National Security Busts Massive Counterfeiting Operation, Seizes Millions in Fake Currency

National Security operatives have seized a massive haul of counterfeit currency, including US dollars and Ghana cedis, hidden in 12 shipping containers in a warehouse in Ofakor, Ga South Municipality. Apexnewsgh reports

The operation, which was carried out after a tip-off, revealed cleverly concealed currency, mostly bundles of US dollars, hidden in wooden boxes filled with cement. Other boxes found in the warehouse contained extra currencies stashed in boxes barricaded with plywood and sealed with charcoal.

According to National Security operatives, two containers are still at large, but state security trackers are hot on their trail. A manhunt is also underway for four suspects, including a ring leader known only as Alhaji.

The warehouse yielded even more shocking discoveries, including boxes of metals suspected to be gold bars, counterfeit Ghana cedi notes in 50 and 100 denominations, and fake Ghana Army uniforms and boots. The bust is considered one of the largest counterfeiting operations in recent history, and National Security operatives are working to unravel the extent of the network behind it.
