Mahama Slams NPP for Regional Disparities in Development Projects

John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of prioritizing development projects in regions that supported them in past elections, while neglecting others. Apexnewsgh reports Mahama contends that this approach undermines fair development across the country, vowing to address the imbalance if elected. During his tour of the Oti Region on November 4, 2024, Mahama criticized the “regional disparities” in resource allocation under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration. He promised the people of Oti that, under his leadership, development would be distributed more equitably, including investment in critical infrastructure that has long been lacking in the region. Mahama specifically highlighted the government’s decision not to establish a regional hospital in Krachi East, despite urgent healthcare needs. “NPP failed to build the regional hospitals because Krachi East indigenes didn’t vote for them. NDC will uphold its promise to Krachi East in terms of infrastructure,” he stated. The former president’s visit to Dambai in Krachi East brought together chiefs and supporters, including the Chief of Dambai, Nana Mprah Besemuna III. Nana Besemuna commended Mahama for his past investments in the region’s education and healthcare but stressed the need for more significant healthcare infrastructure, particularly a regional hospital. “We are very grateful for the educational infrastructure you developed, which has helped us all these years. We also know you built smaller hospitals in Krachi, but the people are yearning for a regional hospital. We want you to prioritize the regional hospital when voted into power,” Nana Besemuna appealed. John Mahama vows to investigate Techiman South shooting if elected- says Akufo-Addo don’t care

During his ‘Building The Ghana We Want Tour’, former president John Dramani Mahama accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of neglecting the people of Techiman South in the Bono East Region following the shooting and killing of National Democratic Congress supporters by security agents during the 2020 general elections. Mr. Mahama promised to investigate these fatalities and hold those responsible accountable if he wins the 2024 presidential election. He criticized the president and his appointees for failing to apologize for the incident and contrasted it with the handling of a similar incident in Ejura, where a commission of enquiry was established and compensation was provided. Mr. Mahama stated that if elected, he will ensure a thorough investigation into the Techiman incident and ensure justice is served. NDC Won’t Wait For Any Supreme Court, 2024 Will Be ‘Do Or Die’! – John Mahama

John Dramani Mahama has warned that nothing can jeopardize his zeal to be president again for the republic of Ghana. The former president who is currently on a ‘Thank You’ tour across the country said he will not be ‘fooled’ again in the next election. Speaking in an interview with Akina Radio in Techiman, Mr. Mahama said he has learnt his lessons from the previous elections. “We learn from the past so we [NDC] have learned our lessons from the 2020 election. The next elections will be won or lost at the polling station,” “If otherwise, it will be a do or die affair at the polling station. The right thing must be done. We will win our election at the polling station,” he told a ‘shocked’ presenter. Mr. Mahama, however, said his party will not seek redress from the court should there be any rigging. “We will do everything to make sure the election is transparent and fair. We don’t want to cheat them, so they shouldn’t.  We won’t wait for any Supreme Court, no!” he maintained. —Peacefmonline Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko 2021 Welcome Letter to Mahama

Dear John Mahama, Akufo-Addo and the NPP did not file an election petition in 2012 to “remove all doubt…” Indeed, today, there are still several Ghanaians who still have doubts over the credibility of the 2012 presidential election and yet accepted the decision of the Supreme Court in that election petition. Their doubts were not removed by the court! Indeed, in such cases, you go to court to rather sow doubts and hope to reap from that. The NPP went to court then because they believed they had enough evidence, which they exhibited, to show that you, John Mahama, did not win in 2012 and that Akufo-Addo won. The final outcome was not so. They disagreed with it but accepted it. No leader worth his salt and no party worth its existence should get up to put their supporters on the streets to burn tyres and cause all manner of havoc, claiming you have won and you, the defeated candidate, saying the results were “fictitious”, only to turn up in court to say your mission is to remove all doubts. Incredible! It is reckless, irresponsible, unpatriotic and, in fact, selfish, for any statesman (a former president for that matter) to waste the time of an entire nation and its supreme court for the mere sake of hoping to “remove all doubt”. What doubt? Whose doubt? You have no doubt that you lost this election. You know it! If you are doubting you lost, please, deal with it at home! Pour yourself a drink and drown your sorrows away, for all we care! But do not waste our time and heighten the hopes of your loyal supporters hopelessly, merely because in your mind you have doubts. This is so upsetting! We entertain too much rubbish in this beautiful country of ours. *** Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko is a Former Director of the Danquah Institute and a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party. Mahama reveals what Rawlings Said On Choosing Naana Jane As His Running Mate

NDC Presidential candidate, John Mahama has revealed what his late party founder, Jerry John Rawlings said about his choice of Prof. Naana Jane as his running mate. Speaking at a special vigil to honour the memory of the late former President in Accra on Sunday November 15, 2020, Mahama said Rawlings’ choice sealed his choice of running mate. Mahama said after reading out the names of five persons who had been shortlisted as his running mate to Rawlings, he said the party founder asked him to complete his consultation with others before returning to him to discuss the choice. “I had done quite a lot of consultation, and we have fixed the date that on Monday we will take the final decision. I asked to see him [Rawlings] on Saturday. I went to see him and I read out the names of those who had been shortlisted without saying what my own preference was. There were 5 names. He asked me if I had finished all consultations. I told him there were a few more. He said I should finish with them and come back to discuss. He said we should meet on Sunday, but he will be in Tefle. I said no problem, I will drive there.” “I finished the consultations the next morning, getting ready to drive to Tefle, and he called me the next morning and said, ‘Chief, I decided to spare you the journey, don’t waste your time driving all the way to Tefle, look on your phone, I have sent you a text, and he went off the line,” Mahama recounted. He said the message Rawlings sent to him read, “You didn’t tell me your choice but I knew that your choice is Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang”. Mahama said Rawlings also in the message expressed his approval of her to be the running mate. “He said ‘she is a woman of integrity and I think that you should go with her’. That was the text, and that sealed my decision,” Mahama recounted. Citinewsroom Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications

It’s Only Akufo-Addo’s Gov’t That Can Fulfill Pledge To Pay Us” – Assembly Members

The Greater Accra Association of Assembly Members believes that the pledge to pay Assembly Members a monthly salary can only be fulfilled by a Government led by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.   Paying a courtesy call on the President, on Tuesday, 10th November 2020, Mr. Stephen Kwasi Acquah, spokesperson for the Association, indicated that the promise to pay salaries to Assembly Members is a call in the right direction, and is welcome by all Members. “However, in the 2012 and 2016 manifestoes of John Mahama and his NDC, the candidate who is today telling us he will pay us if he wins the 2020 election, the pledge to pay Assembly Members was made in those manifestoes,” the spokesperson said. He continued, “He (John Mahama) reneged on the pledge he made to pay us when we voted for him in 2012, and that is why we did not vote for him again in 2016, even though he had repeated that pledge.” Mr. Stephen Kwasi Acquah, on behalf of the Greater Accra Association, stated that “if there’s someone who we believe can pay Assembly Members on a monthly basis, then it has to be Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.” Outlining the policies implemented by the Akufo-Addo Government from 2017 to date, the spokesperson of the Association indicated that the Free SHS, 1-District-1-Factory, the Nation Builders’ Corps, and the programme for Planting for Food and Jobs have proven to be extremely beneficial for them and the constituents they represented. “Prior to the inception of Free SHS, we would always wake up to knocks on our doors by parents who could not afford to take their wards to school. The implementation of Free SHS has lifted the burden of us. Because of NABCO, no one harasses us for jobs anymore,” he added. Thanking the President for making time to meet with them, Stephen Kwasi Acquah stressed that “we believe that if we support you, and ensure that you get four more years, our circumstances, as Assembly Members, will be better off under your Government.” On his part, President Akufo-Addo told the Members of the Association that “I like very much the commitment that has been made” towards ensuring that there would be no return to power of the NDC. “The atmosphere in the country is good for us. The Ghanaian people are very happy with the work that has been done for them over the course of my first term in office, so help me take the message to every nook and cranny of the country. We cannot afford any complacency. The election is not won until the last vote has been counted, and we have to make sure that everyone who has registered comes out to vote,” President Akufo-Addo added. I don’t have hotels in Dubai, NPP lied – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has challenged the governing Patriotic Party (NPP) to adduce evidence to support claims that he built hotels in Dubai. Mr Mahama said at a campaign rally in Accra that when he was in office, several lies were told about him by the then opposition NPP including the claim that he had built a hotel in Dubai and also awarded contracts to his brother Ibrahim Mahama. He said, for the three-and-a half years that the NPP has been in office they have not be able to adduce any evidence to support their claim. “Give me one evidence of a contract that I gave to my brother to dredge the Odaw river. My brother was doing the project free of charge, he never charged a pesewa but you had leading figures of the saying I gave the contract worth GHS 200million. “They said I had built hotels in Dubai, I have ships in Tokyo, they said DKM was mine. “If I have hotels is in Dubai I dare them to go and look for it, sell it and come and invest the money in Ghana’s economy,” he said. 3news Please kindly contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible publications
