The Former Minister for Health who doubles as the Minister of Health designate in the Akufo-Addo second administration Dr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu has hinted that 82 percent of Ghana Doctors are working between Ashanti and Great Accra Regions, whiles the rest of the 14 regions in Ghana shared the remaining 8 percent.

The Minister-designate, revealed this on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, during vetting when he met with the vetting committee.

According to the Minister who was responding to the question by the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio Nii Lante Vanderpuye who was curious about the number of Doctors and midwives serving across the country in various regions.

However, regions such as Upper East, struggle for doctors each year, none of the doctors accept postings even those from the region enjoy working outside for a lot of reasons. This has become a major challenge successive governments failed to address.
