UE: Church of Pentecost in Sandema witnessed robbery attack Sunday after service

Armed robbers have attacked the Sandema District Church of Pentecost, and made away with huge sums of money and other belongings.

The robbery which happened like an action movie took effect around the afternoon hours of Sunday, immediately after the church service, when few of the church leaders were busily counting and arranging collections monies received for the day.

An account by the eyewitness, says that the robbers came into the premises with guns and asked they asked the leaders they saw counting money, to handover all monies including their mobile phones.

According to the church leaders who were very devastated and helpless by the happenings, the robbers made away with their monies and jumped on an already waiting motorbike and left.
However, the eyewitness further pointed out that the armed robbers left the scene with sporadic gunshots in the air.

“… one of the leaders, who is a female was outside while the male was inside actually counting the money. They first met the female who was outside and showed her the gun and asked her to keep quiet and go inside with them. When they got inside, they were all made to lie down and they took the money and their mobile phones away. Before leaving, they fired into the air several times,” recounted an eyewitness to Ghanaweb Upper East Correspondent,

Residents at the area says they are now living in fear due to the number of cases recorded in the area in recent times..
