The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vehemently condemned a directive from the Electoral Commission (EC) prohibiting political party agents from observing the ongoing voter transfer exercise. Apexnewsgh reports

The NDC views this move as a “calculated attempt to aid gerrymandering through illegal voter transfers” and a blatant disregard for transparency in the electoral process.

In a statement signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC questioned the EC’s motives, asking, “What do the Electoral Commission and the NPP have to hide that they do not want Agents of political parties to observe the ongoing voter transfer exercise?” The party emphasized the crucial role of political party agents in promoting transparency and confidence in the electoral system.

The NDC has directed its agents to defy the EC’s directive and continue monitoring the voter transfer exercise at all district offices. The party has also instructed its regional and constituency secretariats to ensure the safety of its agents and resist any intimidation or harassment.

The NDC remains vigilant and committed to preventing any attempts at gerrymandering or manipulation of the electoral process leading up to the 2024 elections.
