A shocking revelation has emerged, contradicting Nana Attobrah Quaicoe’s, Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), earlier denial of wrongdoing in acquiring state land.
Documents from the Lands Commission, obtained by this platform show that Quaicoe purchased a parcel of state land, designated as Plot No. 8, for GH¢160,715.
The land, spanning approximately 0.24 acres, is located within the Giffard Road Layout Extension Area at Cantonments, Accra. This transaction has raised eyebrows, particularly given Quaicoe’s earlier refutation of allegations that he had acquired the land illegally.
Critics argue that the transaction warrants closer scrutiny to ensure transparency and adherence to proper procedures. The Director-General’s acquisition of the land has sparked public interest, with calls for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the sale.
This development also draws attention to the broader issue of accountability in state land dealings, as citizens demand more rigorous oversight to safeguard public resources. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has been vocal about the need for transparency in state land allocations, particularly when involving high-ranking public officials.
