NDC Kicks Off Vetting Process for MMDCE Applicants in Central Region

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Regional Secretariat in the Central Region has officially launched the vetting process for applicants vying for the positions of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs). Apexnewsgh reports

The much-anticipated vetting commenced today, January 14, 2025, and is scheduled to run through Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the party’s Regional Secretariat in Cape Coast.

This vital exercise follows the completion of the nomination and validation phases across all 23 constituencies within the region. Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams, the Regional Secretary, shared that the vetting aligns with directives from the party’s General Secretary and reflects the leadership of Regional Chairman Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu.

The vetting schedule is structured over three days, focusing on different constituencies:

– **Day 1 (January 14)** featured candidates from Awutu Senya West, Gomoa East, Gomoa Central, Agona East, Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Effutu, and Gomoa West.

– **Day 2 (January 15)** will include applicants from Agona West, Ekumfi, Mfantseman, Awutu Senya East, Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Assin South, Cape Coast South, and Cape Coast North.

– **Day 3 (January 16)** rounds out the vetting with candidates from Abura Asebu Kwamankese, Assin Central, Assin North, Upper Denkyira East, Upper Denkyira West, Twifo Atti Morkwa Hemang, Lower Denkyira, and Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem.

Only those who successfully submitted their application forms and completed the validation process are permitted to participate in the vetting. The qualified candidates have been notified through their respective Constituency Executive Committees.

To prepare for the vetting, applicants are required to provide six copies of essential documents, including their application letter, CV, vision statement, a scanned party ID, and a passport photo. They must also submit academic certificates, records of party dues payments, and recommendations from their branch or polling station executives.

The party has stressed the importance of adhering to strict guidelines throughout the vetting period, including a ban on shadow campaigning using banners, posters, or other promotional materials.
