The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has swiftly responded to the indefinite strike declared by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) by inviting the leadership to an emergency meeting today, Friday, June 14. Apexnewsgh reports

The meeting aims to address the pressing concerns of CETAG, which has led to the strike action. CETAG members have been directed to withdraw teaching and related services indefinitely across all 46 public colleges of education until their grievances are resolved.

The strike is a protest against the government’s delay in implementing the National Labour Commission’s (NLC) Arbitral Award Orders and negotiated service conditions. CETAG is demanding full implementation of the orders and related concerns, including payments to members.

The FWSC’s prompt intervention seeks to resolve the impasse and find a mutually beneficial solution to end the strike and restore normalcy to the colleges of education.
