Angry supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who are upset over Alan Kyerematen‘s recent resignation, swiftly descended upon the Upper East Regional office of the party to tear down his posters.

A group of people were observed expressing their frustration regarding someone speaking Twi instead of Grune language. They were actively tearing down posters of the former Trade Minister and expressing their disapproval, saying things like “we don’t want him back in the party… today he says he is with the party, tomorrow he resigns… he should leave for good… he has been planning to go independent for a while… even when he visited the Region, he didn’t meet with delegates, only market women… they will make sure all his posters in the region are taken down.”

On Tuesday, September 25, 2023, Mr. Alan Kyerematen, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), announced his official resignation from the party. Kyerematen, representing the Movement For Change (MFC), decided to step away from the NPP as he felt that his years of dedication and service were not adequately valued by the party. The national office of the NPP expressed their disappointment and described Kyerematen’s resignation as “unfortunate.”
