MTN Ghana Awards Hardworking MoMo Agents Despite COVID-19 Challenges

As part of its cooperation with its agents, MTN Ghana in the 2020 MTN Mobile Money Agents Awards Ceremony organized in Accra has awarded MTN MoMo Agent, Chafel Communications as the Overall Best MTN Mobile Money Agent in South East Business District of the year 2020. The Overall Best MTN Mobile Agent Chafel Communications was awarded a newly branded 2020 Toyota Rush, a four-wheel-drive sports utility vehicle (SUV), and a certificate of honor for his hard work.

In showing appreciation, Managing Director of Chafal Communications Limited, Kelvin Atsu Wilson, who emerged the overall winner expressed satisfaction after receiving the ultimate prize. He extended his thanksgiving to MobileMoney Limited for the opportunity as he vowed to increase his level of energy toward business, especially in making sure he sees more opportunities with MTN.

However, Mr. Eli Hini General Manager of Mobile Money when addressing Mobile Money Agents during the awards show some level of gratitude to the agents and merchants for their tremendous support to the brand especially in a year that witnessed lots of challenges.
According to him, “This year has been a tough one anyhow you looked at it, our partners have proven to be tougher in the midst of a pandemic.” In spite of all the challenges, you demonstrated your commitment to grow the business by working to exceed the targets set for the year. The significance of your contribution to curb the spread of COVID-19 cannot be overemphasized.” He said
He further used the medium to encourage Agents, stakeholders, and customers to be vigilant in the fight against fraudsters especially at this time f the festive season. He however reminded customers of the Three Golden Rules which was meant to serve as a weapon in the fight against fraud. “Do Not disclose your pin; Do not let others transact on your behalf and Do Not discuss your wallet with any stranger”. He advised

Meanwhile, A total of Agents numbering 150 and 100 Merchants from Oti, Volta, Eastern, and Accra received amazing prizes which include 49-inch flat-screen Televisions, Motor Bikes, Phones, and Tablets. Guests were also entertained with a live performance by Ghanaian highlife musician, Fameye.
Some of the initiatives introduced by MTN MoMo to support the welfare of their Agents was an Insurance scheme aimed at ensuring Agents against unforeseen events that could be a hindrance to their lives and businesses. MoMo Agents will benefit from an insurance solution that includes a Life Cover, Death Benefit, Total Permanent Disability, and Critical Illness.

Since 2014, MTN Ghana has continuously recognized over 5000 agents and merchants across the country as a way to appreciate their effort and contribution.
