NPP respond to Casper Sunday Kampoli described his comment against Nana-Buwumia as “reckless and irresponsible”

The Upper East Regional Communication Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has registered high level of displeasure with the comment made by Casper Sunday Kampoli, the Deputy Upper East Regional Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). The statement says: “The attention of the Regional Communications outfit of the NPP in the Upper East Region has been drawn to a news item published by APEX News, an online news portal that cited the NDC Upper East Deputy Communications officer (Sunday Casper Kampoli) calling on student nurses to make sure the Nana Addo-Bawumia Government looked bad in the eyes of the patients they will be caring for in the various units of the Hospital, CHPS Compounds, Health Facilities, etc and that is the only way the NDC can win power in the 2024 elections. “This call from Sunday Casper is an admission of the fact that, the NDC has lost the infrastructure and economic development debate in the Region and what is left of them is to do heartless propaganda with innocent patients seeking medical care at various health facilities”. We condemn his reckless and irresponsible comments in no uncertain terms. This kind of “politicking” is destructive and retrogressive in our body politics. It is preposterous and iniquitous to admonish young, up-and-coming health professionals to do black propaganda about the health of the vulnerable who will be at the mercy of their care. This call from Sunday Casper is an admission of the fact that, the NDC has lost the infrastructure and economic development debate in the Region and what is left of them is to do heartless propaganda with innocent patients seeking medical care at various health facilities. The NDC as a political party that has always benefited massively from the people of the Upper East in terms of votes do not have anything worthwhile to show for the loyalty of the people towards them but can only resort to their dubious, malicious and mischievous propaganda communication to brainwash and hoodwink young nursing students to use the wards, theatres, etc as a political playground instead of professionally caring for the sick. Sunday Casper Kampoli and his ilk must come to terms with the fact that the auditorium he used to make that call was built by an NPP government under former President Kufuor. We can see the NDC running away from the debate of records with their tails between their wobbly legs.We in the NPP will not follow the NDC into the gutters but we shall make sure we bring them out of the gutters, clean, and beat them to the infrastructure debate from which they want to run away from. We would like to advise the NDC to abstain from their dirty propaganda and groom the young ones to grow into becoming responsible politicians in the future rather than resorting to politicizing every aspect of their lives. The NPP will always roll out policies that will inure to the benefit of the ordinary Ghanaian, the 1 constituency, 1 ambulance, the employment of drivers and paramedics to man those ambulances, the agenda 111 initiative which seven (7) Districts namely, Builsa South, Kassena Nankana West, Bolgatanga East, Nabdam, Binduri, Pusiga, and Garu are beneficiaries, the internet connectivity in the Regional Hospital and all District Hospitals to eliminate the folder system, the countless CHPS Compounds and Nurses Quarters that we have built across the Region and the famous drone technology to supply essential drugs and blood to unmotorable areas are all health-related policies by the Nana Addo-Bawumia Government. The integrity of the NPP Government is not sullied that the “NDC nurses” will find it easy to make things look bad in the eyes of their patients. We want to use this release to urge the students to disregard this ill advice from selfish politicians like Sunday Casper and concentrate on becoming health professionals that meet WHO standards. The Deputy Communications Officer as they say Ghanaians have short memory saddenly forgot that his Government led by the incompetent John Mahama canceled the allowance regime with the excuse that those funds were going to be used to expand infrastructure in health colleges. How many of such facilities did the NDC build in this region with those funds? It took the bold, decisive and courageous Nana Addo to restore the allowances of which your TEIN freshers will soon enjoy. It’s worthy of mention that just two weeks ago trainees received their allowances across the Country. We are however, not surprised that such an advise will come from a Deputy Communications Officer just like the leaked tape by their National Chairman seeking to wage a relentless war against the innocent EC Boss and some National officers of our party. We further advise Casper to be measured in his communication and not be carried away by making such populace and Nation wrecking statements just to usher in freshers into TEIN. The Directorate is very much aware of his desperation to remain relevant in a lame communication vehicle of the opposition NDC in the Region. He should have used the opportunity to proffer alternatives regarding policy in the Health sector. We urge the

The people of Upper East should rather reward NPP with more seats for delivering Bolga-Bawku road

The Binduri Member of Parliament Abanga Abdulai says, he still stands by his pronouncement made about NDC’s unseriousness and treatment shown the people of the Upper East Region towards the construction of Bolga-Bawku, stressing that, if the people of Upper East want to be fair, they should rather reward the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with more of the seats from the region. Mr. Abanga made his stance stronger whiles responding to the press release issued by the Regional Communication Bureau of the Opposition of the NDC in the region on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. “The attention of the NDC Regional communication Bureau has been drawn to a very wicked and mischievous lie by the MP for Binduri constituency that, President Mahama cut sod for the Bolgatanga -Bawku -Pulmonkom road three times”. “According to the non-performing MP “President Mahama came to that area to cut sod for the road not once, not twice but thrice or so and the road was still there” section of the press release says. Meanwhile, Speaking to Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on ApexnewsGhana flagship developmental programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” on Thursday, September 29, 2022, the MP said, The bottom line of his statement is not about whether the former President Mahama cut sod one time, two times, three times. “The bottom line of my statement and still stand by it, is that the NDC that the people of the Upper East Region have consistently been voting for is providing very little as compared to what this government for 4 years has done for the people of the Upper East Region. So, the people of the Upper East Region, if they want to be fair should rather reward the New Patriotic Party with more of the seats from the region”. He said: “I sighted the example of the Bolga- Pulmakum road, this road if you are in the Upper East before 2017, there are times that people will say it openly that people who come from Bawku, Zebilla were refusing to travel back home because of the nature of the road. Is just like today, there is no dumsor, people seem to have forgotten that in 2015-2016 there was dumsor that you could be in your offices and there is no light, you will be in your house and there was no light for your fridge, you want to iron your cloth and you don’t have light, and factories had to close down because there was no light. But, today because there is a regular light, people have forgotten that there use to be dumsor was NDC was in power”. “I am saying that before NPP came to power, the Bawku road was a death trap. You have to travel about 4 hours before you get to Bolga”. “Yesterday, I was in my village Bassi and I got up there within 20 minutes I was in Bolga, because the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Akufo-Addo came to power and look for money to construct that road. Today, am sitting in Accra. It is possible because that has been fixed within less than 4 years”. “And they come and they are talking about me not performing, Look, is only the people of Binduri who can determine whether am performing or not”. How do you place a project like Bolga- Bawku Pulmakum road the funding to be financed by Road Fund? If you are really someone who is interested in the welfare of the people, the nature of that road, if the government then were interested and very serious in delivering services to the people of the Upper East Region, they would have gone to secure a loan, a facility from a bank to fund that road. When this government came to power, that is exactly what the government did and the Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia is somebody who took a personal interest in this project. You can ask the contractor they will tell you. And there is a fund available that is why the road was quickly done”.
