The Upper East Regional Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Charles T. Ndabon popularly as ‘Champion man’ has described his party man, the Upper East Regional Minister Mr. Stephen Yakubu as the worst Regional Minister ever had in the history of the region. Apexnewsgh.com report The party Regional Organizer who was registering his dissatisfaction following Regional Minister’s action against some DCEs said, the Regional Minister only used the DCEs as scapegoats to make it look like he is working in the eyes of his boss the president. A news item reported by GNA on December 24, 2022, says, “Mr. Stephen Yakubu, Upper East Regional Minister locked out some Municipal and District Chiefs Executives (MDCEs) and heads of departments in Bolgatanga for reporting late to the Regional Coordinating Council meeting”. Meanwhile, the Regional Organizer believes the Minister acted wrongly and stressed that the DCEs are under the Regional Minister, “if something like that happened, he can call them for a closed-door meeting, but he is rather bringing these things out to score a political point. He advised, the Regional Minister to sit up with the way he is dealing with his office. “The meeting was for the development of the region. So, if the DCEs are late for 2 to 5 minutes, that is enough but to take public for your boss to know that you are working meanwhile you are the worst Regional Minister we ever have”. he revealed Responding to the question of whether he disliked the Minister? Mr. Ndabon said, “Is not that I don’t like him, I respect him a lot but bringing this thing to the media for them to adore him as a hardworking Minister, I disagree with him, is a setup”. “Did he even engage them before to know why they were late to the meeting? The Regional Minister needs to explain this to the people of the region. Because, he cannot just say they came and he locked them outside, based on what? Each person has to tell his or her story and if the story is not reasonable you can take an action”. he stressed He also believes that the Minister’s action was a strategy way to undermine party projects. Insisting that if things go well the NPP wants to win more seats in the region. “But is this a way to win more seats? He asked “Supposing what they were going to discuss is something that is going to bring development in their various districts and he locked them outside, will they be able to know what is going to happen? He asked “Have you ever heard that President Nana Akufo-Addo locked out his Ministers? Are you telling me that all the cabinet Ministers have been attending meetings at the right time? So, you think the President doesn’t face those things? He does experience those things but, he doesn’t bring them out. The Minister only wants to score a political point and that should not be the case because, if we do that we are rather selling ourselves to our party opponents. He expressed The Upper East Regional Organizer made the pronouncement during an interview with Apexnewsgh.com on December 25, 2022. Political Party wise, NDC ‘must’ be blamed for Upper East Underdevelopment–Aziz Adam Kobilla
Aziz Adam Kobilla a member of the Regional Communication Team of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has said, when it comes to political party wise, NDC must carry the blame for the Upper East Region Underdevelopment. Speaking with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on Apexnews Ghana’s Facebook Live flagship programme dubbed “SPEAK OUT UPPER EAST” on Monday, October 4, 2022, Mr. Aziz Kobilla said, the people of Upper East have given all the opportunities to the NDC. According to Mr. Aziz Kobilla, “It is obvious the people of Upper East trusted the NDC for the past years and they have given the NDC the opportunity. That is the evidence with the number of Members of parliaments we have representing us as the people of Upper East Region and you could observe that from 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 2016, and now. If you look at now that am talking to you, the NPP, the party that I belong has only one Parliamentary candidate and that tells you that we are still struggling to get support from the people of the Upper East Region, we are still struggling to convinced the people of Upper East Region to come to the NPP side”. he stated He went on to say that, “Now that the Upper East has given all the opportunities to the NDC, you would ask yourself with regards to the roads are they okay? NO. With regards to health are they okay? NO. With regards to Education are they okay? NO. So, what is actually the problem? The people we have been sending to Accra (parliament) close to the seat of government to fetch for us…. Let’s put NDC –NPP aside, when they go, what do they bring for us? Do they really tell the people that Upper East needs roads? Do they tell the people that Upper East youth need jobs? Do they tell them that our education needs to improve in our infrastructure? Do they tell them the health situation in the region is deploring? Do they tell them we need an airstrip? “Then, if you want to come a little into politics, you would realize that the NDC in the region has not done us any good. Because when you look at the entire region, we have 15 seats, and out of these 15 seats, NPP only has the Binduri seat. There are even seats in this region that no political party has ever won except the NDC. You can talk of the likes of Bongo, you can talk of the likes of Garu, no political party ever won any of these two but the NDC consistently wins”. “Look at one interesting that is happening before 2016, all the seat around the Bawku area was occupied by the NDC and we the youth was crying for the Bolga-Bawku road for many years. Those were the times Prof. Mills of blessed memory deceived by his own ministers carried along to come and cut sod with any proper funding. So, when he cut the sod, the road was not constructed, they were times even John Mahama himself made a promise that he would construct the road and that was even after the death of Prof. Mills. Then, he came and cut the sod and in fact, he even used a helicopter to come and cut the sod at Tilli close to Zebilla, we did not hear anything. I am just giving hard facts about how the NDC has not treated the people properly and they have taken us for granted. After cutting the sod, he left for several years, until he saw people were angry about what is happening in the Past years. Then around September 2016, he came around again to cut sod and that one too, there was no any proper funding” “We have been able to discover today that our politicians are forthcoming, we can’t throw the politicians away because they are the reason why we are underdeveloped because they had the opportunity but they slept on their job. Permit me to use that word because they had the opportunity, they were close to the government, they were close to President but they slept over it and the topic has to do with whose to blame, and of course, I will not shy away from it, not because am NPP but the fact of the matter is that is the NDC. It is the NDC that should carry the blame, not because am NPP that am saying it. But like i have said, if you sit down and have a self-reflection on how consistently the people of Upper East have been loyal with regards to the evidence on elections, the people listened to the NDC more than any other political party in this region. And if we are underdeveloped, of course, is the NDC”. Upper East NPP Reg Organizer position, see who stand a better chance
On Friday, May 27, 2022, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be electing their regional executives across the country which includes Upper East Region. In the Upper East Region, those contesting the Regional Organizer position are numbering three (3) and they are all capable of handling the position efficiently but unfortunately, the position is meant for only one individual to occupy. However, this platform has taken it upon itself to look through the chances of aspiring candidates vying for the Organizer position. AYAMGA AYINBISA PETER Is a former constituency Chairman, a former District Chief Executive (DCE), and a former NPP Bongo Constituency Member of Parliament contestant in the 2020 general election. Our interview with party members reveals that he started very and ended very ugly as a District Chief Executive, especially with the investigative report by Manasseh Azure of Forthestate.com on some activities happening in the Bongo District Assembly. That report is likely to affect his chances. There are also views like, he is too desperate for party positions. He has been the constituency Chairman, he has given the opportunity as DCE and even after his tenure ended, he contested again to retain his position which did not go well with him, he has contested the parliamentary seat in the Bongo District under the ticket of governing and NPP and unfortunately lost. And currently, he is contesting the Regional Organizers position. Some believe, that he is too desperate for power. That might go against his chances too. Some also believe some of his behavior as DCE will go against him, especially for those who think he came as DCE to accumulate wealth for himself. They said, his love for continuously collecting contract percentages from party people will be a factor against his chances. MARK AYAMGA There was nothing much said about MARK AYAMGA, but members of the party we engaged said, even though he has shown good leadership in the past in his constituency, they are confident that his time to lead will surely come but not in this current election. CHARLES TALEOG NDANBON We also gathered that Ndanbon has issues even in his own Nabdam constituency. He was one of the brains behind the controversial rejection of the current DCE Agnes Anamoo twice during her confirmation. Even though our engagement with party members reveals, that he had gone to plead for forgiveness with some party bigwigs for his regrettable attitude and misconduct, it appears some delegates are still not happy with him. Some also believe that he has not changed and that he is only pretending to be repented. However, this is the second time CHARLES TALEOG NDANBON is contesting the position. He contested the same position in the 2018 regional election and lost a few votes to Jerry Asamani who now going for the Chairmanship position. What to expect: Despite all the negative attitudes of CHARLES TALEOG NDANBON, it appears he paving his way through to victory. Per Apexnewsgh.com’s engagement with those who matter, CHARLES TALEOG NDANBON stands a better chance of winning the Regional Organizer’s position on Friday, May 27, 2022. However, according to the regional election committee of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), 325 delegates are expected to cast their votes to elect party leadership in the region. They are as follows: 17 executives from the 16 constituencies, 17 regional executives, 10 elders, 10 patrons, 15 TESCON Presidents, 3 Representatives to the national council, 1 member of Parliament, 15 TESCON NASARA and WOCON. Total 326. But out of the 326, unfortunately, one delegate won’t be allowed to vote bringing the actual expected delegates to 325. Upper East NPP Regional Secretaryship position and the candidate likely to …
For the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Regional Secretaryship position in the Upper East Region, three individuals will be battling themselves for that particular position on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Bolga GNAT Hall. Apexnewsgh.com is conducting interviews with party members who matter, to pick their views and expectation ahead of the regional party executive election. Read views gathered below: AYAMBIRE CLETUS INNOCENT Is the incumbent Regional Secretary for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region. Party members believe, Mr. AYAMBIRE wasn’t active as a Regional Secretary. They said, his assistant rather took the opportunity of his inactiveness to position himself in party matters. That might affect deeply. ELVIS FIGO A. AWONEKAI Information gathered shows that some people from the BONABOTO area are not pleased with Mr. AWONEKAI, especially because of his relationship working directly with the Regional chairman instead of the Regional Secretary his direct boss. So, some of those against the Regional Chairman, are likely to turn their eyes against him too. That might be a contributing factor against him. During our engagement with party members, they were issues such as, whether were they, not the same people who put the party in such abysmal performance during the 2020 election? They said, they want a new person to occupy the seat. This might also affect the delegate’s decision. However, some party members also hold the view that Mr. AWONEKAI is too desperate for party positions. They said, after electing him the Deputy Regional Secretary in 2018, he contested the Bolgatanga Municipal District Chief Executive position and unfortunately missed the opportunity and this time, he is contesting the Regional Secretary with his current boss. It is their view that he is very desperate for party positions. This might affect his chances too. AMADU MOGTAR BAGYA Is a research member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, According to the few accounts gathered about Alhaji Mogtar, revealed he is liked by many. Due to his hard work to party. Meanwhile, in terms of relationships, they said, Alhaji MOGTAR, is approachable, accommodative and his relationship with party members is cordial. Even though he wasn’t part of the administration of the party and part of the decision-makers who caused the party to lose their already existing 3 Parliamentary seats. AMADU MOGTAR BAGYA, stance on NPP Navrongo Constituency matters especially during Parliamentary primaries between the late Kofi Adda and the former Upper East Regional Minister Tangoba Abayege is likely to pave way for him. Because then, he threw his weight on the side of the late Kofi Adda to become the Parliamentary candidate for the Navrongo but unfortunately, the late Kofi Adda lost the Primaries and automatically Alhaji Mogtar became enemies with the other camp. As Apexnewsgh.com writes today, those he supported then from the late Kofi Adda’s camp are those in Navrongo NPP party leadership currently. That might increase his chances of becoming the Upper East Regional Secretary. However, following the views and information gathered from party members during Apexnewsgh.com engagement with them ahead of the Friday, May 27, 2022, regional party election, AMADU MOGTAR BAGYA stands a better chance of winning the Upper East Regional secretaryship position. Please note, that these are public views gathered by Apexnewsgh.com. The platform is nonpartisan and will not be allowed to be used by any politician to achieve their parochial interest. During the constituency elections, we published our analysis and verdict after our engagement with party members and it came out 98% correct. JUST IN: Wilson Dabuo disowned by Upper East NPP Communication team members
The communication team of the governing New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region has disowned Wilson Dabuo as a member of their Regional Party Communication team. Apexnewsgh.com reports According to a statement issued and signed by leadership members of the Upper East NPP Regional Communication team on Sunday, November 7, 2021, they have collectively disassociated themselves from what they described as misguided comments made against the affected individuals and invariably the New Patriotic Party on October 26, 2021. Wilson Dabuo in a statement release on October 29, 2021 and copied to the media and national party office with the title “The Deteriorating Plight of the Upper East NPP Communicator, Consequent to a Profiteering Puppet Communication’s Director“ According to the disowned Wilson Dabuo, “Sanusi the Regional Communication Director is one of the biggest disappointments in the scheme of communicators’ disappointments. Communicators just pretend all is well! Under his leadership, which conveniently formed the basis of his description as a Profiteering Puppet, the consistency and regularity with which the remittances came from the presidency, the Vice President and the National security Minister, began to witness a dwindling effect and to some extent could be described as a drought in perpetuity”. He further claimed that “From an earlier remittance of ghc800, it came down to ghc350, then to ghc300 and then to ghc200. In this trend, however, it will take the members three months or more before the latter could be paid. Sometimes, it becomes clearly impossible to find out the source of the money because of its irregularities. You dare not ask for clarity. When you do, he would tag you with suspicion”. He also added “Overall, a disturbing scenario is the under declaration of the President’s total amount of money by Sanusi Issah (from ghc25,000 to ghc15000) to be remitted to the team every month. What about monies that came monthly from National security? And of course, the office of the Vice President? These are exclusive to the many fulfilled promises by party’s individuals from the Region”. However, after making what the regional members of the communication team described as wild and disdainful allegations regarding the plights and activities of the regional Communication outfit. Members of the Upper East Communication team entreat the general public to treat Dabuo’s allegations with utmost disdain. Read the full press release: A Disclaimer to the Allegations Levelled Against the Communication Team of the NPP By Mr. Wilson Dabuo 7thNovember,2021 It has come to the attention of the communication team of the NPP in the Upper East Region that one Mr. Wilson Dabuo made certain wild and disdainful allegations on the 26th October 2021 on various platforms regarding the plight of the regional communication team members. As a communication outfit of the party, we wish to state unequivocally that the said personality is not known to us as a member cannot be said to be speaking for on our behalf. We therefore wish to collectively disassociate ourselves from such misguided comments he made against the affected individuals and invariably the New Patriotic Party. Again, it is important to state that all the sources of remittance he alleged are a complete fabrication hence, should be disregarded. The communication team is of the believe that such illusive statements as espoused by him were borne out of naivety and lack of clear understanding of the modus operandi of the party structures. We entreat the general public to treat his allegations with utmost disdain. The communication team wish to bring to the attention of the media who are stakeholders and partners in the political discourse to desist from engaging him as a member of the communication team as his views do not represent that of the communication team. UER:NPP Communication Director accused and described as weakling leader by Wilson Dabuo
The Upper East Regional Communication Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sanusi Issah has been hit with accusation as a weakling leader who does not care for the welfare of members of the communication team in the region by one Wilson Dabuo a former member of the Upper East Regional communication team. Apexnewsgh.com reports According to the former NPP Upper East Regional Communication team member Wilson Dabuo, as far as handling affairs of communicators is concerned, Mr. Sanusi Issah the party Regional Communication Director hasn’t shown leadership, he hasn’t shown that kind of motivation or even to stand up for his colleague communicators. Mr. Dabuo made the alleged accusation and allegation during an interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnews Ghana on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. He said “…the least you talk about Sanusi the Upper East Regional Director of Communication the better. He is one person that has actually disappointed everybody as far as handling affairs of communicators is concerned, he hasn’t shown leadership, he hasn’t shown that kind of strength and motivation, he hasn’t shown any level of leadership that where there is a need for him to stand up for his colleague communicators. He is not doing such a thing. It is weakening to actually mention his name as a Director”. “The fact is that, as a Director in charge of communication of the region, you are part of the executive, it is a fact that the constitution mandates the executive to appoint but, the appointment of the regional director of communication comes with the support base of communicators, we supported him thinking that he would have come in to be a man of himself but he is shown, he is a weakling and could not actually fight for the interest of communicators in the region. And so, he is been manipulated here and there and used to do things that go a long way to affecting the motivation level of communication in the region. He stated And I tell you that in his tenure as Director, communicators only appear on radio to talk just because they love the party, but if is to actually take the consideration they received from Sanusi, they will not actually go for a radio programme and I tell you on record. So, it still remains, as usual, sacrificing for your party. For how long is our communicators going to be sacrificing for our party that is in power and we are not getting anything out of it?” Mr. Dabuo further accused the Upper Regional of the governing NPP Chairman Anthony Namoo and the Regional Communication Director Sanusi Issah of changing the phones brand that was donated by the buffer stock CEO to the communicators somewhere in 2020 within 24hrs at Blue Sky Hotel. “This Director is weak and he is in bed with the regional executive particularly the Chairman and when anything that comes… you remember an issue with some phones that were given to communicators? The phone came and the brand got changed who did that Anthony Namoo collaborated with the Regional Director of Communication and they did that, I tell you. Because we were aware of the brand that came, within 24hrs from the source where the phones were delivered at that particular spot at Blues Hotel the brand of the phones got changed to something that could not last a month. And, I can tell you that those who benefited from those phones will tell you that the phones didn’t last for two weeks. Meanwhile, the very person that brought the phone also gave them the executives the same brand. So, how come the communicators were not able to get the exact brand that was given, how come? In a very strange manner, communicators had their own changed. “But because we were in an election year, nobody wanted to talk and we silent it like that but the communicator lives in pain with such experiences. If you had leadership who would stand for the ordinary people that he is serving, I do not think these things should be happening and among the communicators in the Upper East Region”. He stressed Mr. Dabuo further told Apexnewsgh.com that there are so many things that are happening and yet people cannot talk because when they talk, leadership will silent them and treat them badly.
