A total of 1,081 delegates are set to participate in the upcoming parliamentary primary for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ejisu. Apexnewsgh reports
The by-election was triggered by the unfortunate passing of Dr. John Kumah, who was the Member of Parliament for the area.
Dr. Kumah, aged 45, succumbed to a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.
The vetting committee has given approval to all nine individuals vying to contest in the NPP’s parliamentary primary in the constituency. The party has commended the aspirants for conducting a respectful and honorable campaign.
Francis Adomako, the NPP organiser for the Ashanti Region, expressed confidence in the preparedness for the forthcoming poll. In an interview with Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show, Adomako assured that all necessary measures have been taken to guarantee a successful event.
“All the aspirants have conducted their campaigns diligently, and arrangements including venue, security, and other necessary preparations for Saturday’s (13 April) event are proceeding smoothly,” stated Adomako.
He further added, “As of now, the party has completed all the required tasks for the poll. We are eagerly awaiting the Electoral Commission to oversee the election process. Rest assured, everything is well under control.”
