West Ham Football Club is reportedly ready to shatter their current club transfer record in order to secure the signature of Victor Boniface, the talented striker from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Hammers made headlines in July 2019 when they paid a staggering £45 million for Sebastien Haller, an Ivory Coast international. However, they are now willing to go above and beyond that figure to acquire the services of Boniface, who hails from the Bundesliga.
Unfortunately, the 23-year-old Nigerian forward is currently sidelined due to a groin injury, which has caused him to miss out on representing his country in the Africa Cup of Nations. Prior to the injury setback, Boniface had already displayed his goalscoring prowess, having scored an impressive 16 goals in various competitions for Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface joined Leverkusen last July and signed a five-year contract, meaning the club’s management is under no obligation to sell him. However, West Ham remains determined to secure his services and is reportedly prepared to break their transfer record to make it happen.
