Bolga: Isaac Adongo puts smiles on the faces of vulnerable family as he celebrates his birthday Anniversary
Bolgatanga Central Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Isaac Adongo has visited a vulnerable widow and her two physically challenged daughters in Atulbabisi community of his constituency with foodstuffs and a cash amount of Two Thousand Ghana Cedis. Apexnewsgh.com reports Speaking during the short donation exercise, Mr. Adongo noted, that his friend Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of (Apexnews Gh) has drawn his attention to the family predicaments and suffering whiles he was far away in Accra, as he promised to come to the family aide when next he visits home. However, as part of his birthday anniversary today Tuesday, October 12, 2021, Mr. Adongo said, with all God’s marvelous work upon his life, he is convinced that there is no other way to thank and appreciate God for his kindness towards him, than supporting the vulnerable. Mr. Adongo who appeared very emotional when he met with the vulnerable family, described the scene as a ‘difficult moment’. He appreciated their widow mother for the love and care she has shown towards her two physically challenged children despite their conditions, as he prayed for God’s blessings and encouragement towards her sacrifice. “We all know that this is a very difficult moment, we all could be in this situation but when God has blessed us and we can walk and fight and fend for ourselves, we must always remember that not everybody is fortunate. She is taking care of these children for humanity and it is for us to encourage her and support her so that she can give these kids as much fulfilling life as she can. Meanwhile, Mr. Adongo said, his initial plan when he had not seen the two physically challenged sisters, was to find a way to train them to take up a trade but was later informed by Chidozie that their condition won’t allow them. He pledged, to continue supporting the family with stipends and once a while replenished the foodstuffs to enable them to live a better life. “Originally our thought when I hadn’t seen them, was to find a way to train them to take up a trade. But yesterday my good friend made me understand that is a bit difficult to achieve that end. So we have to continue to provide this support and this is not going to be the last time. My hope is to be able to continue to provide the stipend and once a while replenished the foodstuff for them so that they can also live a better life. That’s the reality of life, is not everybody who was fortunate. But it tells you and i, how fortunate we are and we must always thank God that we were given some attribute that allows us to do the work that we do and to go out and look for shelter, food and everything for ourselves not because we are special, is because God just have on us and I have a difficulty looking at these kids …. Former Bolga East NPP DCE accused Regional party Chairman and two others of Sabotage
The former District Chief Executive for the Bolgatanga District of the Upper East Region Rev. Emmanuel Abole has accused the Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Anthony Namoo of sabotage. The former DCE made the revelation during an interview with Apexnewsgh.com on Monday, October 11, 2021 Mr. Abole accused the Regional party chairman Anthony Namoo, the Current Bolga East District Chief Executive (DCE) David Amoah and one Malik Anabila Afeghera from the Zaurungu Chief Palace of Sabotage during his time in office as DCE and the election period. He however said, he has no skeleton in his cardboard and must not be afraid to say his mind to any wrongdoing. “Am known to be bold, as bold as a lion as the bible says, I have no skeleton in his cardboard. So, when am constructing issues, I construct them without fear or favor. So, the Regional Chairman has issues with me and let me highlight a few of them before I come to the rejoinder. For example, Hon. David Amoah who is now the District Chief Executive was the key person or the frontline person used by the Regional Chairman and his financier Malik Anabila Afeghera who is from the Zaurungu Chiefs palace but staying in Accra. He further accused the Regional Chairman of been rude, arrogant and disrespectful to even party elders in the region and at the national. “All he can sometimes do is to snub, I wasn’t too surprised when I later heard he does it even at the national level against the general secretary and a number of others. So, that is a character well-known in the party at the highest level that he is arrogant and he is rude and disrespectful”. However, Mr. Abole has vowed to chronicle all his grievances when he settled well at his current working location. To some extent, I even have to call him when am going out to commission a borehole that has been constructed, I invited him and he refused. At some stage, I was compelled now to put the invitation into writing and copied to the regional chairman, he snubs all those ones as well. That is why i said i had issues with the regional chairman”. He pointed “He teamed up with them to sabotage me greatly from all these angles and, I think with time, I will chronicle them very effectively for everybody to see and that is my disappointment. He wants to describe me as bitter person who could not come to terms with change. Mr. Abole stressed Meanwhile, responding to some of the accusations by Mr. Abole, the Upper East Regional Chairman of governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Anthony Anamoo questioned why Mr. Abole is harboring all these issues for long without reporting it the party elders. He believes what the former DCE is doing is a calculated attempt to project a certain candidate and ran him down because he knows the regional election is coming. “We have party elders at the region and constituency, he never for once mentioned all these things to them. So, why would he wait after the election and he also knows that the regional election is also coming and if he has a candidate and he wants to back, he back a candidate but to run me down in other for him to project his candidate is a wrong call he has embarked and I know God willing he will fail. When the election was over, there was a fact-finding committee that was sent across the region. The region has a fact-finding committee and national have and in the report, he never mentioned all these things he is now mentioning. He is not doing all these things in good fate” He stated He believes the action of the former DCE, is impugning the decision of the President because what he is saying, in summary, means that the President made a wrong decision. “He is impugning the decision of the President because from what he is saying, if you summarized everything he said, it means the President made a wrong choice and that is unfortunate. His statement actually means that the President was very right in not reappointing him. Because, this is a young man who has just been appointed by the President, he said, he is comfortable with his appointment. Why can’t he give him the 100 day period we normally give for a honeymoon? The NDC that is even in Opposition is not doing this and you are the immediate past DCE. So, it is expected that what issue you have you keep quiet then later when the person had stepped in. NPP Organiser suspended for plotting against President’s nominee in Jaman South
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Organiser for the Jaman South Constituency in the Bono Region, Adinkra Dominic, has been suspended indefinitely. His suspension follows an audio recording where the organiser was heard allegedly plotting against the approval of the President’s nominee in the exercise to confirm the Jaman South Municipal Chief Executive. In a statement signed by the Regional Secretary, Kofi Ofosu Boateng, the suspended constituency executive admitted fully with no variation in the content and substance of the tape. The statement added that he (Adinkra Dominic) was the one whose voice was on the tape and that he’s not ready to apologise. However, the Regional Secretariat has referred the matter to the Regional Disciplinary Committee of the party for further necessary action to be taken. Some MPs have been denied visas, warned to stay away from anti-gay bill — NPP’s Arthur K reveals
A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) based in the United States, Dr Arthur Kobina Kennedy, has said some Members of Parliament have been denied visas and warned to stay away from the anti-gay bill. He said it is sad “this intimidation is coming mainly from the Western diplomatic community.” The Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill was laid in the House on Monday, August 2 and read for the first time. Reading for the first time, a clerk in the legislative assembly stated that the Bill proscribes lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) and other related activities and propaganda or advocacy and promotion for same. It also came to light that it supports protection for children and persons who are victims or accused of homosexuality. Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako referred the Bill to the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Committee for consideration. “For the first time, it is referred to the Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs for consideration and report,” Mr Asiamah Amoako, who is also the MP for Fomena, directed. The controversial anti-gay bill has already divided opinion in the Ghanaian public discourse. While some, particularly the religious and traditional groupings, have supported the Bill and hopeful of its passing, others say it could incur the wrath of the international community against Ghana. Commenting on this development in a statement, Dr Arthur Kennedy said ” My goal today, is not to opine on the merits of the bill. Indeed, I wish, in the words of the sages, we had “allowed sleeping dogs to lie”. The homosexual community, in my view, were doing fine, in their private spaces, subject to the protections of the law accorded to all citizens. “Unfortunately, the opposition to the bill, motivated by the noble desire to promote tolerance for our homosexual community, has been characterized by intolerance. ” Some lawmakers, including the bill’s sponsor, Sam George have been threatened publicly and privately. It is sad that this intimidation is coming mainly from the Western diplomatic community.” Below is his full statement… TOLERANCE AND THE DEBATE ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY IN GHANA The pending legislation about homosexuality in Ghana has led to unfortunate manifestations of intolerance. Parliament is considering a bill that would criminalize certain aspects of homosexual conduct in Ghana. In response, significant segments of the community, including Christian, Muslim and traditional authorities have offered support. On the other hand, there is an impressive array of intellectuals and government officials who are opposing the proposed bill. Indeed, a significant part of the diplomatic community too, has weighed in, to oppose the bill. My goal today, is not to opine on the merits of the bill. Indeed, I wish, in the words of the sages, we had “allowed sleeping dogs to lie”. As JFK put it, “Tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one’s own beliefs. Rather, it condemns the oppression or persecution of others.”. The West argued that dealing with China and Russia was better that isolating them. The West insisted on constructive engagement with Apartheid South Africa while we beat War drums. They were right.. Let us not fight intolerance with intolerance. The next time there is an election dispute or tribal fighting and the West comes preaching tolerance, it would help if opportunists cannot remind us of Western intolerance! The problem of this bill is not the Parliament. It is reflecting public opinion. Let us continue to educate the public. UER: Earl International PRO gave Sector Minister the Impression they settle all 38 miners —Yenyeya Mining Company Limited
Officials of Yenyeya Mining Company Limited have registered dissatisfaction following a portion of the Presentation made by the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Earl International Mining Group (GH) Gold Limited during the visit of the sector minister for Lands and Natural Resources. According to the Officials of Yenyeya Mining Company Limited, the PRO of Earl International Maxwell Wooma during his presentation gave the sector Minister Samuel Abu Jinapor the impression that all the 38 small scale miners around the area have been compensated and settled without been specific about the current misunderstanding and issues pending between Yenyeya Mining Company Limited and Earl International Mining (GH) Gold Limited. “What happened was that we have seen the sign a new agreement and this new agreement is to enhance peace, so the small scale mining holders who you have just seen in the last slide shall now have some shares in our large scale operations. So, when we mine gold, we will give them 2% of the large-scale gold production so they become an amalgam of small-scale miners who will have a common interest in our large-scale business. We have also compensated them because they incurred some losses or some expenses in the cause of their production and their small scale business. So, they have since been compensated” Earl International PRO told the Sector Minister.
