The Upper East Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Salahu-Deen Musah Al-Khomeini has descended on some MPs representing the region in parliament under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Apexnewsgh.com report
The Regional Youth Organizer questioned the MP’s contribution in terms of developmental projects in their constituencies since allowed to serve their people. He made the demand during an engagement on Apexnews Ghana’s flagship development programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST REGION” with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on Monday, October 17, 2022.
Mr. Musah Al-Khomeini is of the view that, if one wants to place blame, on those who have led the developmental challenges in the region, it must be put at the doorstep of the NDC MPs from the region.
“Look at Dr. Nawaane, today is his second time and he cannot boost off a single project in the Nabdam District. The same with BT Baba in Talensi. Come to Isaac Adongo, apart from buying mobile phones and sharing to delegates to vote for him, he cannot boost off a single project in the Bolgatanga central”. He stressed
Explaining further, he said; “Go to Tempane where Lambon is coming from, Tempane MP Lydia as we speak came to Tempane with 5 tailoring machines, shared to women went to a radio sat down, and said that she has brought a lot of tailoring machine and share to the women of Tempane. Look at Mahama Aayriga MP for Bawku Central, he cannot boost for a single project he has started and completed and commissioned in Bawku central, these are proven facts. Look at Sampson in Navrongo, what did he do? He came with a street light and that become a celebration that the MP is doing well. Look at what Abanga is doing in Binduri, Abanga bought a borehole drilling machine and the machine is in the constituency drilling boreholes from one community to another, and even houses that request for boreholes, they drill for them. This is an MP that is working trying to change the lives of the people of Binduri. When you go to Builsa North, the only thing Agalga can boost off in Builsa North is sending five people to the Police Service and all of a sudden people are saying Agalga has sent….beyond that nothing more. You cannot point to any developmental project that has been done by them”.
“Today as we speak, we are constructing the Weaga road. If am going to mention the NDC MPs in the Upper East Region and how they have been maltreated and how they have mishandled and how they did not take their constituents serious is very amazing”. He said
However, Mr. Al-Khomeini believes that when it comes to the predicament bedeviling the people of the Upper East Region, the NDC in general enjoyed a lot of political fortune in the Upper East Region and you would agree with me that when it comes to political representation in the parliament of this country, the NDC enjoyed a lot of success from the people of the Upper East Region. Currently, as we speak, we have 1 MP for the NPP and 14 for the NDC. He pointed
