roads, the hospitals, FSHS, and so on”. He explained “I would just want to encourage everybody that anytime you drive on the road, anytime you went to the hospital, anytime your child goes to secondary school and he or she is not paying fees, you have to understand that somebody is paying the cost of those things and so, this E-Levy is calling on you to make your contribution towards these social amenities you all enjoy every day. So, you shouldn’t think that you are paying money for nothing in return”.
