Kennedy Agyapong Rejects Offer to be Bawumia’s Running Mate

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, made it clear that he has no intention of joining forces with the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia, as his running mate. Agyapong emphasized that he would not accept the role of vice president and instead, he must be among the leaders. Agyapong spoke about the impact he has made on people’s lives through his businesses, which have provided employment opportunities and supported many Ghanaians. With this self-gratification in mind, he stated that one does not need to be president to create positive change. During the NPP’s presidential primary, Bawumia secured a significant amount of votes, winning against his main rival, Agyapong. Despite this, Bawumia has not yet announced his running mate as the selection process was extended in December. In an interview on the KSM Show on Pan African Television monitored by Apexnewsgh, Agyapong reiterated his stance, stating that he believes in democracy and wants to allow Bawumia the autonomy to make his own decisions. He expressed his willingness to contribute in whatever way he can but made it clear that he does not want to be vice president. Agyapong emphasized that he would stay back and observe the process, supporting democracy in action. Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. UER Dialysis Project: I have not received any letter and am not aware individuals are contributing—Dr. Nawaane

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nabdam Constituency, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, has responded to the controversial question asked by the Presidential Flag bearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong regarding the contribution of the Upper East Members of Parliament to the ongoing dialysis project at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital. Apexnewsgh report When an appeal was made through A1 radio to Mr. Kennedy Agyapong to donate to the ongoing dialysis project at Bolgatanga Regional Hospital. He responded by expressing his willingness to contribute but mentioned the need to assess his available resources. He explained that he is currently building a dialysis center and cardio center worth six million dollars ($6 million) at the 37 Military Hospital, along with training doctors. He had sent them to India for training, insisting that the delay in the project was due to his campaign commitments. Mr. Agyapong further challenged Members of Parliament from the Upper East Region by questioning how much they have contributed since the launch of the dialysis project. Meanwhile, responding to the NPP Presidential hopeful, Dr. Nawaane said, he has not received any letter in line with the dialysis project and also has no knowledge about ongoing individual contributions. According to him, Mr. Agyapong should have concentrated on his campaign message to his delegates and left MPs in the region alone. According to Dr. Nawaane, the issue initially was even where to place the dialysis machine, of which the NDC government has a building at the hospital that was about 85 percent completed using the Saudi fund. Stressing that, it has taken the government of the NPP 5 to 6 years for them to let that building to be completed. It is now that the space has come for them to actually get where to locate that dialysis unit. Dr. Nawaane further mentioned that the MPs from the Upper East Region depend a lot on their common fund which is very scanty for them to use establish a dialysis machine. “He is a Member of Parliament and the resources MPs have is not….if you asked to contribute as individuals, well, that one i can’t speak for anybody but I have not received any letter to that effect and I don’t even know that individuals are contributing to anything. All I know is that there is a private initiative trying to provide dialysis in the Upper East Region”. “I don’t have any letter; I don’t know the ownership structure of the dialysis. Remember, for example, Korlu-bu has a dialysis unit but even the funds to operate it, is a problem. So, they are currently not operating outpatient department clients, only the inpatients are being taken care of.” Meanwhile, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, spoke in an exclusively interview with an award winning journalist Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Thursday October 19, 2023. However, concrete information gathered by this platform has it that, Dr. Emmanuel Akatibo the Doctor who happens to be the brain behind the dialysis project in the region, has already sent a written proposal to most of the MPs including the leadership of the Upper East Caucus in Parliament for their support. Kennedy Agyapong doesn’t want northerners progress–Peter Ayinbisa

The Upper East Regional Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Ayinbisa has said, that the ethnic political pronouncement made by the NPP presidential hopeful Hon. Kennedy Agyapong simply means that, he has a problem with northerners, means he doesn’t want northerners to progress, it means he doesn’t want northerners to occupy any other position than running mates and miniature positions. Apexnewsgh report Speaking in an exclusive interview with Apexnewsgh.com on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, Mr. Ayinbisa explained that they have sighted videos and audios making rounds purportedly authored by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong a presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party. He said, that in those videos, Hon Agyapong is seen to have been making some comments about northern Ghana, and in one of the videos, he said that the “NDC has elected John Mahama as a northerner for their party for the 2024 elections. So, NPP also elects Bawumia as a presidential candidate for the NPP, it will mean that Ghana will be governed by northerners and that electorates should be careful not to vote for Bawumia. Because that will mean that if we like it or yes a northerner is going to be the next president for 2025 either NPP northerner or NDC northerner”. According to the Regional Director, his comment clearly means that “Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has a problem with northerners, it means he doesn’t want northerners to progress, it means he doesn’t want northerners to occupy any other position than running mates and miniature positions”. “I feel that northerners are more than qualified whether they are NDC or NPP. We have more qualified people from the 5 northern regions that can become president. So, why is he playing that ethnic card? He wants to use that to incite northerners against our counterparts in the south and that is my problem”. Mr. Ayinbsa said, he strongly believes that politics has to do with the mindset, “Wherever you come from, wherever your location is, you can rise and become the president of the Republic of Ghana irrespective of where your location is, geographical location has nothing to do with your ability to occupy the number one gentleman position of the land”. “So, Kennedy is trying to undermine northerners and for me, that is unfortunate and it should not have come from somebody who is seeking to occupy the high office of the president, trying to undermine his fellow Ghanaians”. “We have people from the north who have excelled, who have done well in the various successes of the economy. We have Aliu Mahama who has performed creditably well as a vice president, and John Dramani Mahama who is a northerner who has also done quite well as President, we have several northerners that I cannot even mention. The Atubugas, the Amalibas, the Ayines the Robert Ajenes who has been a regional director of Education, and a whole lot of others I can’t mention. So, why do you want to undermine northerners at this time? Speaking about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr. Ayinbisa maintained that the current Vice President Dr. Bawumia has done very well in his field. He further described him as a great man who was discovered around 2000 and since then, he has helped NPP to come to power. “Everybody knows that if not for Bawumia NPP wouldn’t have won the 2016 elections. People can disagree with me but that is the position many of us hold” he stressed. So, for the Kennedy Agyapong to come and make such comment, I feel very bad, I feel uncomfortable for somebody who is seeking to occupy high office will be making those comments” Ayinbisa told Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh Source: Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana For publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email: apexnewsgh@gmail.com

Kennedy Agyepong vow to finish NPP party if they collapse his businesses

A 2024 Presidential candidate hopeful for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kennedy Agyapong has threatened to expose the secrets that will cause the collapse of the party if they try collapsing his businesses. Speaking in an interview with Sompa FM in Kumasi, Mr. Agyapong said if attempts were made to collapse his businesses, he will “finish the party” with his disclosures. “I am being nice and charitable to NPP (members), they shouldn’t dare me, they shouldn’t dare me,” Mr. Agyapong said in the Sompa FM with Yaw Adu Boakye. “…I will finish the party, the things I will say. The things I know that I have kept quiet”. Mr. Agyepong said, he has been the victim of a witch-hunt by members of his party since the beginning of the year, alleging that the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) was being used as a vehicle to intimidate and frustrate his business operations. He alleged that the GRA wanted to station its personnel at his cold chain stores to police how much fish he sells daily, warning “Let me say this, I have gone past intimidation. They cannot use the system to intimidate me, I have to say this, I have opened businesses across the last five presidents. I never went through any of this harassment.” “Ghana Revenue Authority can never collapse my business because I will fight. I will fight for the youth because that steel plant alone will take 1000 workers,” he said. “And you are going there because Kwame Agyapong is loudmouthed because he wants to contest [for president] so you will destroy my business”. He also threatened to expose alleged corrupt dealing at the GRA. “Whether they are auditing, whether they are collapsing the business, I swear to God, Ghana Revenue Authority can never collapse my business because I will fight…” he stressed Source: Apexnewsgh.com/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stepehen/Ghana For publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email apexnewsgh@gmail.com

Anthony Karbo rejects claim he owned a property in USA

Anthony Karbo has responded to Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong accusation of having property in the United States of America during his time as Deputy Minister. In a statement sighted by this platform, Mr. Karbo disclaimed such accusation from the legislator. Insisting that, there was nothing like that. Read the full statement below: On the Matter of Hon Kennedy Agyapong:His Northern Region Tour and Issues Arrising. I have become aware of a viral audio recording of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in which the MP was campaigning in the Upper East Region. The audio, among other things, attempted to accuse me of embarking on Tribal Campaign, impugning corruption on my part as a Former MP and Deputy Minister, and suggested underhand dealings of persons believed to be working for Vice President to prevent the Hon. Kennedy Agyapong from meeting Party members in the North. In the interest of party unity and peace, a meeting was arranged with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong to delve into the accusations/allegations and also clarify the misinformation. The meeting was attended by Mrssrs KT Hammond, Fred Oware, Dr Gideon Boako and myself. It was a good and fruitful meeting and in the end it was clarified at the meeting that, I, Anthony Karbo had NOT embarked on any Tribal Campaign as alleged and wish to put on record that TRIBAL POLITICS is not part of my personality and political activism. All my life I have enjoyed the support of persons irrespective of where they hail from and reciprocated same. The Hon. Kennedy Agyapong himself will attest to this fact given my long standing relationship with him spanning decades which is public knowledge. I wish to state categorically that i own no such property in the USA as alleged and the claim of impugning corruption against me is non-existent. It was also clear that none of the associates of the Vice President or myself had attempted to influence any party official in the North not to attend the meeting called by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong. Also, contrary to a published story on Net2tvonline that the meeting was a platform for me and the Vice President’s office to apologise to Hon Kennedy Agyapong, I wish to state without equivocation that no one at the said meeting apologised to the other. It was a brotherly family meeting intended to clear the misinformation and both pledging to organise ourselves in a more peaceful and docorous manner as we approach the internal contest. We are one family and we commit to unite in one accord for the betterment of the New Patriotic Party. Anthony Abayifaa KarboFmr. The outspoken Assin North Member of Parliament Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has revealed that a contract sum of Ghc163 million which was given to the Northern Regional Chairman and his counterpart in the North East was sold to Aliu Seidu. The MP who was captured angrily shouting on top of his voice whiles addressing Regional and Constituency Executives in Upper East on Sunday also hinted about some illegality, stressing that if the seller, buyer of the contract, and Road and Highways play with him all of them will be in trouble. “Chairman Samba and North East Chairman, they had a contract from the road Ministry Ghc163million, they sold it to Aliu Seidu who is called Aliumaboma, Aliumaboma gave them some cheques Ghc 1.5, Ghc 1.5million, Ghc 1.5million, Ghc 1.5million, and all the Ghc 1.5million cheques bounced and what Aliumaboma did was that he also went back to Roads and Highways and changed the figures to cover the Ghc 6million he gave to these cheques. I don’t know how was able to value”. Kennedy Agyapong narrates how Chairman Samba and North East Regional Chairman rejected him during his visit

Kennedy Agyapong narrates how Chairman Samba and North East Regional Chairman rejected him during his visit Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has expressed frustration following his rejection in the Northern Region by Northern Regional Chairman Samba and in the North East Region by the North East Regional Chairman of governing NPP. Addressing Party regional and constituency executives on Sunday at Blue Sky Hotel in Zuarungu Bolgatanga East in the Upper East Region, the outspoken Lawmaker says, “It looks as if the NPP will not learn, we don’t learn in the sense that we have 160 Parliamentarians but because of internal struggles, we lost most of the seats. I thought this would have been a lesson to us but we are still doing the same thing”. He further said, for a party that wants to break the 8, the party should listen to the prayer said by the Tempane Women’s Organiser.“Why do we say Break The 8? we say Break The 8 because the norm is that every 8 years no matter your performance Ghanaians want to change parties but this time we are saying that we are going to go beyond 8 years. If we are going to go beyond 8 years, we should listen to the prayer of the Women Organizer for Tempane. We need unity because if there is no unity and antagonizing each other, those who are not strong to voice out will just go and sit at their corner quietly and watch without going to vote, and those who have a loud mouth like me will speak their mind”. Explaining what happened when he visited the Northern and North East Region, Mr. Agyapong said the two regional party Chairmen directed Regional and constituency executives not to meet with him. He believes the chairmen are not doing Dr. Bawumia’s campaign any good. “Something has happen when we went to Northern Region, Chairman Samba asked the constituency executive chairmen not to meet me. North East Chairman, has also done the same thing. but here, thanks to the Chairman and Regional Executives. The Northern Region the Regional Executives failed to meet me, North East the Regional Executives failed to meet me but I assure you, I will beat them back. Dr. Bawumia, these chairmen are destroying his campaign because Bawumia can’t win an election without me, I can’t win an election without him, we need unity. They actually called the constituency executives not to meet me”. “Now, we have 5 regions in the northern region and I can assure you, your number is 31,800 we have regions Western, Western North, and Central Region, and the number is 35,000 so if you want to play tribal we will go to opposition and we don’t need that. If we go into a fair election and Dr. Bawumia wins, am going to fully support him. But if there is no fair election, I have a TV station, I have a radio station and I have a mouth. I am not somebody that anybody can bully. What they are doing is not good for you and for the north. Chairman you can call them, they are your colleague chairmen, because I can call their bluff and within 4 months I can shut down Bawumia’s campaign because ever since they started, is a dirty campaign that they doing”. Mr. Agyapong is moving round the Northern Region, familiarizing himself both Regional and constituency party executives and as well asking for their support ahead of the party flag bearer primaries Source: Apexnewsgh.com/GhanaFor publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email apexnewsgh@gmail.com
