Akufo-Addo Under Fire As NPP Chairmen Accuse Him Of Neglect; Say Their Wives Are Leaving Them Due To Hardships

Some stalwarts of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of neglect The former constituency chairmen say after spending their resources on bringing the party to power, they have been left to their fate They add that their situation has been worsened by the current economic hardships, with some of their wives leaving them A group of stalwarts from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have lamented the current economic hardships in the country. According to the former constituency chairpersons from across the country, their woes have been further deepened by the neglect from President Nana Akufo-Addo. The group says they have been left to their fate despite selling their properties and spending huge resources on the campaign to win the 2016 and 2020 general elections. At a press conference, a former Chairman for the Sampa Constituency, Seidu Adams, accused the president of not doing enough to reward them after their various sacrifices in the heat of the campaign seasons. Adams, who spoke on behalf of the group of former constituency chairmen, said some of them have lost their wives because they cannot make ends meet. The group says most of them spent their savings for the 2016 and 2020 elections to campaign for the NPP. To their surprise, they say they haven’t been given the recognition they were assured of after the party won power. The aggrieved NPP chairmen say if nothing is done about their predicament, they will be forced to sabotage the party’s efforts to break the eight. Adams added that they will go to all lengths to ensure the party loses in the 2024 election since they have been rendered useless in their constituencies and families. NPP is not a one man’s party, it belongs to all of us –Boakye Agyarko, bites Akufo-Addo

Boakye Agyarko, a former Energy Minister under Akufo-Addo’s first administration has said, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a political party does not belong to one person unlike some other parties. The Presidential candidate hopeful made the pronouncement when responding to the matters arising after President Akufo-Addo’s comment in an interview granted by OTEC Fm in Kumasi. He said: “Some parties belong to individuals but per our tradition, this party does not belong to one person, it belongs to all of us. If one person says something and it doesn’t go well, it affects all of us. We apologize. Mr. Agyarko said, the people of Kumasi needs to be pampered because they gave the party a lot of votes from that part of the country. “So what I’m asking is that they should tamper justice with mercy,” he stressed. Threats to vote out NPP don’t frighten me – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has said that he is not threatened by calls for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be voted out of office in the 2024 election. He said such threats do not frighten him. The President made this comment in an interview on Kumasi-based OTEC FM on Monday. His comment was in response to a question posed by host of the programme regarding what he made of threats by the people of Kwabre against the NPP in the 2024 election due to poor road infrastructure in the area. Reacting to the threats President Akufo-Addo replied, “no problem. I am saying people make those kinds of threats; me they don’t frighten me.” According to him, although he understands the masses may support a party with an expectation, he, however, does not see the need to threaten the government if it fails to deliver. “If you decide to vote for the NDC in the general election, it is your choice and that is not my problem. No one will force you to vote for someone,” he stated. The people of Upper East should rather reward NPP with more seats for delivering Bolga-Bawku road

The Binduri Member of Parliament Abanga Abdulai says, he still stands by his pronouncement made about NDC’s unseriousness and treatment shown the people of the Upper East Region towards the construction of Bolga-Bawku, stressing that, if the people of Upper East want to be fair, they should rather reward the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with more of the seats from the region. The disappointment witnessed by President at Katanga Agenda 111 is a blessing to us—NPP Communication

The Navrongo constituency Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Moses Amoah has described President Akufo-Addo’s visit to the Agenda 111 in Katanga a community in Zaurungu of the Bolgatanga East District in the Upper East Region as a blessing. As part of President Akufo-Addo’s itinerary for his one-day tour to the Upper East Region on the 5th of August, he visits Katanga a community in the Bolgatanga East District just after commissioning the Tono water expansion project in Navrongo. But sadly, it appears President Akufo-Addo’s mood automatically changed immediately after he arrived at the site scene and saw what looks like foundation-level work already done by the contractor in charge and he angrily went back straight to RCC residence. However, reacting to the issue on Apexnewsgh.com’s SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST REGION programme, Mr. Amoah said: “I can tell you that President’s movement to Bolga East was a blessing to us”. A member of the Upper East Regional Communication team of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Moses Amoah has refuted the claim that the Pawlungu Multi-Purpose dam is currently halted. According to the information from some media outlets, CSOs, and some respected citizens in the region who have visited the site, they said workers at the site scene have packed all their materials out from the site. In fact, an NDC communicator during a programme described the state of the current site scene as a grazing yard, stressing that nothing is happening. However, responding to the claim that workers at the Pawlugu site can no longer be found, Mr. Amoah agrees with the fact that “there have been some delays in the project and all of us are not happy but the groundwork has started and the government is committed. He stressed According to him, “As we speak, work is currently ongoing at the Pwalungu Multi-Purpose dam, the relocation process is ongoing, and quantity surveyors are there probably looking at how they can pay compensation to people, they are looking at how they move a different community to another community. He claimed “We have to move it from the rhetoric, we are even better. The NDC came and diverted funds that were secured by Former President Kufour from the Brazilian government to Eastern Corridor road so we are even better. As we speak, there is an office located in Tema for the pawlungu Multi-purpose dam”. Meanwhile, on November 29th, 2019, the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency (H.E.) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, cut the sod for the construction of the Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam Project. The project, which is the single largest investment ever made in the Northern part of Ghana, and is estimated to cost US$993 million, would consist of a Hydro-Solar hybrid system of 60 MW Hydro Power and 50 MW Solar Power. The Multi-Purpose Dam, expected to be completed in four years, would control the perennial flooding in the Northern regions caused by heavy rains and the spillage from the Bagre Dam.
