Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to former President John Mahama, has assured that former President Akufo-Addo will receive all entitlements due to him as stipulated by the constitution. Apexnewsgh reports
This commitment comes despite the controversy surrounding the post-presidency treatment of President Mahama.
Speaking to the media, Joyce Bawa reflected on the “embarrassing” and “regrettable” events that transpired after President Mahama left office. However, she acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by individuals who serve as president, requiring dedication and commitment to lead the country.
Joyce Bawa emphasized that President Akufo-Addo would receive the benefits outlined by the constitution, which should be the norm for all former presidents. She believes it’s not excessive for the state to offer former presidents a house or two after their tenure, considering their sacrifices.
“President Akufo-Addo will certainly be getting what the constitution says we should give him—whatever the recommendations are,” Joyce Bawa stated. “What happened to Mr. Mahama, embarrassing as it was and still is, I hope we don’t repeat those sorts of mistakes”.
