The founder of the National Liberation Congress (NLC) Stephen Atubiga has revealed that Upper East Region is not developed because the people are good at pulling themselves down than helping one another. Mr. Atubiga made the pronouncement during an engagement on Apexnewsgh.com dubbed; SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST’ on Friday, January 13, 2023, a developmental programme introduced to look into issues that bother on development in the region. The underdevelopment in the region has become a headache to most patriotic citizens who want the Upper East as one of the oldest regions to be a better place. Things that are known to be common in some other regions in Ghana such as airports, sports stadiums, passport offices etc, cannot be seen in the Upper east region. Meanwhile, asking the NLC founder Mr. Atubiga his view on the worrying situation bedeviling the region’s development, he said:“Is unfortunate that we come from a region people are good at pulling each other down than helping others, a region where we don’t pick each other like the way the southerners do to their people. We are from a region, very poor and we are the best to stab each other in the back. We are from a region where, instead of supporting a neighbor, we support a neighbor because we think we want to have some benefit in a particular political party. We are from a region where we are very wicked to our own selves. The best thing we want to see is when our northern brother fails. We are not united, we have put that brotherly love aside, and everybody cares about their stomach”. He stressed He further added “Territorial interest is also what is killing us. If you look at the region, chieftaincy issues which has transcended down and if we are not careful, because of the intermarriages, Upper east will be left behind”. A young man has no future for anyone to look up to in our region because you are not his child. They have allowed our pocket to determine who to sit with. People of Upper East Region enemies of development, reasons why Upper West is ahead
:Written By Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Upper East is region blessed with wonderful places especially with lots of tourist attraction areas such as Paga crocodile pond, tono dam, pikworo slave camp, Upper east regional museum, tongo hill etc. But there is no doubt, is a region deprived of important developmental and social amenities such as Regional Airport, Regional Sports Stadium, Regional Hospital, Regional Passport Office, just to mention but few. It is becoming so worrying to its patriotic citizens who actually have started asking about the crime they have committed by voting and as well making recommendations for appointments for politicians from the region who will end up disappointing them by not using their positions and office to secure good developmental projects for the region they represent. According to the people of Upper East, a region that had the opportunity of having their own flesh and blood as the Ghana Minister for Youth and Sports under the NDC John Dramani Mahama administration, isn’t supposed to be crying for none availability of a Regional Sports Stadium in 2021, especially when such a big opportunity was missed by their own selves. Meanwhile, Upper West got their stadium with 5,000 capacity in 2006. And yet, just like ‘eve’ in the bible was created from the ribs of ‘Adam’ so was Upper West created from the ribs of Upper East. A region that had their own flesh and blood as the Ghana Aviation Minister during the first batch of President Akufo-Addo/Buwumia administration isn’t supposed to be crying for not having an airport in 2021, especially when such precious opportunity was used to play politics among the same beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the people of Upper West opened their airport for commercial flight operations in October 15, 2019 with service by Africa World Airlines from Accra via Tamale using an Embraer 145 regional jet. And yet, just like ‘eve’ in the bible was created from the ribs of ‘Adam’ so was Upper West created from the ribs of Upper East. As at the time of this publication, the people Upper East still risk their lives on a daily basis traveling to Tamale the Northern regional capital for their passport application and renewal. Meanwhile, the people of the Upper West Region commissioned their Passport Application Center (PAC) in 2020. This bringing the number of Passport Application Centers across the country to 13. And yet, just like ‘eve’ in the bible was created from the ribs of ‘Adam’ so was Upper West created from the ribs of Upper East. The Upper East Regional Hospital unlike other regions has become a political ring tone for the two main political parties NDC/NPP every election year. You will be amazed when listening to party communicators from both parties arguing on whose party contributed more than each other at the ongoing renovation work at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital. Meanwhile, 160-bed capacity Upper West Regional Hospital was made open to the general public in January 9, 2020, even after a little delay. Because President Akufo Addo earlier commissioned the US$ 52 million facility in August 2019. And yet, just like ‘eve’ in the bible was created from the ribs of ‘Adam’ so was Upper West created from the ribs of Upper East. What could be cause for the Upper East set back on development? Tribalism/Discrimination, political slavery, greed, hatred, self centered, giving positions non patriotic individuals, ethnicity superiority, literacy superiority and above all disunity were all captured as the real cause of Upper East Region set back on development. Those given opportunities must start thinking outside the box: When Mr. B goes into the office and he decides to do the same thing Mr. A was doing before leaving the office then, Mr. B is not thinking ‘OUTSIDE THE BOX’. In the Upper East Region, it appears development from the two main political parties NDC and NPP are not seeing much light of the day due to the spectacle both big parties are putting on for the region and this is a contributing factor affecting development in the region. Those from the region appointed into positions of MMDAs, regional and national must start thinking outside the box as far as development in the region is concerned. What one could describe as ‘political slavery’ is another canker bedeviling the people of the Upper East Region in terms of developmental projects, unlike some other regions such as Upper West where the people cherished development irrespective of the political party one belongs to. For the National Democratic Congress (NDC), their mentality on the ground as far as Upper East Region is also not helping matters when its comes to development. Because their mentality that the people of the Region vote for NDC come rain come shine because Upper East Region is NDC stronghold and whether they campaign or not they will surely win. Such mentality, is not helping the region in terms of development. Below is a typical example. A piece of published evidence which was reported on a local radio station A1 radio somewhere in November 23, 2020 “IF WE DON’T CAMPAIGN IN UPPER EAST, WE WILL STILL WIN – NDC SECRETARY” “The Upper East Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Donatus Akamugre Atanga, has expressed confidence that his party remains solid in the region to secure the endorsement of voters in the upcoming December 7 general elections; even if they don’t campaign in the region. “According to Mr. Akamugre, though the Upper East Region is considered a stronghold of the NDC, their continuous campaign in the region was to show appreciation to the people of the region for their undying support to the party; and not necessarily to canvas for votes”. So, this mentality by a respected Party Regional Secretary, also confirmed why development isn’t coming as expected in the region and why those elected to represent their constituencies and the region decide to sleep on their jobs. After all, whether they brought development or not next election they will come and
Fake Taadi pregnant woman is an NDC member, Stephen Atubiga claimed
Founder of the National Liberation Congress (NLC) Stephen Atubiga claimed the fake Taadi pregnant woman is an NDC member. According to the post by Mr. Atubiga on his Facebook wall, “… the fake pregnant woman is an NDC member. If her NDC party can fake victory to court without the pink – sheets, and could not even tell the justices of their victory figures when asked, why can’t she also fake her pregnancy? Pregnancy in marriage is an accomplishment /victory, while accomplishment in the election is also a victory”. However, he went further to conclude that “We should not be surprised if she blames EC for taking her pregnancy just like her NDC party did in 2020”. Stephen Atubiga, former communication member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and now founder of the National Liberation Congress (NLC)is appealing for a state security following the allegations that members of the NDC are threatening his life. Mr Atubiga who announced his resignation from the opposition NDC over what he described as ‘’intolerance and vindictiveness’’ under the leadership of Ofosu Ampofo-led NDC later formed the National Liberation Congress. Months after, Mr Atubiga is accusing the party of making moves to attack him claiming some leading members of the party have confided in him to be careful of his safety. To this end, Mr Atubiga in a letter addressed to the Interior Minister is demanding protection. “As a law-abiding citizen of this country, the NLC would not and will never take the laws into our hands by visiting mayhem on our attackers, instead, we want to appeal to you His Excellency, President and Commander-in-Chief, the IGP, and the National Security outfit to urgently provide me with security and protection,” part of the letter said. VIDEO: “Ofosu Ampofo Is The Most Useless Chairman” He Has Turned The Party To A Keep Fit’ Party And ‘Red Wearing Shirt Press Conference Club”- Stephen Atubiga
The founder of National Liberation Congress (NLC) Stephen Atubiga who recently was resigned from his mother party National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described NDC as a party that has lost focus. Mr. Atubiga who speaking during an engagement with NET2 TV when was keenly monitored by Apexnewsgh.com said, the leadership of the party has turned the party into a ‘KEEP FIT’ Party and ‘RED WEARING SHIRT PRESS CONFERENCE CLUB’. The aggrieved Atubiga who was seen bitter whiles responding to the predicament between him and the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says, the leadership of the party does not know their priorities and hence cannot bring anything good on the table. “NDC has lost focus and they have turned the party into keep fit party and red wearying shirt press conference resistance club in the sense that, they don’t know their priorities”. He stated However, in his own view, Mr. Atubiga believes the current National Chairman of the opposition NDC MR. Ofosu Ampofo is the most useless and incompetent Chairman he has ever seen in his lifetime. According to him, the former President John Dramani Mahama Presidential ambition will not be successful if the party still maintains Ofosu Ampofo as their National party Chairman. “The most useless and incompetent Chairman I have seen is Ofosu Ampofo, and John Dramani Mahama should forget winning election in Ghana as far as Ofosu Ampofo continued to be his Chairman”. “Nobody is intelligent in this country more than northerners…….-Atubiga
The founder of the National Liberation Congress (NLC) Stephen Atubiga has said, no tribe is intelligent and had played a strategic role or enjoys a position in Ghana more than northerners. Mr. Atubiga made the revelation during an exclusive interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Friday. Even though he was proud of such a great milestone for his northern people, he registered massive displeasure by stressing that those who got the opportunity to represent them in government failed woefully. “Nobody is intelligent in this country more than northerners, nobody had played a strategic role or enjoy position than northerners whether is a muslim or whatsoever is always reserved for us in the issue of all political party in this country. But what have we done with it? “Dr. Limann failed us, all the president, they all failed to bring development to the whole northern regions when they got the opportunity. When Hilla Limann got the golden key to rule and to show that northerners we are capable of leading the country, how can they do coup overthrow you and come back and overthrow you again? What kind of useless leader can you be? “Then, when John Dramani Mahama got the opportunity, people that he entrusted to SADA to what have you to make sure the gap was closed, what do they do? We became the devil on our own. If JDM had brought a Southerner or someone to hold those SADA, GYEEDA and what have you, the north could have gone far”. JUST IN: NDC suspends Atubiga
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended Stephen Atubiga, a communication member of the party for anti-party behaviour. The NDC in a statement noted that during its Functional Executive Committee (FEC) meeting after summoning Mr Atubiga in February in respect of a news item attributed to him captioned “Only useless politicians retire poor” where he made disparaging and unfounded comments about key senior party members including Joshua Alabi, he was told to apologise and retract his statement. The party said although Mr Atubiga at the said meeting profusely apologised never to do or say anything that would bring the name of the party into disrepute and to write officially on his Facebook wall retracting his statement and apologise to Joshua Alabi, recent publications on social media attributed to him on March 8, March 12, 14 among others, denigrating the party and individuals in the party indicate that he is not only in breach of his own promises and hence not reliable but he is further denting the image of the party contrary to article 47(1)(a,b) of the Party’s constitution. “You also failed to write the letter of apology to Joshua Alabi as you earlier promised,” the statement said. At the end of its deliberations, therefore, FEC said it arrived at the decision in accordance with the said articles 48(6), 48(8 a and b) of the Party’s constitution: 1. That with immediate effect, your membership of the NDC is suspended. 2. That the matter be referred to the Party’s Disciplinary Committee for further action. The statement urged Mr Atubiga to cooperate with the disciplinary committee. This comes a day after the party expelled its former Central Regional Chairman, Mr Bernard Allotey Jacobs for “anti-party’ behaviour. Mr Allotey Jacobs had been on suspension for several months. A few weeks ago, he came out to say he was no longer part of the NDC. A letter communicating his expulsion said: “At our meeting on Wednesday, 17 March, the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC considered the report and recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee on the case or misconduct and anti-party behaviour brought against you, Mr Allotey Jacobs, pursuant to Article 48(1) (b) and 8 (b) of the NDC Constitution”. “The Committee’s report, which is herein attached for your attention found you guilty of the said allegations of misconduct, anti-party conduct and recommended, among other things, your immediate expulsion from the party,” the letter signed by General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia said. It added: “The Functional Executive Committee acting in compliance of article 48(1) of the NDC Constitution has unanimously adopted the report and accepts fully its recommendation for your expulsion from the party”. “You are, therefore, by the decision of FEC been expelled from the National Democratic Congress and, for that matter, no more recognised as a member of the party and cannot carry yourself as such”, the letter added. It noted: “You are by this letter and, pursuant to article 48(10), directed to return any party properties that may be in your custody and shall forfeit any money, dues or subscription fees made to the party”. Shame on you for abandoning post for 3 hours to go drink tea – Atubiga to Rojo
Mr Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo (Rojo), one of the two agents who represented the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Electoral Commission’s Strong Room (National Collation Centre), must bow his head in shame for abandoning his job to go an drink tea for three hours at the office of the Chairperson of the election management body, a former flag bearer aspirant of the party, Mr Stephen Atubiga has said. “We are angry, we are upset. I mean, how can somebody go and sit for three hours in somebody’s office drinking tea and would not bow the head in shame but says: ‘I didn’t get biscuit’. I mean, you have an obligation, you left the room ajar”, Mr Atubiga chastised in an interview with Kofi Oppong Asamoah on Class91.3FM’s mid-day news programme, 12Live on Friday, 5 March 2021. “Within the three hours that the man was sitting at the EC Chair’s office drinking tea, do you what can happen within those three hours? Do you know what arrangements can be done? I’m talking about Rojo. Rojo sitting at the EC’s office for three hours, who was coordinating with him? So, the three hours, nobody called him from the campaign directorate, from Afriyie Ankrah and co., from John Dramani Mahama’s office, from Joshua Alabi as the campaign manager; nobody was making a phone call there monitoring and asking them questions? It means somebody was sleeping on the job and without disrespect to anybody, Joshua Alabi is the campaign manager for us, it is his responsibility to coordinate with the party and all sectors to make sure that we get victory”, he fumed. In his view, former President John Mahama “won this election but our negligence started from our campaign manager’s office and then the irresponsible representatives that we had in the EC’s office”. Background Rojo, who was Mr Mahama’s third witness in the just-ended election petition, told the Supreme Court when he was put in the witness box that officials of the Electoral Commission served him tea without biscuit, as he waited his turn to meet the Chairperson to lodge certain complaints to her about some qualms the NDC had with the collation of figures for the presidential election after the 7 December 2020 polls. “I was served tea but not with biscuit”, the former deputy minister of health told the court on Monday, 8 February 2021, as he was being cross-examined by the counsel for the election management body, Mr Justine Amenuvor, who had put it to the witness that he was served tea and biscuit as he sought audience with the EC boss. Mr Mettle- Nunoo also told the court that he was sacked by the EC from its Strong Room on the 9th of December 2020. “The first time I left the strong room when the EC sacked me from the Strong Room”. “That was the first time I left the room. The EC sacked me from the Strong Room”, he insisted, adding: “It has never happened before”. In previous elections, he noted, “I stayed there for 72 hours”. He reiterated: “In the early hours of the 9th, I was sacked from the EC Strong Room and I had to drive from Accra, all the way to Community 25, where I reside. This was around 2 am of the 9th. I then had to wake up very early and go through another two hours of traffic on that […] corridor, back to the EC office”. “I left the strong room the second time to seek audience with the Electoral Commissioner. It was somewhere between 3 O’clock and 4 O’clock”, he mentioned. According to him, “…As required by law, the Returning Officer, was also supposed to be an independent returning officer: to be fair, transparent and determine an election with integrity. So, under those three principles, I was asked to go into the strong room to defend his interest to the best of my abilities”. “In the case of the NPP, you had Mac Manu, John Boadu and so many other people in the Strong Room, even though two people were supposed to have been in the strong room at a time. Why is it that they were permitted to be in the room?” he wondered. He also denied threats that he had told untruths to the court. “That is absolutely untrue”, he said, adding: “I swore an oath to tell the truth and I told the court nothing but the truth”. The longest-serving representative of any political party at the Strong Room also noted that he had, in the past, been sent by EC Chairs to his presidential candidate. “It is not the first time. In my engagement with previous returning officers of the presidential polls, I have had occasion, to leave the Strong Room to go and speak to the person I was representing in the strong room and then I return with the understanding that I had been sent to do so and in this particular instance, I had also been sent to do so.” “So, you want the court to believe that various chairpersons of the EC send you and you obey. Is that the position?” Mr Justin Amenuvor, counsel for the EC asked. “As and when it was necessary to do so in order to resolve the issues”, Mr Mettle-Nunoo said. NDC summons Atubiga over Eugene Arhin comment
The opposition National Democratic Congress has summoned its member Stephen Atubiga over comments he made over the alleged properties owned by presidential spokesperson Eugene Arhin. Mr Atubiga is said to have defended the alleged wealth gathered by the presidential staffer over the last four years. The party in a letter summoning him said his comments were inconsistent with its values. “I write in respect of a news item captioned “Only Useless Politicians Retire Poor”, published on Ghanaweb on Saturday the 13th of February, 2021, which was attributed to you. The report indicated that you have allegedly chided Ghanaians criticizing Eugene Arhin of the NPP for amassing wealth in the space of four years. Excerpts from the statements you are alleged to have made include: ” “It is wise that as an individual working, there is the need to amass wealth so you can give back to your parents and society for contributions made to your upbringing” 2. “It is only a politician who led a wayward life who will retire poor”, the summons letter said. It added: “FEC finds the above statements unfortunate, especially when they are not consistent with the very principles on which the NDC is founded. Consequently, you are invited to meet FEC on Wednesday the 24th of February, 2021 at the Party Head Office, Adabralca at 2:30pm, to explain to FEC why disciplinary actions should not be taken against you”. Meanwhile, the wife of Mr Arhin who first made the claims against her estranged husband has beaten a retreat in her revised documents at the divorce court. Withdraw the case, “don’t allow the injustices judges to give an injustice judgement”
Stephen Atubiga has intensified his call for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the petitioner the former President John Dramani Mahama to withdraw the ongoing election petition. According to Mr. Atubiga, the party should not allow what he describes as ‘injustices judges’ to give an injustice judgment. “We should not allow the injustices judges to give an injustice judgment. We are ready and standing by to face some national leadership of the NDC squarely after the case is over”. Below is the full statement: NDC / JDM should withdraw from the election petition. We should not allow the injustices judges to give an injustice judgment. We are ready and standing by to face some national leadership of the NDC squarely after the case is over. A lot of questions to ask. Most of the national executives should not even try seeking re-election. Whilst the like of General mosquito, Sammy Gymfi, Otokunor, and co must be re-elected. Unopposed if possible. 1)The EC headquarters strong room case would be settled the NDC way after the court. 2)The conspiracy theory in Kumasi and other areas about JDMs votes reduction would be settled the NDC ways. 3)we would know, how one million, seven hundred specifically given to it, just for the collation of results, and end results we got. 4) we will know how most national executives were not in talking terms during election time till date, and expecting to give JDM victory. 5) we will know how others deliberately ignored others who were able and ready to help give JDM victory. 6) why others were bent on sitting around JDM, especially on D day instead of on the ground to give JDM victory. 7) from JDM campaign team and the NDC team, who was in charge on D day , failed to coordinate for our victory. 8) why JDM campaign manager and his team did not declare JDM winner immediately after the election. And announcement of his transitional team. 9) from the youth wings, organizers wing to zongo wings have lots of questions for them after the election petition. Some should resign for their own interest. 10) JDM our leader today and tomorrow, and candidate today and tomorrow. Will equally be told the hardest truth, those who cussed his defeat, those who (had) and have no business around him. Those who could have propelled his victory, if he had sought their help. Especially why JDM with his experience, is refusing to see the direct and indirect traps around him For his defeat today and tomorrow? 11) JDM must know NDC party machinery is not religious, to be Mr nice and good father for all, especially in election periods. JDM must know he is occupying the vacuum of JJ as our leader for life today. JDM is holding 60/100 stake in the NDC party today. JDM is the only surviving former president and incoming president if he sits up. JDM should get it now that, blood must sometimes have to flow both internally and externally for NDCs victory Well, a lot of anger and disappointing issues to let out, after the election petition is over.
