Even if the other 9 candidates combined their votes, Dr. Bawumia will win –Obiri Boahen

The former Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has said, even if the nine other candidates contesting the flagbearership together with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia decide to put their votes together, it will come near close to that of the Vice President.  Mr. Obiri Boahen in an interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com said he is solidly behind Dr. Bawumia, stressing that as a political person, Dr. Bawumia is the only character who can break the 8 for the party. “Without Bawumia, we should forget it”. Mr. Obiri Boahen stressed. Describing all those competing with Dr. Bawumia as good materials, Mr. Obiri Boaheng said the grassroots supports Bawumia. He said, in the NPP every delegate is mature enough to determine who should lead and who should not lead the party. He is more confident that none of the candidates will beat Dr. Bawumia Even if they decide to come together to form one bloc against Bawumia alone, the combined votes of all 9 candidates will be nowhere near to that of Bawumia. Obiri Boahen says, he condemned the suspension of alleged Alan supporters, if their allegation is true

The National Deputy Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has said, it will be bad if party members are suspended and maltreated for expressing their views on any of their preferred personalities within the party. He added; The Akan has a proverb that, the Maize is not different from the Kenkey, we used the maize to prepare the Kenkey. So, we should maltreat the maize as equal as we treat the Kenkey” Few weeks ago, members of the ‘North For Alan’, a group affiliated to Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen, have registered what they call their strongest protest at the selective application of party rules and sanctions ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership race. Their protest came as a result of the suspension of some party members believed to be a loyalist of Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen. However, speaking to the National Deputy Secretary Nana Obiri Boahen was also mentioned in one of their press conferences as one of those who declared support for Vice President, he said “I have said that, if what they are saying is true then that is bad. Because you see, in our party we don’t have Alan group and Bawumia group, we have one party known as NPP is only that we have individual idiosyncrasies but generally, we are one party and that party is the NPP. He said According to Mr. Obiri Boahen, it will be unfortunate to suspend someone because of the view expressed by the person as a party member if the group is saying is the truth. “So, if somebody expresses the view that he wants to be with Mr. A and you disagree, you don’t suspend the person or don’t maltreat the person. The Akan has a proverb that, the Maize is not different from the Kenkey, we used the maize to prepare the Kenkey. So, we should maltreat the maize as equal as you treat the Kenkey” He said the party must be guided by the 2007 experience which caused the party to lose the general election “So, we must be guided by the experience of 2007. If it is true that people have been suspended unfriendly for openly campaigning or somebody showing sympathy that is not good, we should be seen advising ourselves, is not right to create enemies especially those of us who are matured enough and witnessed the event which happened in 2007 and 2008, we should be advising the present generation. In 2007 there was such a division and that antagonism was so much so that the end result was that the NPP lost the elections and we don’t want the repetition of that”. He stressed Responding to the allegation of supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the general secretary said: “I am bringing him. So, when they accused me that some of us are supporting, am not supporting, I am bringing him. They are saying that we should not support him but am saying that am bringing him, it could be that when I go to him he will decline my invitation. NPP will win, even if elections were to be conducted today–Obiri Boahen

The National Deputy Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has said, if the election were to be conducted today, NPP will win hands down. Apexnewsgh.com report Speaking to Apexnewsgh.com in an exclusive interview a day after the party annual delegates conference in Kumasi, Mr. Obiri Boahen said: “It is the good people who are going to determine, I should not underrate or insult the intelligence of the every Ghanaian, I must appreciate the sentiment and intelligent of every Ghanaian who is eligible to vote and I agree that even though there are some hitches of difficulties, [the NPP will win]. “Sometimes, I boost into laughter when I hear these our NDC boys talking. I believe they are talking because there is a need for them just to talk, that’s all. He challenged the opposition National Democratic Congress to mention at least one social intervention they have introduced as a social democrat. “Tell me any social intervention policy the NDC have introduced since we started with this Republic? Just tell me one, they called themselves social democrats. “Is an undeniable fact that when even the NPP introduce FSHS, NDC opposed it. Is that not the case? “The creation of regions, NDC boycotted it. “Apart from the decision to increase the MPs allowances, tell what the NDC has not opposed. Minority claiming they won’t approve 2022 budget, is a demonstration of Immaturity—Nana Obiri Boahen

The National Deputy Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has described Minority protest of not going to approve the 2022 budget read by the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as a ‘demonstration of Immaturity’. According to the private legal practitioner, is pre-mature for the minority to say they won’t approve the budget when they have not discussed and debated it on the floor of parliament. Lawyer Obiri Boahen was speaking to Apexnews Ghana “Is Pre-mature for them to be talking like that, with due respect is a demonstration of immaturity. I am saying this because, a budget has been read and people are making their own interpretation and all sort of things. The parliament is an august body, the government cannot implement the contents of the provisions of the budget without parliamentary approval. So, why don’t you wait and listen, discuss and debate and interrogate it dispassionately and not from a partisan camp and then arrive at a conclusion”. He said “So, what message are you sending as Parliamentarians? They should all live without the entrenched partisan camp. They should think of the welfare of Ghana”. It will be unreasonable and insensitive on my part to say that all is rosy– NPP National Deputy Secretary

The National Deputy Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has confessed that all is not rosy in the country. Apexnewsgh.com reports According to Mr. Obiri Boahen who spoke to Apexnewsgh.com on the increasing rate of food commodities and how difficult it has become for Ghanaians to raise Ghc 2.00 for just a ball of Kenke which was initially sold at the rate of 0.50 pesewas and Ghc 1.00 respectively. Sharing his opinion on the issues of hardship raised by Ghanaians, Mr. Obiri Boahen confessed that it will be unreasonable and insensitive on his part to say that is rosy. However, he believes by December- January there will be abundant of food in the country. “It will be unreasonable on my part to say that all is rosy, it will be insensitive on my part to say that all is rosy. But I believe that very soon food will be in abundance because honorably we are in November. Some years gone by in November some will be getting ready to harvest maize but this time, people starts planting maize not quite long ago. So, I can foresee that from December-January, plantain, cassava and maize will be in abundance in the market because of the change in the rainfall pattern, it has affected a good number of farmers”. It will be a serious betrayal to the late Rawlings in the grave, if Konadu returns to NDC–Nana Obiri Boahen

The National Deputy Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has said, it will be a serious betrayal if the wife of the late former President Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings returns to NDC after the husband’s death. Apexnewsgh.com reports According to him, looking at the vilification, the humiliation and barrage of insults by the activists, supporters and sympathizers of the opposition National Democratic Congress poured on her when he left the party which the late husband witness before he died, it will be a stab at the back of the late husband in the grave. Mr. Boahen spoke during an interview with Apexnewsgh.com “It will be difficult for NDC and Madam Konadu to reconcile, looking at the circumstances that led to Konadu’s party and the attacks coming from their followers. It will be dubious for NDP and NDC to come together. It will be a betrayal of the late Jerry John Rawlings in the grave if Konadu does that. It will be a serious betrayal. Because in all honesty, you cannot tell me that Konadu formed NDP without informing the husband and if you look at the history of NDP, when they are making reference to the founding members, they mention Jerry John Rawlings name. Now if Jerry John Rawlings is alive, that is a different thing, which is possible Jerry could talk to the woman and the woman will go back. But now that the man is gone, he is in the grave and the wife agreed that she will go back to NDC? With the greatest respect, it will be a stab at the back of Jerry in the grave”. Look at the insults when Rawlings was alive, the vilification, the humiliation and barrage of insults by NDC activists, supporters, sympathizers poured on Konadu stating from the Fonka base in Sunyani. Some of us believe in life after death. The spirit of Jerry John Rawlings is still moving around”. Apexnewsgh.com reports According to Mr. Boahen who was interviewed on Apexnewsgh.com platform on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, … the NPP is the nose, mouth, eyes and ears of the country Ghana. Apart from this tradition, there is no other tradition in this country that can move the nation forward and what has happened tells you how the NPP is and NABCO is a laudable and remarkable achievement”. He said He was responding to the directive made by the Ghana Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia asking over 68,000 NABCO beneficiaries across the country who were earlier asked to go home by their National Headquarters after their 3-year programme elapsed to return back to post as the government makes permanent arrangement for them. However, Mr. Boahen expressed satisfaction with the bold step decision made by Vice President. “As a country is a clear indication of how determined the government is prepared to arrest the issues of joblessness and for me, I applaud the government for this bold initiative and more especially the Vice President for coming out to give this directive”. As for those who were talking about the time limit, whether there is a time limit or there is no time limit, for me the most important thing is that some young Ghanaians are been employed.
