General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said the party’s former Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho is currently answering questions before the disciplinary committee of the main opposition party. He said the committee will advise the party leadership appropriate on the next line of action against Mr Anyidoho when the time is due. Mr Nketia said this in an interview with TV3’s Komla Adom on the Mid Day news Wednesday March 24 after the suspension of former Central Regional Chair of the NDC Allotey Jacobs and another member Stephen Atubiga. “[Koku Anyidoho] is currently before the disciplinary committee. The committee has not reported to us. There is a time limit within which they must finish their work. “The time has not expired yet so we have not had any reason to go back to them. We are expecting them to do a good work and then advise the party leadership on the way forward.” The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the NDC suspended Mr Anyidoho. His suspension letter stated that the petitions from Oti Region’s Communications Officer, Mobarak Abdul-Karim, and Bono Region’s Deputy Communications Officer, Eric Adjei, have been referred to the Disciplinary Committee for further action. “You are therefore by this letter to take note, and notice is hereby given, that your membership of the NDC is suspended pending the hearing and final determination of the petitions against your conduct,” Mr Asiedu Nketia, who was contested against by Mr Anyidoho at NDC’s last national executive congress, stated in the letter dated Monday, February 8, 2021. Since losing the 2020 elections, Koku Anyidoho has taken to Twitter to make comments that have not gone down well with many members of the party. 3news Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Election 2024: NDC doesn’t need beaten individual to lead party – Koku Anyidoho
A former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has said that the party does not need anyone who thinks he is more important than others to lead as flagbearer into the 2024 elections . In a tweet, he said “I hear a misdirected lonely voice say in its wilderness, that, the NDC needs a beaten individual more than the NDC needs its survival? Laa eee la lai! Torfiakwa l!!!” He added “The NDC does NOT need anyone: Anyone who thinks he/she is more important than the NDC must leave the NDC and go form his/her own Party. NDC is bigger than any self-conceited individual.” His comments come after some persons within the party including Eastern Regional communication officer of the NDC Dallas Williams have said that former President John Dramani Mahama is the NDC’s best better for the 2024 general elections . Mr Williams, for instance, said Mr Mahama is popular than any other person within the party and is in best position to wrestle power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mr Mahama lost the 2020 general elections . He later filed a petition at the Supreme Court to challenge the result of the elections . However the apex court dismissed his petition on the grounds that it was without merit. The NDC will now have to restrategize for the next elections . Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tutu on the Onua FM, Dallas Williams said “He is the one that the grassroots want, he is a grassroots person and so anyone who contests him will not even get four votes in the primaries in the Eastern Region. “We will protect John Dramani Mahama and make sure that he represents the NDC in 2024 to wtret6sle power from the NPP. “Within the NDC there is no doubt John Mahama is the most popular person who can win the elections . If you have such a person do you go for another person to be flagbearer for the NDC.” 3news.com Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. When did ‘small boy’ Sammy Gyamfi join NDC? – Koku Anyidoho
Former Deputy General Secretary of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho has lambasted the National Communication Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi for attacking the party’s leadership in Parliament including the Speaker of Parliament. Describing Sammy Gyamfi as an upstart who recently joined the NDC, Koku Anyidoho wondered why and how he could muster the courage to attack the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Bagbin, the Minority Leader, Hon Haruna Iddrisu and the Minority Chief Whip, Hon Muntaka Mubarak for their role in approving some ministers-designate of President Akufo-Addo. “It was about two weeks ago that we heard that a certain small boy in the NDC who feels the NDC is his bonafide property; the boy who recently joined the party has attacked the Speaker of Parliament and the leadership of the NDC in Parliament,” he chastised. “This boy who joined the party recently wants to be carried in a palanquin; he has no respect for anyone and he says whatever he wants and now he has clashed with the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Bagbin,” he chided. The Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills however applauded the courage of the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Bagbin for responding to Sammy Gyamfi and also for making it clear that he will not sit down and allow his office to be abused. Mr Koku Anyidoho stressed the need to build a healthy institution and a healthy governance process as it is the agenda of the Atta Mills Institute to promote a good governance system in the country. “As for the politics we will do it but we should not allow the culture of insult to take over the governance process. We thank Rt. Hon Speaker Alban Bagbin for saying that he is not a Speaker of a political party but a Speaker for Ghana’s Parliament,” he applauded. He reminded Sammy Gyamfi and his likes who are attacking and calling the Speaker of Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu and Muntaka as betrayals to think of how Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin assumed that position when both the NDC and NPP have an equal number of seats in Parliament. He, however, could not fathom the cause of the insults the like of Sammy Gyamfi in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) rained on the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin when he was not the Chairman of the Appointment Committee in parliament. PeaceFM Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. “I’m not leaving the NDC no matter what happens–Koku Anyidoho
The former Deputy Secretary of the Opposition National Democratic Congress Samuel Koku Anyidoho has refuted claims that he was suspended by the party leadership. On February 9, 2021, the National Democratic Congress issued a statement announcing the suspension of former deputy General Secretary Koku Anyidoho. In a statement signed by the General Secretary, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, the party said it considered two separate petitions before suspending Anyidoho. This decision according to the party is in accordance with articles 46(1),46(6), and 46(8)(b) of the party’s constitution. “At its meeting on the 20th January 2021, FEC considered two separate petitions from two registered members of the National Democratic Congress (copies attached) each of which lodged an official complaint against your conduct which is viewed to be in breach of the Party’s disciplinary code for its members as contained in the NDC Constitution. The petitioners are: Mr. Mobarak Abdul Karim (Oti Reg. Com. Officer), Eric Adjei (Bono Reg Dep. Com. Off.),” the letter dated February 8, 2021 read. “You are therefore by this letter to take note and notice is hereby given, that your membership of the NDC is suspended pending the hearing and final determination of the petitions against your conduct”. But according to Mr. Anyidoho, in an interview with Nana Aba on Starrfm on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, he maintained that he is still a bonafide member of the NDC. According to him, he has not received any letter of suspension from the party. “I have not received any letter to that effect. I have not received any news. I’m a bonafide member of the NDC just that I’m doing different things now, the delegates made a choice and I have never been angry. Even that day at Trade Fair, I stayed till the very end. I’m not leaving the NDC no matter what happens,” he told Nana Aba in an interview monitored by Apexnewsgh.com Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. That question of whether his guest wished his wife well during International Women’s Day nearly spoiled the interview, because Mr. Anyidoho wasn’t prepared to share his family issues in the public. “I would walk out of this studio, don’t annoy me. Koku Anyidoho’s wife speaks about how she was sacked, baggage thrown out of matrimonial home
There seems to be a storm brewing in the home of former General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho as his wife has emerged to accuse him of throwing her out of their matrimonial home. Jennifer Boahemaa Yeboah told GhanaWeb in an exclusive interview yet to be aired on the #SayItLoud programme that, following months of emotional abuse and negligence from her husband, Mr Anyidoho sent her packing from their home. It will be recalled that Madam Jennifer was involved in a car accident in November last year which resulted in the loss of their 8-year-old daughter. She furthered that Mr Anyidoho abandoned her after the accident, taking away their only surviving son because he blamed her for the death of their daughter. The estranged wife recounted to GhanaWeb, how shortly after being discharged from the hospital, while arrangements were being carried out for the burial of their daughter, the former NDC General Secretary sent bottles of schnapps to her parents in the company of some friends to dissolve their marriage after their marriage of about 6 years. She noted that her family took receipt of the drinks to be used as evidence when the two families formally met to deliberate on the matter. Madam Jennifer told GhanaWeb that what broke the camel’s back was events that occurred on Tuesday, February 23. She noted that while she was away, Mr Anyidoho packed some of her belongings from their matrimonial home and sent it to her mother’s house in a KIA truck on her blind side. “Sending an unknown driver to bring some of my things without anyone’s knowledge, and the marriage has not been dissolved officially, I don’t know what to say… I was there yesterday trying to sort out a few things at my new apartment when I got a call from my 78-year-old mother that a KIA truck is here with some few things that Anyidoho said they should bring it…” she told GhanaWeb. Meanwhile, Mr Koku Anyidoho is yet to respond to the allegations. When GhanaWeb reached out to him, he was unavailable. ‘Who born dog’ – Koku Anyidoho mocks NDC communicators after Ayine contempt
Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho has taken a swipe at some elements in the party. According to the former NDC Deputy chief scribe, these young elements who would have ordinarily been all over the place after court sitting in the ongoing presidential election petition, were rather spotted with a calm demeanor that comes off as if they have been bathed with ice. This in the view of Anyidoho, was as a result of the heat the bench gave former Attorney General, Dominic Ayine who was cited for making contemptuous statements about the court. “Yesterday when court closed, those usually carrying their weight around looked like they had iced block on their tongues, some couldn’t talk again. Now they were saying ‘we shall respect the decision of the court,” he stated in an interview on Okay FM monitored by GhanaWeb. Speaking further on the matter, Anyidoho who was audibly elated dared any of the NDC legal communication team members to poke the bench by making contemptuous comments against it. “The animal cries differently when caught in a trap and when one of them got caught yesterday they were talking differently. Now they are saying they will respect the court’s decision like Rawlings would usually say ‘who born dog’ for you to say you won’t respect the court?” he questioned. Lawyer Dominic Ayine was summoned by the Supreme Court panel sitting on the election petition to explain why he be must not be punished for passing some comments on the ongoing petition. Mr Ayine who is a member of the NDCs legal team commented to the effect that the court had a “pre-determined agenda” to rule against the petitioner in the 2020 presidential election petition, former President John Dramani Mahama. He subsequently apologized after facing the bench who had cited him for contempt. Ghanaweb Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications.
